And Ehlissa's touching, pertinent, humourous recollection of her wise gradfather was just chopped liver? Harrumph. I jest, of course. ;) Before I tell you how injured Ehlissa is; how accurate is Sli at assessing battlefield injury? Ehlissa took 10HP in the last round, enough to take anybody else the group pretty much into negative, but she's still hanging in with 3HP. Her training helps her to avoid attacks that much better etc etc.

Harrumph, indeed,... ;)
OK, Sli has no 'battlefield' exp. (Obviously he's survived wandering around the countryside, so he's either competent, or just VERY lucky,...)
BUT, I would think that a visual examination would tell even a non-com the difference between 'hangnail', 'bad gash, but not spewing a fountain from an artery', & 'OMG, how is he still standing & breathing!?!'
Even taking into account that if I had 3hp left, that's OVER 1/2 my HP left still,... :P
PS-Has anybody heard from Naelah?!? Just wondering if the time differential spun her right out of the current space/time continuum?!
Ehlissa Briez
"Your welcome" Corran says somewhat unsteadily as he surveys the results of his swordstroke. First time I killed someone in battle. Its.... messy "Are you okay?"
Feeling blood oozing into her clothing from her injuries, Ehlissa feels woozy, but steels herself to keep fighting.
Of course 2 'r's, otherwise you're losing the attack on the 'umph'. :) To be honest, unless someone helps me out before my initiative, the valiant warrior maiden could be unconscious toast. Which would be a damp squib after dispatching two so decisively...

You've got one over there, right? There's a lot that can happen before he can make a move. Malcolm, Naelah, and Slidell (and their assorted furry/feathered friends) all have to go before him. Stand firm, girl!
Ehlissa Briez
Wait a minute! I just noticed that the one in N12 is now eating pie, according to JSL. Excellent! I'm safe for the nonce. Let's try to capture it! Ehlissa would never attack it in cold blood. She'd wait for it to finish eating and ready it's sword before attacking. haha
Sir Malcolm of Riddleport
I'm down to 3 HP as well. There's a goblin in front of me right? If so here are my actions for next round. BTW, nice post Vesh.
I grit my teeth against the pain in my side, thinking "Hold it together Malcolm, you've had worse. Just think of the reward you might get for this. Focus on the gold.". I look down at the little goblin in front of me and smile grimly "You picked the wrong man to mess with this time. If I had a ship I'd keel-haul you up and down this coast." I say as I stab at the puny creature's face with my rapier while trying to slash him open like a gutted fish with my sword
Could someone roll attack and damage for me? I don't have my dice with me and I can't access Invisiblecastle from here for some reason.

New Page, reposting the initiative order and map link for easy access. (NOT trying to step on your magnificent-writing toes @JSL, just trying to help!)
Initiative:
Vesh K6
Malcolm M8
Naelah H7
Slidell J6
Goblins G4, N12
Corran K10
Ehlissa L10
Looks like there are only 2 goblins left, neither within hitting distance without moving. It looks like Malcolm, Corran or Ehlissa could move and attack the one at N12, but you would have to hurdle the "low fence" that surrounds the porch it is on.
Hope this helps!
JSL
I guess I miss alot when I'm out all morning.
Vesh:
For the second time today your dagger spills goblin blood. The little fiend's laughter turns to shrieks of pain as the steel bites deeply.
Malcolm is up, though there are no goblins particularly close. Naelah, Veren, and Slidell all have easy access to the wounded goblin. Ehlissa, Corran, and Malcolm (from a distance) are nearest to the pie eater. I probably won't be able to check in until later tonight, so let me know if your intent is to kill or capture and how you plan to do it.
Also, Naelah, we did your action for last round so you are almost up this round with a goblin due west (see the map).
Vesh
For the second time today your dagger spills goblin blood. The little fiend's laughter turns to shrieks of pain as the steel bites deeply.
