Since one of my players will be playing a diabolus barbarian/sorcerer, I am thinking of adding a side-plot involving a cerebrotic blot in the Mistmarsh. I like the Far Realm article in Dragon from last year. 332 maybe?
I was thinking of having the Far Realm leak influence one of the other tribes of lizardfolk, maybe throw in a lizardfolk sorcerer/alienist or maybe a fiendish green hag alienist. It will give me a chance to use all the wierd alienist ideas I had for my character I was playing in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (which we never finished).
Any thoughts?

Here's what I'm thinking so far. I haven't got to the crunchy bits yet, just the ideas that are rolling around. Spoiler alert for my players so...

The PC diabolus comes from a small enclave of diaboli who live in the Mistmarsh after fleeing the intrusion of the Far Realm into their little corner of the Region of Dreams. This will fit nicely...
I'm thinking of having the BBEG be either a half-farspawn halfling ghoul or a half-farspawn draconic goblin. Classwise either sorcerer or druid. I plan to use the cerebrotic feats and spells from Dragon 330. The BBEG has created a cerebrotic blot in a portion of the Mistmarsh and is in the process of creating/summoning forth Far Realm beasties from MM/MM2/MM3/FF plus Dragon 330. I think that a couple of pseudonatural scrags, mayeb some pseduonatural monstrous spiders, and a couple of pseudonatural crocodiles will fit nicely too. Ironically, the lastest Dungeon has an adventure using some Far Realm stuff but it's been read by one of my players already, and it doesn't really mesh with my idea of a blot in the Mistmarsh.
I figure I'll throw this in sometime after and/or during the Blackwall Keep adventure. My party of 7 will start lagging behind in XP quite a bit by that point.
Any thoughts?

I think that would be really creepy. I am a couple of months away from the Mistmarsh encounters, and that would definitely add an extra edge to the swamp hike (it's already creepy, but this is even more so).
DO you plan on posting any new stats on this thread? I'd like to see them, and maybe use them myself, if you wouldn't mind posting.
Also, do you plan on changing up Illthane, or maybe working out how she might have something to do wtih the blot?

Maybe. If I get aroud to it, I'll either post them here on to the AoW site at rpgenius.

I considered that, but I think I'll leave her alone. I'll just add some nasty stuff in the swamp.
After looking through my books last night, now I'm considering a half-farspawn ettercap sorcerer or druid. With lots of pseudonatural spiders. And some creepy amoebic crawlers, cranial encysters, and gibbering mouthers. And maybe a pseudonatural scrag. Or a pseudonatural rust monster.

Have you thought about a direct connection between the Far Realm and Kyuss? I know Kyuss is all about the undead, but his wormy nature is also very Far Realmsish. The stuff you could do with the campaign running it as a Far Realm invasion instead of an undead invasion would be interesting. Perhaps even a comination of the two? Kyuss was a kaorti cleric/necromancer that chose to embrace undeath as a walking worm, or millions of other combinations.
