It was a fun, fun film. It was very much a gamer-friendly movie. It struck me as more of a ocean-based D&D campaign than a pirate adventure film.
Nothing that happened in this movie is even remotely plausible, and yet, I didn't care. It was funny, chock-full of cool action and effects, and all of your favorite characters turn-up again.
For those who haven't seen it, look for a scene involving Capt. Barbosa's monkey and a Voodoo Woman. It's hilarious.

It was entertaining....not as good as the first one, but not bad. I look forward to the next one.
The movie reminded me of a 3 hour long Scooby Doo episode, however....weird chases, cartoonish action, silliness, ghosts and scary creatures chasing the good guys all the time, monsters, etc.
I give it 3 stars out of 5. The first one was 4 out of 5.

I got something of the same feeling (no Scooby-Doo analogies, though - mostly because that show makes my spleen curl up in pain and horror); PotC II seems to be much more of a kids' movie than the first one.
Still, I'll go and see the next one, too. A good, but far from great, yarn.
