Something new!?!?!

Off-Topic Discussions

I hate to say it but i recently became rather bored with dnd, but a friend of mine saved the day by showing me this new game that he and a few of his college buddies made up.

The game is called broadsword and runs off 2d6 and more or less a if u want to do it you can if you can explain it. I dont want to waste my time typing if this isnt going to be read, but if anyone wants the specifics i can post them on this tread after some feed back.

Scarab Sages

Post away. I would love to read it.

Well the game is, as said based of 2d6, so u generate your character with this(i will put the charts up in a day or so) then along these stats u get base damage to all weapons and your base to hit dex-meelee weapons and agi- thrown or shot weapons. But where i think this game realy shines is in the combat and lvl up system. Combat is based off the number seven. So to atk u take seven minus the baddies ac then add your atk bonus, the resulting number is what u have to roll lower than (example. u atk a guy with ac 3 and u have an atk bonus of 2, well that means u have to roll a six or lower) combat is also based on moves like dnd, there are two heavy moves in a round and two light moves in a heavy move, a heavy move is virtually any movement that is larger than five feet. atking with a weapon that is smaller than a short sword is a light move, where any weapon that is one handed and a short sword or larger takes a heavy move, a weapon that requires two hands is a heavy and a light move to swing. Lvling up is something that i am rather fond of in this game unlike in dnd your base stats dont improve over time just because u lvl up, what happens is in broadsword u get three points at the end of each adventure or at points during the adventure what u can do is put these points in to pretty much what ever u want be it hit points your to hit with a single weapon or other abilities like makeing weapons and tools or climbing or even your saving throws. these are the bare bone basics of broadsword, i apologize for not haveing the charts currently on me but i will get them and post them here in the near future, until then i will awnser any question u guys post here.

Alternatives are always good.
