A question

Adventures

I just have a question about the Modules: How many pages are typically taken up for the pre-made characters, credits, TOC, ads, and the "next volume" preview (if there is one)? That stuff is pretty much useless to me, so I was wondering what part of the page count I wouldn't use if I started buying them (although I'm sure that the rest of the content more than makes up for those pages!)

Thanks!

A quick check of the first module to hand (Crucible of Chaos):

OFC
IFC = map
1 = title page
2-30 = adventure (some half-page art)
31 = adventure + OGL + gamemastery ad
32 = pregen characters
IBC = map
OBC

edit: and the second module to hand (Guardians of Dragonfall) is almost the same, but 1 less page of adventure and 1 more page of pregen characters.

Guardians of Dragonfall is an exception, as it's especially high-level. In general with these, you're going to see 1 page of credits, a half page of ad/OGL text, and 1 page of pregen characters. That means that for each 32-page module, you're getting 29.5 pages of straight-up new game material, and if you add in the maps on the inside covers, that's 31.5 pages. Not too shabby, eh?

Also, it should be noted that we're trying to get one new monster (presented in a spread, not unlike the Pathfinder Bestiary) in every module, and we've frequently got new magic items as well (I think the last one we sent to press had at least three). So even before you get a chance to run the adventure, those are useful.

Thanks guys... that's kind of what I thought, but the clarification is much appreciated!
