The ability to ignore feat tree prerequisites does lead to some interesting combinations. For example, a natural weapon ranger skips Vital strike and takes Improved Vital Strike as his style feat at 10th level.

I'm building a two weapon throwing Slayer, and if I save on some feats that would be awesome(ly broken).

I read your name in the credits of my freshly printed scenario. Pretty cool.

It's great that this is finally being cleaned up. I'm off to mash the FAQ button on several other threads.

Would you be able to retrain later to get the Theurge earlier? I don't think it would really matter, Casting as a 7th level wiz and 5th level cleric at Char 8, is pretty potent if you're managing lots of utility/long term buffs. The build would be most limited by action economy.

EDIT: I found the FAQ, you can not retrain a base class level into a prestige class level. So it looks like at best you're hitting Theurge at 4th level, but using the right class, you could have Wiz 1 / Cleric (trickery) 1 / Something 1 level dip for shenanigans / Mystic Theurge x. I've got some research to do.

The caster level for racial spell like abilities is equal to your hit die. Am I right in thinking that Arcane strike would then scale with your character level?

So in the final battle Mogla-Tor, has cast Spell Immunity (Dispel Magic, and Fireball) on himself.

Spell Immnuity:
The warded creature is immune to the effects of one specified spell for every four levels you have. The spells must be of 4th level or lower. The warded creature effectively has unbeatable spell resistance regarding the specified spell or spells. Naturally, that immunity doesn't protect a creature from spells for which spell resistance doesn't apply. Spell immunity protects against spells, spell-like effects of magic items, and innate spell-like abilities of creatures. It does not protect against supernatural or extraordinary abilities, such as breath weapons or gaze attacks.

And Dispel Magic doesn't allow for Spell Resistance.

How has everyone run this? Was there an errata to Spell immunity after the scenario was printed?

I've thought a little more about this, and I've got a simpler metric. Instead of calculating APL, just count the number of characters in each subtier.

  • If there are more characters in the high subtier than in the low subtier, play the high subtier.
  • If there are less characters in the high subtier than in the low subtier, play the low subtier.
  • If the counts are equal, do what currently would be done for an APL falling between tiers.

I'm still working on how to handle Tier 1-7 scenarios.

In my experiences, this would be effective. How I've dealt with sub-tier edge cases so far has been mitigated by myself or another player switching characters to buff a party playing up, or dropping to lower level alternatives to keep everyone in tier.

What are some of the biggest random nearby objects one could use as a weapon when at gargantuan size? Say 20 starting strength, plus 16 from being huge and plus 2 from enlarge person = 38 STR. So, 3,800 lbs as light load. For fun we'll them a heavy load belt, so total of 12,800 lbs light weight. Could do Muleback cords for even further limits, but we want to save money right? What could a gargantuan sized improvised weapon user use as a weapon within the limits of 12,800lbs?

Your Mom

I'd guess the bell from the church, statues, or boulders. Although your previous allies would make for interesting sling bullets.

I've always been of the opinion that necromancy is morally superior than cloning. I always try to search for something before I start a new post. I also try to read (most) of the thread before adding to it and usually notice the age at that point, which tempers my expectations.
Threads never die. They merely hibernate.

Rage Power:
Once per rage, the barbarian can attempt to sunder an ongoing spell effect by succeeding at a combat maneuver check. For any effect other than one on a creature, the barbarian must make her combat maneuver check against a CMD of 15 plus the effect’s caster level. To sunder an effect on a creature, the barbarian must succeed at a normal sunder combat maneuver against the creature’s CMD + 5, ignoring any miss chance caused by a spell or spell-like ability. If successful, the barbarian suppresses the effect for 1 round, or 2 rounds if she exceeded the CMD by 5 to 9. If she exceeds the CMD by 10 or more, the effect is dispelled.

So our barbarian failed her save against confusion. On her turn rolled low and gets to act 'normally'. Can she attempt to sunder her confusion by smacking herself in the head with spell sunder. If so, is she trying to beat her own CMD?

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

So the first post has "Answered in errata" I must be looking in the wrong place because I can not find the errata for Blood of Fiends.

I tried looking in the FAQ areas as well but came up with nothing there as well.

I recently acquired a boon on a chronicle that states that I've "earned the favor of a prominent Ivy District businesswoman." I plan on using this as an excuse to open a Concert Hall in the Ivy District to perform my Day Job in style.
I've also become acquainted with an extra planar night hag that sent a nightmarish vision to me in my sleep. Whether these boons will be for Weal or Woe remains to be seen.

I am somewhat concerned that when I play the scenario that references these boons, it may be with a different character. I'm not worried about getting some unique or powerful item (although those are welcome), I'm concerned that I'll miss some interesting role play or story threads because of chance.
How does everyone else feel about these mystery boons?

I had this happen when I was running for a group that hadn't ever played tier 4-5. An Ebon Acolytus pinned and sacrificed the soul of Seelah to Lisalla. I was getting really excited when I had pinned the sorceror, but the party pulled through and destroyed my murder robot.

The fear of death has made me very stingy with my prestige to the point where I have banked 36 pp on 40 Fame. After having a great time in

Scenario Plot Point:
Shadow's Last Stand, denouncing a known slaver on the floor of the council
Shana has looked back on her Pathfinder career and has realized her true calling in defending freedom and Andoran.
Being a Knight Captain is pretty awesome.

If for some reason they rule those that make the save count towards the HP total, my characters are going to start buying house centipedes. It is just the prudent thing to do. For 4 copper and less than a pound, a first level character can get immunity to sleep.

Granted you can get some extreme odds in your favor with the other reading through a similar means, but it will be with a larger quantity of a bit more expensive and/or heavy creature, and I wouldn't want to waste the time rolling through them all. If I can just say "I have 4 centipedes on me" and the game keeps rolling, that is a no brainer.

I'm torn between this being an awesome idea that's creative and an opportunity for good role-play (Feeding you local goblin, foiling a plot to poison the duke by getting him to change restaurants) and WHY IN GOD's NAME IS THAT IN YOUR PANTS!!