A writhing laughter escapes Vesh's mouth as he sees the blade fly true. The pain from his leg flairs infuriatingly, twisting his momentary smile into the familiar frown. I hope someone kills the little bastard--I want my knife back!
Sir Malcolm of Riddleport
I dash over to the pie eating goblin and grab his head by any scraggly strands of hair he might have. "Surprise!" I shout and slam his head down into the pie and the table.
What kind of check should I make? Grapple (I hope not)? If so Grapple 5

Touch attack first. FYI: Rules for Grapple, HERE.
Ehlissa Briez
My contribution to grappling when it's my turn
Ehlissa sheathes her sword and dashes to the pie-eating brute, trying to restrain it. Grapple (1d20+3=17)
JSL

What kind of check should I make? Grapple (I hope not)? If so Grapple 5
EDIT: Your touch attack hits. Then he makes an opposed grapple check at -5 because he is small and puny RESULT = 9 (win). So you fail to start the grapple. You are now standing next to the goblin.
Malcolm vaults the low fence and lunges towards the pie-eater. However, the shifty creature spins away in the nick of time leaving Malcolm grasping at air.Now Naelah, which I suppose I should go ahead and do.
With a quick signal to Veren, Naelah circles to the north to engage the wounded goblin. The wolf darts between Vesh and Slidell, attacking from the south.
Naelah's attack at +1 w/ scimitar RESULT = 11 (miss). Veren's attack at +5 (flanking) RESULT = 9 (miss).
The goblin jumps from side to side, dodging the druid's swing and the wolf's bite. It counters, lunging towards Naelah with its knife, but the clumsy blow is easily parried.
Goblin attacking Naelah at +3 (AC 15) RESULT = 8 (miss).
Malcolm:
The stunned pie-eater backpeddals (5 ft step) and hastily flings a heavy clay platter at you while scrambling for his dog slicer. The platter shatters against your head, leaving you woozy.
Goblin attack at -1 (improvised weapon) (AC 16) RESULT = 16 (hit) damage 1d2-1 = 1 (non-lethal)
Slidell will act before the goblins. So if he stuns the pie-eater, ignore the damage above. Also, Ehlissa needs to make a touch attack vs. the goblin, too.
Slidell Stormraven
OK, sorry, long work day. And now, "Meanwhile, back at the square,..."
Slidell hears Vesh yell in pain, and starts to step in his direction. He watches as Vesh reaches out, and his dagger flies to his hand.
'Useful. Odd, I don't think my tattoo flares with light like that,...
He watches with interest as Vesh spins and promptly throws the dagger at the fleeing goblin that injured him, returning the favor. Slidell's hand creeps towards his own dagger, 'AH, so if you grip the blade there, and release at the apex,...'
He is startled by Veren charging by, almost knocking him off balance as he rushes to join Naelah in attacking the fleeing goblin.
It is the screeching of his familiar that snaps his head back around to the south.
"Goblin, Goblin, eating pie,
sit down and prepare to die!
AWK!
"Veran, don't do anything stupid,..." Slidell growls, starting to step towards the rhythm-impaired fowl.
The raven spreads his wings and leans over the roof edge, as the sailor hurdles the low fence and makes a grab at the pie-thief but snatches only air.
"VERAN!"
Slidell launches into a full run, plucking another bit of arcane flotsam from a vest pocket. He hurtles, cape flapping, between the injured sailor and next to the two warrior-types, seemingly oblivious to the fact that they are obviously getting ready to charge the pie-eater. He slides to a stop next to the woman in armor, hurling what appears to be a bit of wool and shouting "Paji!"
The bit of wool turns into a blur of mist that streaks unerringly to the pie-eating goblin. The goblins eyes cloud over, and he begins to sway,...just as a dark, plummeting shape hits him in the back of the head, forcing his face into the pie.
"Birds Rule!
Goblins Drool!
AWK!"
