Does anyone remember a mid 80's issue of Dragon that featured a Wandering Damage chart. It was one of those cruel random things DM's could do to (annoying) players--one I remember was "the next words your character speaks he chokes on and dies." I'd love to give a copy to my DM as a joke Christmas present. I had saved all my old issues of Dragon (there weren't a whole lot I had), but apparently there is a statute of limitations on how long you can leave stuff in your parents basement and they are no more!
ANy help is greatly appreciated!

If you remember what the cover looked like, you could check on here: http://www.paizo.com/store/products/brand/dragon/issues
If it'z out of stock, there was a cd-rom that wotc put on (i think it was wotc) that was an archive of all the old mags.
Other than recognizing which mag, I have no idea. It would be kewl, if they had a table of contents page for the different mags to help someone out. --Maybe someone else knows more. I've never looked up back issues before. I hope this helps tho, somewhat.

Several of the 1984/85 covers look really familiar. I just can't remember for sure. I'd like to say the number was in the 90's for some reason also.
I did try the search--and have still been playing with it--but no luck there.
Someone had mentioned a site called DragonDex as well, I tried there but couldn't find it--I did find another gag adventure I'd completely forgotten about though. I've emailed the web master there hoping he can help.

Just in case any DM's out there were interested in an old chart to torture their players with: the creator of the Dragon Dex was able to tell me that the Wandering Damage Matrix was part of an article called The Cruelest Monster and was in issue #96. I'm happy and impatient now. I ordered it and it shows it was shipped Dec. 2 and I'm still waiting. Anyone order back issues before? How long did it take to get yours? I'm thinking due to the holidays it's just slower than normal.
