Salome
Salome finds herself growing more exasperated and impatient with every passing moment of debate and lecture. "It's not genius! It's a children's game! 'The gold lock takes the gold key/The silver lock takes the silver key/The mon-lock takes the...' Oh, never mind. Just get on with it!"
Slidell strides up to within 5' of the door. Just far enough back to give even him a chance to dodge another attack. And looks over his shoulder to the others.
Involuntarily, she rolls her eyes. Majji!
Slidell Stormraven
"It's not genius! It's a children's game! 'The gold lock takes the gold key/The silver lock takes the silver key/The mon-lock takes the...' Oh, never mind. Just get on with it!"
Slidell nods and raises his frost-covered hand, pointing at the door. His mouth intones the magic word even as his brain reviews Salome's statement.
"Thyrori!"
'The gold lock takes the gold key/The silver lock takes the silver key/The mon-lock takes the...' "HEY!" He cries aloud, even as the pale blue beam lances from his finger to strike the door.
Vesh
Vesh, even with the slight ear-ache he still feels, can't help but smile at the exchange between Slidell and Salome.
Big Sister has a temper.
His smile broadens at the thought, giving him a semi-sinister look as he draws his bow and readies an (+1) arrow. He raises his weapon at the door as Slidell casts his spell.
JSL
So sorry to keep everyone waiting so long...
As the icy ray arcs from Slidell's outstretched hand to strike the plate, you all notice the air around the plate shimmer like a mirage in the desert. You stare in disbelief as the plate grows suddenly translucent revealing darkness beyond. Not sure if this is a door or a window, you're doubts are put to rest by a gust of moist air heavy with the reek of flesh emanating from beyond the portal.
Almost immediately, the darkness begins to receede around the edges of the opening and the solid plate starts to reform. You estimate that in a few seconds the opening will be too small to pass through.
Perception DC 20:
You see shadowy shapes moving about in the darkness beyond the plate. Somemting seems odd, though about the way they move - like they are walking uphill.
No time to debate - either you're going through or not!
Salome
Perception check (1d20+4=9)Ouch! Usually I'm more perceptive than that.
"Finally!" Salome sighs as she looks into the darkness beyond. Then, seeing the edges of the panel re-form, she shouts "Go! Go!" and charges, holding her scimitar in her right hand as she runs toward the shrinking doorway.
Vesh
Vesh's Perception Check (1d20-4=8)
Vesh darts through, almost tripping on Malcolm and Salome in the process.
Slidell Stormraven
HEY! It ate my post from last night! (Mumble Grumble) Here it is again as best as I can recall,... and edited for the others actions. heheh
"Hey, It worked!" Slidell says, uncringing from the fiery burst that he was half-expecting.
"Well of course it worked! Come on!" HE cries over his shoulder, "It won't stay open forever!"
Slidell pauses only to touch his new cloak clasp, and mumble something. He is briefly covered in a silver sheen. He pulls his crossbow back into the ready position.
"Come on V." He says to his feathered sidekick. "Let's see just what's so important behind this door!"
"Hey, wait for me!" He calls, just realizing that he has already been passed by everyone he thought was behind him. He runs forward and hops the reappearing door.
Don't remember Sli's perception roll (Other than 'pathetic') but Veran got a 16. We didn't see nuthin'. ;P Activate Prot/Evil, crossbow ready,... rock & roll!
JSL
You leap through the doorway arrayed for battle. However, as you set foot across the threshold, your body's immediately register that something is wrong with this room. The floor is sloped upwards to the left.
Make a DC 15 Ref save. If you made the previous Perception check, you get a +2. Failure indicates you fall prone. While in this room, you must succeed on a Balance check DC 12 to move faster than 1/2 speed. Fail that, and you fall prone.
The room itself is like a huge vault with a towering ceiling - but turned halfway on its side. You are on a wide ledge some 20 feet above the floor. A stone stair leads up to your level on the left. A massive pile of crushed stone is all that remains of a similar stair that used to continue up from your level.
Across from you on the lower level, you see the remains of an iron door which has been crushed and folded in on itself, leaving only a narrow gap.
Your attention is quickly drawn to gutteral shrieking and chattering. Three of the split-jawed wrathspawn charge towards you, two by vaulting over the lip of the ledge and one running up the stairs.
Initiative. Also, I'm going to be very busy today until evening again and will not have computer access tomorrow - all day meetings in Oakland. So I will try to get a map up tonight, but combat probably won't start until Friday.