The raven is already flapping his way back up, circling towards the roof as Slidell starts to shout,
"Pastor sai cadaer Veran! He cries, pointing at the renegade raven, "How many times do I have to tell you to stay out of a fight! Do you WANT to end up as a main dish,... with taerer stuffing?!? If I had wanted a bird that could fight, I would have picked a hawk, or an eagle! But no, I had to pick a bird that could talk,...BACK mostly!"
Slidell continues to berate the the obviously unimpressed fowl, who proceeds to preen his feathers, ignoring the shouting from below. Meanwhile the two warriors, after exchanging glances during the initial rant, proceed to close in on the goblin and try to capture the dazed creature.
OK, Game stuff,...
Slidell moves thru J7, K8 & ends in L9.
Assuming that M ends up in N11, so I have a clear shot.
He casts daze, auto-hits, Goblin gets will save vs DC13
Veran tries to hit from behind (touch AC?, surprise?)(GRRR, can't get invisible castle up!) Rolled a 12+4 to hit = 16
Sorry so late, even when I work late, I can't help but type a novel! Carry on with the capture! According to 'Daze' if he fails his save he gets no actions, but he is NOT stunned, so we get no special bonus against him. (Whattya want? It IS a cantrip after all!)
Vesh
I am assuming that Naelah and Veren are attacking from F4 and H4 respectively. Vesh closes to H5 to attack.
Vesh sees Slidell yelling at his raven and running to join the tumult to the east. Trying to ignore the pain in his leg, Vesh rushes to attack the goblin engaged with Naelah and the wolf. As the foul thing lunges at her, Vesh thrusts his sword at its ribs.
Flanking attack on goblin at G4 = 12 and damage = 5. If this hits, I have no idea if this is considered a sneak attack, but if so the die roll = 3
JSL
Slidell:
As your spell hits home the goblin sways, then shaking his head to clear it, he steps back and throws some crockery at Malcolm. Veran swoops down and claws at the creature's head, eliciting a surprised scream, but doing only slight damage.
Goblin Will save (DC 13) RESULT = 15 (pass - lucky bugger!). Veran inflicts 1 point of damage. Since he does not have fly-by attack, I'll park him (airborne) next to the goblin.
Ehlissa & Corran:
You lunge forward together, grab the goblin and hold him in place.
No need for opposed roll, he can't beat you. Next round you can attempt a pin & he can attempt to escape. Go ahead and post grapple checks if that is what you want to do.
Vesh:
The goblin, despite being surrounded by three of the party, proves to be a crafty fighter and eludes your blow.
I think we're to Malcolm now and I have no idea whether to expect him today or even what he might do. He might very well try to run the goblin through.
Vesh
The goblin, despite being surrounded by three of the party, proves to be a crafty fighter and eludes your blow.
By Desna, DIE already! As Vesh's thrust misses, he is left to hope that Naelah or Veren can finish the pest quickly ... and to wonder where, in the name of the gods, the city watch is!
Corran
Ehlissa & Corran:
You lunge forward together, grab the goblin and hold him in place. No need for opposed roll, he can't beat you. Next round you can attempt a pin & he can attempt to escape. Go ahead and post grapple checks if that is what you want to do.
Ehlissa, do we want to just grapple this goblin until the watch comes, or just pound him unconcious with subdual damage? Corran is fine with just slugging him ;-) One punch would probably be enough, with the +5 damage on my unarmed strike. (+3 STR, +2 Favored enemy)
JSL
Malcolm:
As Ehlissa and Corran struggle to bring the captured goblin under control, Malcolm yanks a tablecloth from one of the nearby tables sending dishes clattering to the ground. Holding the cloth taut, he moves his hands in circles to roll it into a makeshift rope.
So if Ehlissa and Corran can establish a pin or knock the goblin out, Malcolm will tie it up and wait here as recommended in the discussion thread.
