Using Dragon 325 in desert campaign

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

I start DMing a desert campaign (first level characters) tomorrow morning at a local game store. Will be using Sandstorm supplement, of course, as we uncover the ancient treasures in the Sultanate of Zeif.

Initially, I plan on salting the initial dungeon with some of the magic items from Dragon 325, including the Sand of Set and the Scarab Charm.

Can anyone suggest any other desert-themed magic items from past Dragon issues that might come in handy in future sessions? It would be most appreciated.

Please ignore the fact I'm responding to my own post.

But I see in the Coming Next Month article in Dragon 333 that none other than Wolfgang Baur is contributing an article on monsters from Arabia.

Yippeeee!

Of course, I have to wait that long .... drat!

Check out WoTC's DnD site. They once ran a series of articles called Far Corners of the World. One of the series included a number of magic items suitable for desert campaigns.