Reflex save (1d20+1=2)
Balance save (1d20-5=14)
Initiative (1d20+1=6)
Surprised by the slanted floor (what kind of a slope are we talking here?), Salome lands wrong and falls forward. Quickly reorienting herself, she tentatively stands in the Escherian space, half-expecting creatures to be walking upside down on twisted stairs. Suddenly, like a nightmare-come-true, she notices one... two... three wrathspawn approaching, totally unaffected by the off-balance architecture.
"You should have taken a lesson from your dead comrades," she growls. "We will show no mercy."
Scimitar is already drawn. My plan at this point: if there's time, I'll cast Bless; if not, I'll attack.
Vesh
Reflex save (1d20+3=15)
Initiative (1d20+6=11)
Vesh stumbles into the room and somehow manages to right himself as he sees the mandibled wrathspawn spilling over the edge of the ledge. He loses valuable time having to re-knock his arrow.
"Close ranks!" He yells, immediately seeing that trying moving across this terrain will result in disaster. "Make them come to us! We'll be sliding all around this place.!"
Slidell Stormraven
Slidell hops through the remaining gap in the doorway, and starts to topple on the slanted floor. He leans back, steadies, and smiles. Then curses as his feet shoot out from underneath him and he lands on his bum.
Ref save: (1d20-1=11)
Oooo, so close! If I didn't have a NEGATIVE to my save! grrr,...
"OW!" He says, climbing carefully back to his feet. "Stoopid Evokers can't even build a floor straight,..."
"Look out!" Veran Shouts, circling the carefully balancing mage. Slidell looks up and sees the split-jawed horrors rapidly approaching.
"Oh look!" Slidell smiles, "Wrathspawn! Oh, wait. That's bad."
With my Mage Armor and Prot/Evil up, My AC vs evil should be a decent AC:18. Unless I fall on my bum again. :P
Ehlissa Briez
Ref save+2 from the successful Perception check (1d20+4=21)
Great gods of gaming!
Ehlissa leaps through, balances perfectly, with a grace bordering on the divine.
"To the death." she says calmly, as she readies herself to slay the abominations.
Depending on their init, I may delay to receive a charge, ready an action to attack
Sir Malcolm of Riddleport
Woah Fabes; looks like luck's with you today!
"Oh damn. Its never easy." Mal sighs and draws his rapier, shifting into a combat stance and sticking close to Slidell and staying ready to attack if any of these damnable wrathspawn close on us.

I'm not going to be able to post a map tonight, but I will make it a priority tomorrow. I think we can proceed on description, though, for a round at least.
Two wrathspawn slink towards you from the edge of the platform about 20 feet dead ahead. A third is coming up/down (due to the slope of the room, it's hard to tell) the stairs to your left. Slidell and Salome have both stumbled and fallen just inside the room. The others have advanced beyond them and are forming a defensive circle with Ehlissa in front (nearest the two wrathspawn). Vesh and Malcolm are arrayed to the sides (can we assume Malcolm has the left flank and is nearest the wrathspawn on the stairs?).
Initiative order:
Ehlissa 16+ (dropped due to readied action)
Wrathspawn (1 and 2) 16
Malcolm 16-
Wrathspawn 3 15 (see below)
Vesh 11
Slidell 11- (prone)
Salome 6 (prone)
Ehlissa braces herself and readies to recieve the coming onslaught (as stated above). Obliging her, the nearest creatures hiss and charge, streams of vile drool tumbling from their gaping mouths. The third creature hesitates, warily eyeing Malcolm. and dropping behind him in the init order
I'll let Ehlissa resolve her readied action and post the wrathspawn tomorrow when I get home
Ehlissa Briez
Ehlissa steels herself but fate likes to play her little tricks...
Attack roll (includes fighting challenge) (1d20+8=9)
How the mighty are fallen.

Again, apolgies for the delay. Here is the MAP
I don't think I did this yet, but 180XP for overcoming the door/trap thingy.
Two wrathspawn surge forward. One ducks Ehlissa's off-balance attack while the other makes a run at Vesh.
Wrathspawn attack Ehlissa and Vesh. (1d20+5=23, 1d4+3=6, 1d20+5=12, 1d4+3=4)
The first draws a red line across Ehlissa's torso with its razor-sharp talons. Hit for 6. Vesh staggers and dodges the second.
Ehlissa: DC 13 Fort save or sickened
The third creature hesitates briefly on the stairs.

JSL, don't sweat the delay, it happens.
Vesh trips left (to Q15) to keep the wrathspawn from getting at the fallen Slidell, and a (+1) arrow drawn, he attempts to shoot it in it's infernal jaws!
I know it draws an AoO, but it's my best attack!