Ehlissa & Corran: each of you needs to make a grapple check. The best result will be used as the DC for the goblin's attempted escape, which occurs on its turn. Then, on your turns, you can attempt to damage the goblin (taking a -4 attack penalty for being in the grapple) or one of you can attempt to pin the goblin and the other can break out of the grapple and attack the goblin (getting a +4 bonus for striking a pinned opponent).
Meanwhile, action is to Naelah, then the goblins.

JSL wrote:

Actually, isn't it action to Naelah, then Slidell, THEN goblins?
(How you can 'forget' a character as annoying as I'm playing him, I don't know!) ;)
Neither do I. Go ahead and post your action, though. I'll probably have to do Naelah's again since PsionicFox is very busy. You can assume that she and Veren will attack the goblin to the north.
Ragadolf
Still fussing at his familiar with an almost constant tirade of "Do you have a death wish!?!" and ways the fowl could come to a messy end, interspersed with what sounds like Elvish, (Used in ways that Elvish was probably never meant to be used.) Slidell walks behind the two warriors who are attempting to hold the difficult little beast.
Veran, meanwhile, returns to his rooftop perch and begins preening. Apparantly oblivious to the tirade coming from below.
Slidell comes up beside the female warrior and, looking at the sailor making a makeshift rope, asks, "Need a hand?"
With a wink at the armored female, Slidell sticks the forefinger of his left hand in his mouth, pulls it out with a 'pop', and sticks it up into the air. Nodding at the result, he glances at his feet and changes his stance, then looks at the goblin and mutters something about "isocolese triangle', 'vector angles', and 'speed of decent' while taking a two-handed grip on his staff and raising it up over his head.
With a final glance at the creature, Slidell lowers his staff one-handed, slowly, and precisely between the eyes of the hissing, spitting goblin, and thumps him with it. Hard.
The goblin squeals, almost biting off it's own toungue, and starts to shreik at his abusers, then goes silent. It's eyes roll inward towards it's nose, as if trying to look at the spot where it was hit, and then roll up into its head as it goes completely limp.
"There you are sir," Slidell says to the sailor as he recovers his staff and leans on it. "Ready for packaging."
Looking at the three faces whose expressions range from amuzed, to astonished to possible outrage, Slidell clears his throat. "It's all in the wrist, actually. Umm,... Candy?" He finishes, smiling and holding out a crumpled piece of paper.
OK, game stuff,...
Veran returns too the roof and makes a deliberate spot check,
Slidell starts in square L9,MOVES thru L10, L11, L12, L13 & ends in M14.
He then hits the goblin with his staff. The roll is -4 for subdual damage, and +4 for the goblin being held. THIS IS THE LINK
(Because I will NEVER roll a natural 20 and max dmg again this entire game. Not even if I cheated could I figure out how to do this.)
I assume this knocks the bugger out, if not I will roll to confirm crit.
And yes, I wrote the post AFTER seeing the roll, it was too good not to milk it!
Ehlissa Briez
the armored female! I'm not wearing any armour! That's why I was terrified last round!
Ehlissa looks with disgust at the arrogant newcomer, especially when he winks at her! When he bops the goblin on the head, she gapes with anger and disbelief. When he quips about it being 'all in the wrist', she turns on him in annoyance, "That will be quite enough from you, young man!" she says in her most aggreived tone.
I know he's older than her, but she's trying to put him in his place ;)

Here are Naelah's and Veren's actions to see if we can wrap this up... Veren attacks goblin at +5 RESULT = 7 (miss) Naelah attacks goblin at +3 RESULT = 9 (miss) Gotta love that low level combat...
And the goblin attacks Veren at +3 (AC 14) RESULT = 8 (miss)
Amid a flurry of swings and bites, little changes in the northern battle.
Vesh: kill the thing, please...
Meanwhile, amid scattered tables and broken crockery, Slidell brains the struggling goblin, drawing shocked looks from the two warriors wrestling the snarling little cur.
