One of my players and I are struggling with the fact that we can find no "official" listing for a Light domain. Are we just not looking in the right place? Is there one somewhere we've missed . . . ?
Perhaps you're just looking under the wrong name? There's a Sun domain that seems thematically similar. The Moon domain also seems workable.
You could try and craft your own-- at low levels the spells are obvious, but what would you provide for high level casters?

It just seemed odd to me that there wasn't a Light domain. (Of course, I don't know that there's a Darkness domain, either.)
We'll end up creating our own, I'm sure. What would you recommend as the Granted Ability for such a domain?

There is a Darkness domain, but no Light domain. There is a Radiance Domain that was in an issue of Dragon a while back (can't remember which issue). The same issue had the Plane of Radiance. Here is what I have on the domain:
Radiance Domain:
Granted Power - You are immune to pattern effects. This is a supernatural ability.
Domain Spells:
1 - Color Spray
2 - Hypnotic Pattern
3 - Searing Light
4 - Faerie Fire, widened
5 - Rainbow Pattern
6 - Rainbow
7 - Prismatic Spray
8 - Scintillating Pattern
9 - Prismatic Wall
Some of the spells are from the issue that first presented to domain, so I don't have the info on them at hand. Although, either the Spell Compendium or Dragon Compendium Vol I might also be a source for this domain.
