So I'm a player in a Table-Top Legacy of Fire campaign and towards the end of our most recent session we encountered Memrach, all huddled away in his room. We came amazingly close to a total party wipe (and I'm fairly certain our DM fudged a few rolls in our favor) even with pulling out all the stops.

I'm fairly certain the DM said the monster was a CR14 and our party consisted of a level 11 Scout, 11 Ranger, 11 Divine Soul, 12 Paladin and 12 Druid. I realize the CR14 is a tough encounter for a party of that level but it seemed especially hard -- almost too hard for a monster of that CR?

I was just looking for input from other players or dungeon masters that've gone through that encounter to see if you had similar issues. We were caught completely by surprised with the encounter -- did we manage to miss some clues that were meant to tip us off about the upcoming Billy Badass monster? Did your group completely chump him? Discuss!

Silliness aside, I have a deep yearning to play me some PBP-- either PFRPG or 3.5 D&D (Eberron, Greyhawk or Other).

I love the new PFRPG book but my Tabletop DM is insisting we play through Legacy of Fire before we up-convert. Woe is me. So PFRPG is my preference but I have a long-standing love affair with 3.5 that I'm in no major rush to skip town on.

Has anyone ever heard Kermit singing after they read the "Gamer Connection" forum name? Someday I'll find it. This gamer connection. The players. The GM. And me.