Vesh is up. Malcolm is going to tie up the now unconcious goblin. I will be out for a few hours, but I'll try to update this tonight.
Vesh
Vesh: kill the thing, please...
The way my luck is going with my sword, I'm almost too afraid to roll! Here goes...Hallelujah!!!
Critical hit roll = 16!!!; Additional d6+1 of damage = 5!!!, Total Damage = 12!!! (FINALLY)
------------------------------------
Vesh watches in dismay at the almost comical dancing of the goblin as he first eludes Naelah's scimitar and then Veren's fangs. In an instant Vesh sees his opening. Desna's favor, given so richly to the goblin thus far, is swiftly taken away and given to...
ME!!! The goblin spins away from Veren and for a split second stands before Vesh, it's eyes buldging almost as if seeing its doom. Too late. Vesh levels a swing with all his force at the exposed neck of the wretched creature. The next thing Vesh sees is ... blood.
Corran

Ouch, I rolled a 5 for the graple check. I hope Ehlissa does better, lol
On my turn (immediately after the goblin I believe) I'll punch the goblin. I hit a nine, so I don't believe I hit. Damage is a 6 if it does hit though
JSL
On my turn (immediately after the goblin I believe) I'll punch the goblin.
To recap a little: Naelah, Veren, and Vesh cornered a goblin running to the north. Eventually, Vesh ran him through. Meanwhile, the others converged on a goblin who stopped fighting to grab a quick snack. While Ehlissa and Corran held him, Slidell knocked him cold with a crit. Malcolm has fashioned a makeshift rope out of a tablecloth and is preparing to bind him. Due to the somewhat bogus 6 second combat round, perhaps 20 seconds has passed since the initiation of hostilities, but we'll assume it has been more like a minute or two; certainly no more than five.
The last of the goblins dealt with, you each take a moment to breathe deeply. The fresh evening air invigorates you and you set about binding wounds and checking on those around you.
The scene before you is surreal, like one viewed through a hazy morning fog or the smoke of a green-wood fire. The royal blues of the town guard are a sea of muted gray, pursuing goblins up Church Street towards the North Gate. The cobbles of Church Square, once vibrant and inviting are a muddy brown, highlighted here and there with red streaks: blood, running in tiny streams between the stones.
In ones and twos and small groups, the ragged townsfolk are running, limping, and hobbling towards Junker's Way. Here and there, you see a straggler holding a bloodsoaked cloth to an arm or leg. Around the edges of the square, the occasional goblin screams, often closely pursued by armed citizens. In the middle of it all, looking somewhat out of place, is Father Zantus, standing tall on the wooden speaker's platform, his arms outstreached and his robe billowing in the evening breeze.
The vendors' area looks to have been through a mid-winter storm. Tents are flapping, half tied down and half loose. Everywhere, tables are overturned and dishes broken.
You have a moment to catch your breath and make introductions. You also score 300XP each for the fight. I'll do "story awards" as we finish the "parts" of the adventure, but fight XP on the spot so I don't have to try to remember it.
Slidell Stormraven
the armored female! I'm not wearing any armour! That's why I was terrified last round!
Sorry, I forgot that part! ;P
Ehlissa looks with disgust at the arrogant newcomer, especially when he winks at her! When he bops the goblin on the head, she gapes with anger and disbelief. When he quips about it being 'all in the wrist', she turns on him in annoyance, "That will be quite enough from you, young man!" she says in her most aggreived tone.I know he's older than her, but she's trying to put him in his place ;)
Slidell stops smiling, lowers his head, and touches his hand to the brim of his hat. "Yes Ma'am, Sorry Ma'am," He says solemnly. But when he raises his head back up, the UNarmored woman can see that the smile in his eyes is even brighter than before. "Your right, one should always introduce oneself first!"
"I am Slidell, sometimes called the Stormraven," He continues, including the other warrior with the shield and the sailor busy tying many knots in the cloth now binding the unconscious goblin. "You've met my companion Veran," he continues as he indicates the preening Raven on the rooftop.