Mal dashes nimbly over the debris covering the floor to the one on the stairs, jabbing viciously at it and then withdrawing ever so slightly, trying to parry its blows as best he can.
Malcolm's blow strikes true, sending the creature back a step. It lunges forward, a fury of shredding claws and gnashing fangs. Mal is able to counter its blows, but in the process leaves himself vulnerable to its bite. The creature lunges to move past him. 5' step to R11.
Wrathspawn vs. Malcolm (1d20+5=16, 1d4+3=6, 1d20+5=17, 1d4+3=6, 1d20-1=18, 1d6-1=3)

Vesh lunges to the left, throwing himself between the creature and Slidell. As he does so, the monster lands a brutal roundhouse blow to his neck, opening a wide gash and washing the platform in a cascade of red blood.
Nothing makes my day like a crit on an AoO. 10 damage and obligatory DC 13 Fort save. (For the record, your attack will miss if you fail the save.)

Vesh
Vesh had better not miss, then. Vesh's FORT save (1d20+2=20).
Vesh sees red as he is hit in the neck, but somehow maintains his grip on the bow. He fires.
Eat arrow, bastard. He thinks as a gurgling sound wells up in his throat.
You're correct a/b the CLW. He's now at 2/17. I gambled--nice hit.
Sir Malcolm of Riddleport
"Dammit!" Mal shouts, as the creature takes a bloody chunk out of his shoulder and springs past him. He feels something hot a viscous dripping from the wound in his shoulder and a barely controllable rage fills him "You sorry son of a whore!" he shouts, ready to dart forward and hack the creature to bits.

The creature staggers back as the arrow slams into its face. A stream of black ichor mixes with the red blood creating a horrific, yet strangely Korvosan, tableau.
Slidell Stormraven
Slidell is starting to climb carefully to his feet when Vesh slides in front to block the Wrathspawn from being able to reach him, and takes a terrible hit to the neck for his trouble.
"Da##it! NO!" Slidell shouts, full of fury. He finishes rising quickly to his feet, and lets the useless-in-melee crossbow drop to his side. He begins casting a spell, only his narrowed eyes and clipped, almost bitten words indicate his anger.
"Hang in there Vesh, calvary's coming." He mumbles as he finishes his incantation, and a golden globe begins to form in his hands.
If I am correct, standing from prone is a move action? If so I do that, (more for the dex bonus to AC than anything else), and cast Summon Monster I. The critter appears on my turn next round and acts. Vesh, may I suggest Full Defensive, I believe it gives a +4 to AC if you do only that.
Salome
Seeing the mayhem unfolding around her, Salome gets up as quickly as she can on the slanted and disorienting surface.
"Many or one? Many or one? Which is more valuable? Which is the more worthy cause?" The flies' buzzing in the tent mixed with Mejjur De's droning lecture. "It's a matter of resources: help the most people with the least amount of effort..."
Salome reaches over to Vesh and, pressing a cloth to his bleeding neck chants quickly in Qadi. CLW (1d8+4=11)
"We are all one," she whispers.
As he picked her up, she asked, "Why did you come for me?" Her eyes were swelling shut, but she heard the calm voice of her rescuer: "Help should be most given where it is most needed."

Ehlissa connects with a glancing blow, throwing the creature in front of her off balance and turning it just enough that she is able to fend off its most vicious attacks with her shield.
Hit once with a claw for 4 damage; DC 13 Fort save. (Also, I noticed that Ehlissa's hp total seems low on the profile. She should have 1d12+2d10+3, right? That should be at least 25.

The creature takes a 5' step to Q14.
The other wrathspawn shifts to the side 5' step to Q17 and leaps towards Slidell, who somehow manages to slip its grasp.

Thanks for the healing, Dreamer! (Vesh is now at 13/17.)
Vesh is filled with warmth and vitality as Salome touches the cloth to his neck. As the wrathspawn lunges at Slidell, Vesh tumbles beside it (to P17) and then slides over to flank it (P18).
As he moves, he grasps his bow with his off-hand and draws Ameiko's dagger. Vesh stabs at the wrathspawn's exposed flank.

My turn again already?!? Happy Easter everyone BTW!
The ball of light finishes coalescing in Slidell's hands. He casually tosses it so that it lands behind the Wrathspawn, right next to where Vesh moved.
It explodes soundlessly, the flash of light coalescing into a ring of light formed of glowing runes. It shines brightly again, flaring and fading to reveal a small form on the ground behind the Wrathspawn.
It is a dog, and it glows faintly with its own, inner, light.
"Hey Fang-Face! I brought you a playmate! Actually I brought it for the goblins, but I think he'll like you too!" Slidell steps to the side and unslings his staff as he shouts,... "MORI AELOR!"
The golden dog glows even brighter as it lunges with a furious growl for the split-jawed horror. As it lunges Slidell swings his staff like a bat at the creatures' head.
