Story time with Mr. Shiny:
My friend Arielle had the opportunity to see GWAR with her brother Jerid about six or seven years ago. At the door, Jerid realized he had forgotten his ticket. Ergo, Arielle, age 13, spent three hours at a GWAR concert BY HERSELF. From what she tells me, it was simultaneously the scariest and best experience of her life.
We saw 10 year olds with their dads....standing behind them right next to the pit. WTF? Man up, dads, and protect the wee ones from elbow smashes!
One of my friend's lost a sleeve, the other ended up just wearing his tie and carrying his bloodsoaked shirt. There were a couple girls who were down to just their bras.
I mostly played paladin of the pit, picking up the fallen and trying to keep them from being stomped on.

That's good to hear. I remember back in my moshing days, there were rules to the pit, and most everyone followed them. The ones that didn't were rather quickly put down. Sure, you got hurt, but not because anyone was intentionally trying to do so. Someone falls, you pick them back up; someone gets caught in a mosh by accident, you shove them toward the nearest edge. I'm glad there are still people around that know some mosh pit etiquette.