"We were just enjoying the festival with our new friends, whom I've lost track of,..." He mumbles as he looks for his other companions, with badly-smothered chuckles from the roof as the only clue that he is looking in the wrong direction. "When this,...attack happened." Slidell continues, oblivious to or ignoring the chortles from above.
"It looked like you could use a hand, and I was free, so here I am. Candy? Oh great Nethys!" He exclaims as he finally sees the wounds on the young female warrior. "Your hurt!"
Shoving the open paper with the brightly colored sweets almost in her face, the young woman reacts and grabs it defensively out of instinct. With his hands now free, Slidell begins pulling a strip of cloth from one pocket, while patting down other pockets with his other hand. "Don't you worry! We'll have you fixed up right-as-rain in no time! I just learned this great trick for binding wounds from the Varisians! Now where did I put those herbs?,..."
Slidell will continue to 'help' the other injured, until everyone is 'patched up' or he is stopped. I was going to make it a group intro, but I'm a big enough spotlight hog as it is! While intros are happening, Veran is actually watching out for Slidell, making spot checks every round to make sure nothing ELSE is sneaking up on him. SOMEbody has to watch out for him!
Vesh
...The scene before you is surreal, like one viewed through a hazy morning fog or the smoke of a green-wood fire...
As Vesh realizes that his part in the battle is over, at least for the time being, he feels waves of excitement and nausea wash over him and he starts to shake despite himself.
Vesh puts his booted foot on the forehead of the dead goblin in order to remove the shortsword from the thing's neck. Had this been a bigger sword, it might have gone clean through. He stoops to pluck his dagger from the goblin's back. He sheaths neither, wanting at least to wipe the blades before doing so, but also aware that he might have further need of his weapons if more goblins appear.
He looks from Naelah to Veren and back and tells her in Shoanti, "O daja he lath ol dal." He continues to ask her in common, "Are you okay? Were you hit?"
Shoanti translation:
"You have blood in your hair."
Ehlissa Briez
Ehlissa bats away the stranger's bag in annoyance, "Are you mocking me?" she asks angrily when he calls her 'ma'am', "I thank you for your aid in our battle, but I will not brook your arrogance. Is that understood? Your concern is noted however," she says through gritted teeth whilst restraining the goblin, "but unless you are a healer of some sort, I suggest that you confine your words to the battlefield, where they are of more use!"
Vesh
I am not try to cut Naelah off--in fact, if she has time to post, I'd like to see her reply--BUT, in the interest of advancing the story...
As he exchanges words with Naelah . . . Vesh grabs a half-full bottle of wine off the nearest table and douses some on the gash on his leg. Ripping two long pieces from the cleanest part of the table cloth, he binds one piece to his leg to feebly try (heal check = 5) to staunch the bleeding and uses another piece to wipe his blades clean.
Spotting Slidell in a conversation with an animated young woman who is clearly not pleased with something, he nods to Naelah, indicating that he is going to move closer to them and that she is welcome join him, offering her a drink from the wine bottle before taking one himself.
Wait. That man and woman next to Slidell. I sat next to them at the Rusty Dragon this morning!
Appraising the scene and the fighting man, the young woman, and the sailor in turn, Vesh waits until the woman stops speaking, but interrupts Slidell's response. He says to the woman, "You might let Slidell, here, have a look at your wound. You are bleeding quite a bit." He frowns and turns to the young mage, "I am, too, for that matter."
Slidell Stormraven
Slidell somehow manages to capture the escaping bag and not drop the bandage at the same time.
Slowly, he stands to his full height. He then looks down on the young warrior woman without actually looking down his nose at her, and take a slow, deliberate breath,...

He says to the woman, "You might let Slidell, here, have a look at your wound. You are bleeding quite a bit." He frowns and turns to the young mage, "I am, too, for that matter."
