Pendragon books

I posted this question in the products section and it died.

Has anyone read any of the Pendragon books (Green Knight Publishing)? Paizo still has them on sale for $1 each, and for that price you can't go too far wrong. If you have already read any of the 13 books, do you have any favorites?

And as a follow up question, has anyone tried the RPG? I'm thinking of getting ti for a friend who's into medieval history and i think a realistic approch to the times would grab him. any comments?
