I like tumble and I like the new rage but why are they together? If i am so mad that my strength and constitution increase why would I be able to swiftly tumble past enemies and attack? More likely I would barrel past enemies and hit hard with my two handed weapon. Ignoring any extra (ie.. AoE) from my movement.

You are so focused on the target of your rage that you ignore others, moving past them faster than they can strike at you?
The movie scene where two armies clash, the front lines run past each other and actually 'meet' the second or third rank of the enemy?
The hero and villain pushing their way through the ranks, friend and foe, to get face-to-face?
A samurai charging, his sword upraised, screaming in a way that the mere soldiers part before him? Okay, bad example, that's actually another feat.
Barbarians are more than 'Thog crush you'. I think of 'rage' more as a burst of adrenaline than true, foaming at the mouth hatred.
But I'll stop posting while I'm still on topic. Stayed up WAY too late this morning...

Excellent point Rob. Its easier for me to imagine the ranger slipping past the front ranks of spear men to attack the general barking commands. They are hunters after all.
My point with barbarian tumble is that I can see an acrobatic nimble barbarian. It is the fact that an enraged barbarian can still or would even bother to tumble is what I don't like.

Ya, the tumble, darkvision/low light and Elemental rage, just don't scream out barbarian to me. Altho i really like the explanation given above to explain tumble.
I would rather see these converted to combat oriented displays of strength and constitution. Something like voluntarily taking a hit so that your opponent is shaken or an immediate counter attack with a more damaging blow. Maybe a wild swing that forces all enemies in the barbarians threatened range to back away or some such.
Elements just added to a weapon due to his rage doesn't sit well with me, or "I'm so angry i'm going to see you in the dark"
Anyway keep up the good work i loved all the other changes. Even tho they pounded my low strength druid :)

Ducking, waving and jumping around for a skilled acrobat is an instinctive action. Just like a skilled rider guides his or her horse instinctively. I don't mind allowing Acrobatics checks during rage.
[For those who haven't noticed, the barbarian class description still has Tumble, but the current name of the skill is Acrobatics.]

I still think it's assinine that barbarians get acrobatics as a class skill and rangers don't. hell, look at two of the best-known archetypes for the classes: Conan & Robin Hood--which of the two is it easier to envision tumbling in combat?
Where did that come from? Have you seen the alpa 3 before the rest of us?

No. But I have seen Table 5-4 on page 37. Perhaps you've seen it? Or not.
