A Billion Swords of Justice (AoW Player Thread with spoilers for first 7 adventures)

Campaign Journals

Hey so my friends and I started a thread for our savage tide game we just started and I thought why don't we start a thread for our AoW campaign.

We are currently 15th level. We are starting the Prince of redhand tonight.

The characters are
Bones, Barbarian 1 Cleric 14 (Steve)
Elijah, Savant ?(I think 10) Warlock 5 (Jeff)
Keiran Paladin4/Ranger2/Tempest5/Monk2/Fighter2 (I multiclassed alot with this character)(Jay... me)
Our Dm is Gabe.
Thats all i'll say for now about their characters because I don't want to take their chance to talk about their character.

So I figured we coudl use this to chat about our adventures, our backstories, and ask questions.

Please be aware we may put some spoilers in here from the adventures we've played but it will be from our persepctive. We also ask that you do not put spoilers from any adventures after Spire of Long Shadows if you post here. Thank you.

Let the fun begin.

The Following is an excerpt from my character Kieran's backstory. It tells the story of his youth and his call to be a Paladin. Just soemthign i've been kicking around in my head for a while, i decided to finallly write it down.

~~~~~~
My name is Sir Kieran, Blade of Heironeous, but that hasn't always been my name. I was born Keiran McCarn. I wasn't born into a noble family, or a proud line of knights. I am the son of a farmer. I grew up helping my father tend the land raise the cattle. We never had much but we had paid off our debts, and the land was ours. We were proud.
My eldest brother, Kyle, was trained to one day take over for my father and run the family farm, and he was a good man for the job. My middle brother, Kevin, was taught the craft of blacksmithing and joined a local military academy to one day protect our land. While my older sister Katherine went off to be coem a Priestess of Pelor, our family's patron deity.
My parents has always planned on this. One child gets the farm, one becoems a military man, one joins the clergy. My parents had never planned on having me. Sometimes, i could hear my father muttering about expenses for the famr, and his little accident that he didn't know what to do with. My mother, however, always told me I was born for a reason, she knew it, but that it was up to me to find out.
When I was 7, my brother Kyle took us sledding during the winter. One fateful day, He fell through the ice with my sister. The tide under the ice was strong and my brother Kevin barely caught my sister, as Kyle got pulled under. As my brother and sister panicked, an overwhelming calm washed over me. I jumped into the water and dove to the bottom pulling Kyle out, then I pushed katherine into my brother Kevin's arms. The tide then got the best of me and pulled me to the bottom.
I remember clear to this day, sitting on the bottom of that frozen river. I head a voice call out to me. "Kieran, you will take up the sword and serve as one of my holy knights," A voice as smooth as a freshly-wrought blade, yet powerful as a lightning bolt called oput. "A writhing darkness will soon cover the land, and only you and the heroes you gather will be able to stand against it."
I responded in my own meek voice. "I will stop this great darkness?"
"No," The voice echoed. "The heroes you gatehr will quell this great evil. You alone have the strength to inspire true greatness in others, it is this power that you will learn to wield against the darkness. Now rise, Sir Kieran, my Shining Blade."
In an instant I felt a power like a great blast of lightning coarse through my body and I propelled my self up and out of the water, landing on the shore by my brothers and sister.
I didn't speak much at all on the way home. That night at dinner, my father asked me if I was ok, clearly thinking that i was still in shock from the experience on the frozen river. I looked into my mother's deep blue eyes, and all fear washed away from me.
"Father", I said standing from the table. "I am going to journey the temple of Heironeous, I am going to serve Him as one of his traveling Paladins."
From that point on my life was never the same.
Shadow Hand Silver Bones. What a cool guy. Just imagine the coolest guy you've ever though of. Bones is the guy he looks up to. He's that cool.
My way to describe Elijah. Open your Paint program. Select The fill tool. Select the color Green. Click the screen in the window.
Hes the guy standing in the middle.
Yes, this is our group. I am the DM. So far, the AoW game has been really fun, in my opinion- and there's a lot of interesting stuff I've tweaked with the adventure path.
To give any interested readers (yeah, like there are any other people that read these) something to think about, before the encounter with Mak'ar the Spellweaver Lich, he referred to the three of them as the "Vaati Scion" (Kierran), the "Dragonborn" (Bones), and the "Emerald Prison" (Elijah). This will be explained, in due time.
Or.... WILL it? Mwahahaha!
Why am i a Prison!? i dont get it! i dont get Jay's either but thats cuz i dont know how to pernounce scion!
But anyway. To further explain my character, I play a Male Grey Elf (Savant/Warlock) Named Elijah Mafeya Steel.
His Father, Mandien, was once an adventurer who had faught in the champions games years ago. Known for not only his effectiveness in a battle, but his sence of style. Mandien became a champion with the help of his trusty Adamantine Spiked Chain and his Glamerd Mithril Fullplate. Soon after winning the games he gave up his life as an adventurer to persue the life of a businesman, becoming one of the largest suppliers of Armor and Weaponry in the City. He soon Married an Elf woman by the name of Aeriya. They had a child which they gave the name Elijah Mafeya. Mafeya was the name of Aeriya's ancestors and Elijah was Mandien's idea of an "Upper-Class" name.
Aeriya died recently after the birth of her only child, Elijah. Being far too young, Elijah had no memory of his mother.
Mandien, being a single father, raised his son in the best way that he knew, as a warrior. However, Mandien soon became too busy with his work to raise his son, sending him to trainers and tutors, sparing no expence for his "little warrior".
The neglect of his father angered Elijah and turned him off to the life of a warrior. With intrest and rebellion in his eyes, he turned to books to study skills and magics. When his father learned of this he scolded his son, forcing him to give up his studies.
Elijah refused his father's wishes. Having learned of a Lore Master in The small mining town of Diamond Lake, he fled the Free City in search of a teacher who would understand him.
