October releases

The Exchange

I've been pottering through the boards and i've just noticed that the next two modules now have release dates for October. Is this correct? It's not much of an issue but that is pushing things to 5 books in October which is straining things a little.

It is, unfortunately, correct. The modules were sort of the sacrifice we had to make in order to make sure that Pathfinder, the RPG Beta, the hardcover Campaign Setting, the Player's Guide to Second Darkness, and Worlds of their Own all managed to get to the printer by Gen Con. The good news is that we're now officially caught up on the modules as well, which means ALL of our lines are currently on schedule. But since there's a two month delay between us finishing products and their on-sale dates... the effects of it all being on schedule won't hit until October. Basically... this is the last ripple effect of us having to finish off the magazines and launch a line of books simultaneously a year ago... a task that was so crazy and insane and complex that it took us about a year to correct and recover from.

So yeah; there's a clump in October, but that'll be the last of them; after this, we'll be on schedule for good. At least, I hope so, since if we fall behind schedule again there'll have to be a PAIZOPOCALYPSE in the punishment department here.

Oooh! I want to work in the Punishment Department at Paizo! I've got some awesome ideas. You might even say I have "such sights to show you!"

On a more serious note, great job managing the schedule. Despite the lighter weight of my wallet in August, I am amazed that you could manage all of that and still produce books of such high quality.

I hope you guys do get the opportunity to slow down a bit (as much as your monthly schedule allows, that is). I really don't want to see the Paizonians getting burned out.

One other thing that James didn't mention is that we had a problem with the printer in regards to LB2. It went to the printer in July and should have hit Seattle in the first week of September, but due to some printing problems, it is now slated for the very end of September. Sometimes you just can't win. :)

Actually... now that Gen Con is behind us and we're caught up... things have indeed "slowed down." Although that's basically also saying "back to normal." Which after the last few crazy months... it feels pretty good!

Is that Paizo's version of the upcoming Monsterpocalypse coming out from Privateer Press? Will it be OGL? :)

heh.

It's more like Paizo's version of everyone in Editorial getting fired and then ambushed after leaving the building down in the parking lot by hired thugs. (And yes: Of course it'll be OGL!)

Again?!? The last time that happened, modules were late a day. Argh!

Ok I'll bite on this one.

My sub for one month came out to be 3 books (August). 2x Pathfinder Adventure Path and 1 ish of the Companion. The total weight was 1 pound and 11 ounces.

I'll be getting 5 issues in October: Adventure Path, Companion, 2x Modules, and a Chronicles.

I'm worried that it'll be above the cheaper shipping rate option for overseas...It's estimated that it's gonna run about $10 shipping, I hope it doesn't get pushed over that 4 pound limit and hit $40 for shipping heh ;p

I'm doubting it would even hit 3 though I guess, those modules and companions aren't the heftiest books in the world.

ok, so what's scheduled for this month? my backorder for classic monsters revisited should show up this week, so that'll take care of my short term fix, but i'm still not hip to the regular subscription schedule...

Take into account, of course, that although there are 5 books in October, there's only 1 in September. Between the two months, I think that it should about balance out to average (provided the shipping isn't insane).
