For all you Pittsburgh Steeler Fans out there, Myron Cope, the infameous sports announcer died recently. He began as a sportscaster in 1970 when Steeler Bradshaw started with the team. My terrible towel still flies for you Myron.

I am not a Steelers fan (Go Browns!), but I am a HUGE Myron Cope fan. He was truly a class act and one of the best broadcasters in NFL history. Myron made every Browns/Steelers game a treat, and it's sad to think he will no longer be around for them anymore.

I will miss him.

*waves Terrible Towel* (even though I've grown to hate those things).

Its good to know that even Steelers and Browns fans can put asside their rivalry aside for Myron. ;)

Yoi! As a native 'Burgher I can say that Myron is certainly being celebrated here in the city. I recently read an article about him where he described his voice as "hitting the ears of the public like china hitting the floor in an earthquake". He was a character and a genuinely good human being, donating the rights to his Terrible Towel to a school for the mentally and physically challenged (so buy one ya Cleve Brownie fan!). A local sportscaster, Bill Hilgrove, who worked with Myron said that "he wouldn't want to be mourned, he'd want to be celebrated".

Double Yoi.
