A few questions:

Blade Binder (pg 119): Mentions a bonus to bind with khopesh and temple sword, but this bonus isn't mentioned in the weapons' descriptions.*

Flying Talon: Can this weapon be used against an adjacent foe?

Thornbow: Am I missing something? This is an exotic weapon that's strictly worse than a shortbow?

Spoiler:
*That's not a question!

Flying Talon: You can use this against an adjacent foe; you just hold the hook thing by the base where it's attached to the chain and rake away with it.

Thornbow: Strictly by the statistics... no. The thornbow is actually worse than a shortbow. Jason had some sort of reason at one point as to why this weapon is an exotic weapon (perhaps because it shoots thorns, not arrows?), but I would suggest setting the thornbow up as a martial weapon. Actually, I'd be tempted to delete it entirely from the book. It's kinda pointless if you just look at its stats. Jason is, alas, at Gen Con UK so he can't defend it right now. I'll ask him about it when he gets back.

I have a question about the temple sword, too...basically, I get the description from the Campaign Setting page 210. However, I can't quite get my mind around the images of the blade Sanjan caries (here and here are good examples) - what is that flat bit jutting off the end? Is is edged or is it meant to be held during weird kung-fu maneuvers?

It's edged. Think of it as a chopper like an axe blade.

Have you had a chance to ask Jason yet?

The thorn bow was picked up from "Conquest of Bloodsworn Vale." In that adventure, the thorn bow was a weapon that doesn't shoot arrows; it shoots thorns. This bit of flavor got omitted from its appearance in the hardcover... but it really just amounts to flavor. The mechanics of the thorn bow remain sub-normal bow, so it's weird that it's an exotic weapon. At this point, I suspect that we'll just delete it from the next printing, since there's not much reason for it to stick around.

I would like to say in defence of the thorn bow that something about it (I think it must be the idea of rosewood that I like) appeals to me; all that's needed is an explanation of why the things are made and employed in the first place.

I am unfamiliar with The Conquest of Bloodsworn Veil or in whose hands these weapons originate, but may I suggest that an unenchanted thorn bow bypasses damage reduction as if it were either a magical weapon or a cold iron weapon (not BOTH; rule it does one depending on what the foes likely to give problems around The Bloodsworn Veil are) and that with regard to enchanting a masterwork one as a magical weapon, it becomes cheaper to do so, since the material has an 'affinity' for magic.

Page 130-131 describes "the goop," and then mentions details to be noted under the Equipment section of Chapter 5. I apologize for missing it, but I can't find any references to "the goop" and how the mechanics work.

IIRC, the editors have said previously that "the goop" got cut or was never designed.

Thank you. I swear, I've searched the messageboards as well to no avail. Now I can sleep at ease tonight.
