Those three studio albums define excellence. Not to put down the Band of Gypsys...and I can totally get behind where Hendrix was going with them...but, wow. What Hendrix was to guitar, Mitch was to drums!

Dang, he was definitely on of my favorites.
I've had the priviledge to hear some of his tracks isolated (back in 97 when Eddie was remixing some tracks at Electric Ladyland); and they were just tremendous. He was so explosive, but had a level of control that was far beyond contemporaries. Its a shame how much of his dynamics really couldn't captured in those earlier mixes.