Slidell's mouth closes with a snap. He opens it again, then closes it again as he realizes what Vesh has said.
"Your leg!" he exclaims as he bends over and starts pulling out the bandage again. "Why didn't you say something?!" He yanks Vesh's leg up off the ground, unceremoniously dumping him into the chair he was standing in front of, and begins to check Vesh's bandage, his response to the demanding young woman apparently forgotten.
Though Vesh does hear Slidell mumbling as he works. Something about "Pampered Princesses,..." and "Too young to be that uptight,..."
Slidell stops suddenly in the middle of re-tying the bandage, looking up at Vesh with a worried look on his face. "Naelah! Is she,..?! He stops again as he sees the object of his concern quietly watching over Vesh's shoulder. "OK?,..oh,..Good! your alright! I mean,... There, all done." He awkwardly finishes his knot with a too-tight twist and quickly stands up, looking around.
Vesh
"OK?,..oh,..Good! your alright! I mean,... There, all done." He awkwardly finishes his knot with a too-tight twist and quickly stands up, looking around.
Vesh, wincing as Slidell tightens the knot, looks at Slidell's handiwork after he finishes with the bandage.
"Hmm." He says frowning. Looking from the bandage to the young woman (Ehlissa), Vesh says, "Perhaps it wound be wiser to have Naelah look at your wound."
Remembering himself he adds, "My name is Vesh. Please excuse me if I don't stand." Then addressing both the fighters (Ehlissa and Corran), he adds, "Didn't I sit next to you at the Rusty Dragon this morning?" He spares a glance at the sailor, but waits for the two to respond.
Vesh
Vesh smiles. "Yes. She is the Shoanti girl," turning to indicate Naelah, "and that is her wolf, Veren." He pauses. "I have no animals," he adds with a slight nod in Slidell's and Naelah's direction.
Ehlissa Briez
Ehlissa can't help but chuckle at the Verisian's quip, "No, indeed you don't! I had thought we'd been joined by a travelling managerie" she says with a grin.
She addresses the Shoanti girl, Naelah, "Excuse me, miss.. Naelah? I wonder if I might asks that you consider the wounds of others above myself, as there are many here who are more grievously wounded than I." Ehlissa's manner with everyone besides Corran is noticeably more formal and her words are moe carefully chosen, but still gracious and poilte (except when berating the interfering magician!)
Vesh
In the middle of it all, looking somewhat out of place, is Father Zantus, standing tall on the wooden speaker's platform, his arms outstreached and his robe billowing in the evening breeze.
As Ehlissa addresses Naelah, Vesh turns his attention to Father Zantus over on the platform.
@JSL: Is the good father still there? Also, are there any other NPCs around, and if so, what are they up to? I'm not just thinking of notables like Sheriff Hemlock, but of Ven, Shayliss, Ameiko, etc. as well.
JSL
Vesh:
You scan the retreating crowd for a sign of a familiar face. The vendor's area where you stood at the start of the fight cleared out pretty fast. Now that you think about it, you remember Ameiko and Bethana shouting to others to escape before overturning a table in the path of the onrushing goblins and running down Junker's Way. You are somewhat comforted by the fact that, despite the blood spilled in the Square, you do not see any human-sized corpses. The town guard seems to have rallied at the foot of Church Street at the north end of the square.
Corran:
Here and there you see a goblin or two towards the perimeter of the Square. But for every goblin, you see two or three Citizens armed with carving knives, fry pans, or even wooden chairs beating the creatures back towards the north where the town guard is making a stand. The center of the Square is nearly deserted.
Perception check (DC 20) for Corran, Vesh, and Veran (raven) only. Success:
As if out of nowhere, four goblins dart from beneath the speakers' platform. They are making straight towards a cart loaded with kindling for the planned bonfire. One is carrying a torch.
All: Roll Initiative. If you made the Perception check, you have surprise (one action). Goblins at +2 RESULT = 18
