Hey y'all:
I am running the Invasion of Redgorge in my SC campaign and I ran into a bit of a problem. Terseon Skellerang plays quite a big role in the whole invasion and yet, nowhere in the SCAP book is he given a stat block! What were those folks at Paizo thinking? :)
In any case, can somebody either provide me with the stat block that they used in their game or point me to some resource where this might be given. I may never need it in the game, but better safe than sorry.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Those fools! It's a shame you don't know any of them, or else you could ask. :-)
Anyway, a practical (if uninspired) answer: the introduction to the book does provide his class and level, so if all else fails you could always fall back on that.

Lisa,
glad you'r running the invasion of redgorge :)
I'm putting up my version of skellerang's stats on theRPGenius for you.
Have fun.
Hey Chef:
Thanks much! Like you, I decided that the invasion of Redgorge was too important to the storyline to just gloss over. So far, I had Skellerang (under the diress of a charm spell) lead three squads of guards on an assault of the gate. My characters figured that he was under some sort of spell, so they put Terseon into a Otiluke's Resilient Sphere and then beat back the 1/2 orc guards. They convinced the human guards through diplomacy to let them capture Terseon and cast Protection from Evil on him. Once the Sphere went away, they grappled him into submission and cast P.Evil on him. This broke the charm until they could get a dispel through.
Later that day, they got a Sending from Sgt. Krewis that he and his squad of humans was under attack and holed up in a building by the river. So my group had Terseon, a few of his men, and our paladin go out to negotiate with the 1/2 orcs led by the Blue Duke, while the rest snuck out the back to rescue Skylar and his group and get them back inside Redgorge.
The interesting thing is that the players know that the demons are coming from the Demonskar, but they can't get any of the Cauldron guards to believe them. Next game session, the demons arrive!
Should be a blast! Thanks for suggesting the playing out of the battle Chef!

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for sharing your DMing of the Invasion of Redgorge.
I must admit that I wasn't too keen on the premise of this, coupled with the Test of the Smoking Eye which seemed to take players in a completely direction whilst trying to find a solution, I was thinking about skipping or playing down parts of this.
Am I right in assuming that your players are dealing with the situation (Terseon and the forthcoming demons) before going to the Starry Mirror, or have they completed that section and are now dealing with the repercussions of Alex Tercival's death?
The way you are running this may actually make me reconsider the invasion, and perhaps even expand on it. Therefore I would love to hear more about what occurs with your group, concerning the invasion.
Regards,
Luke

I am running the invasion after the Starry Mirror. There is a really good chance that our paladin/group leader will end up as the captain of the town guard for Cauldron when this is all said and done, which wasn't in my plans originally. :)
I plan to run Test of the Smoking Eye next, but will have a different way to get the group to Occipitus than the one in the book. More on that as events evolve.

I'm with you on that one. That's hilarious!
Your Redgorge scenario sounds great, Lisa. I don't like the way this is played down in the adventure as it's a really good opportunity for characters to display some leadership and feel important. Thanks for sharing.

There is nothing wrong with Australian bands ;) Most of them have lasted longer than Dungeon and Dragon magazines have.... :(
I have started on the Invasion of Redgorge document but it is still very unpolished and unfinished so suggestions are more than welcome -
Invasion of Redgorge
Special thanks to Chef’s Slaad for his thread and ideas that inspired many of the work found here.
The Invasion of Redgorge occurs after the very tumultuous period in Cauldrons recent history. The Chisel, an organisation who reveres Sundabar Spellmason -Cauldron’s founder, had attempted to usurp the cities corrupt government beginning with the captain of the guard. This challenge, coupled with a huge tax riot, also organised by a member of the chisel, was all the motivation and justification the government needed to destroy the ‘renegade’ cult.
Once the tax riot was dealt with, Teresong petitioned the council to lead a pre-emptive strike against the Chisel and the town that protected them. The leaderless council voted to take action, mainly due to an impassioned speech from Lord Vhalantru, and Teresong immediately began to gather as many of his guard as the city could spare and march towards the unsuspecting town of Redgorge.
Vhalantru informed the Cagewrights of the fortuitous events and Dry’yrd organised that the lord of the Demonskar be told that Redgorge will soon be severely weakened and ripe for conquest.
Nabthatoran saw an opportunity he had been waiting for thousands of years for and immediately gathered his banished army and marched on Redgorge.
Without aid, Redgorge was destined to fall ….
Summary of Events
Event One - Arrival
The party arrive at Redgorge as Cauldrons human guard and the half-orc mercenaries arrive outside the walls. Captain Teresong issues an ultimatum to the Chisel which is refused. The siege begins.
Event Two – Teresongs Betrayal
Teresong leads a force of half-orc troops from the gates and to the breach in the basalts in an arrogant attempt to finish the conflict before the town can make any preparations. The half-orcs retreat quickly leaving Teresong’s body lying on the battlefield, two axes left in his back.
Event Two – Battle Plans
The party meet with the Chisel to discuss the situation and to organise the town’s defences. Redgorge is outnumbered and ill prepared for a siege.
Event Three – Town Defences
The town’s defences can be improved in a variety of ways before the Chisel predict the siege will begin including rebuilding the basalts, building a trebuchet, repairing the town well, training the citizens, preparing the church, gathering the armoury, constructing the towers, and retrieving huge blocks of stone for the Foreman to construct golems from.
Event Four – Counter Attack
The attackers can be weakened using methods such as destroying their siege engines and tools, creating a copy of their battle plans, convincing Skylar and the human guard to leave or even change sides and assassinating Teresong and/or the Blue Duke.
Event Five – Surprise Assault
Just before dawn the gathered forces attack the gatehouse attempting to breakthrough. In the conflict they manage to destroy the first of the gates but are hopefully are turned back. The human forces have been reduced to half their number whereas the half-orc merceries remained back and have been barely harmed.
Event Six – Nabthatoran’s Demons
After the conflict the party witness a great horde of demons march from the Demonskar towards Redgorge. Nabthatoran issues a horrific warning before setting up camp infront of the other gates. That night a group of vrocks fly over the wall and attack.
Event Seven – Sundabar’s Preparation
The party learn of the basalts abilities and attempt to find Sundabars hidden stockpile of weapons to help defend the town against a future infernal assault. The party descends into the old tomb of the cities first Captain of the Guard and face the traps and guardians beneath to retrieve the weapons.
Event Eight – The Chisel and Sergeant
The party rush to defend the Chisel from an assassination attempt lead by Nabthatoran’s sergeant – Dreghakus, and a strike team of powerful demons with the Redhead Miners Inn. The death of the demons signals the beginning of the Invasion of Redgorge.
Event Nine – Defence of the Gatehouse
Under the cover of night the Half-Orc Merceries and Demonic army attack Redgorge. The party are left to defend the most important defence point of the assault, the Gatehouse, where they battle the Blue Duke and his personal ogre mage guard from opening the gate.
Event Ten – The Demonic General
As the conflict begins to turn the way of the defenders, Nabthataron and two advanced vrocks, fly to the battlements and begin to face off against Alek and/or the party in the final battle.
Conclusion – The Aftermath
Nabthataron, the Blue Duke and their armies are hopefully defeated and what’s left of their forces, flee back to the Demonskar or the half-orc camp.
Let me know what you think. I've written up the skeleton of the adventure but I haven't patched it all together yet so any advice, particularly from people who have run it or are running it would be extremely useful (I'm looking at you Chef and Lisa :))
