Is it possible to use Hand of the Apprentice with the extra action from Haste?

First off this is not an active recruitment post. This is invitation only. Sorry I'm not trying to be a jerk but this is for friends of mine that I don't normally get to game with on a regular basis. With that being said welcome to Legacy of Fire!
In the exotic nation of Katapesh, a land of fortune and wonders, heroes are those with the
courage to command their destinies. Such wisdom leads a daring band to the abandoned
village of Kelmarane with the hopes of reestablishing the once prosperous community. But
buzzards still feast upon the secluded settlement’s corpse: a savage tribe of gnolls
and their bestial allies hold the town in the name of a merciless master known only
as the Carrion King. Can the PCs retake the village from its feral conquerors, or
is Kelmarane but the first bastion of civilization to fall before the hordes of the
mysterious warlord?

I have an idea for a Halfling Alchemist that I'll stat up and post as soon as I can. I'm thinking he'll be from one of the great houses of Brevoy with a country doctor feel to him.

Has anyone stepped up for the SF Bay Area position yet? I'm running a weekly game at my local game shop that's really starting to take off. I'm also planning on running a couple of sessions at Pacificon in about a month.
I'd like to clear the caves first. Unfinished business and all that. I really want to try out my Smite evil ability :).

We got a diceroller!
Check the BBCode spoiler at the bottom of the posting screen for an explanation for how it works. Sweet! Thanks man :)
Hey have you seen the new Pathfinder Companion Seeker of Secrets? They have a whole section on Ioun stones several pages long. Most groups I've played with never really cared for them. But the article showed me something new that I never would have thought of. Using the dull gray used up stones to cast spells like light or silence on. They still float around your head so you get the benefit and still have the use of both your hands. I thought that was pretty cool. Don't know why I didn't think of that.
I just realised that Invisible Castle is down. How is erveryone rolling dice these days?

Forgive me, but are you aware that your consanguineity shows remarkable phenotypical attributes common to outsiders of the so-called 'Upper' Planes? Though, to be quite honest, I'm not certain what linguistic justification there might be for such a phyical directional term in the metaphysical context of planar metagraphical morphology. The common tongue quite simply isn't constructed to adequately express concepts so discrete from the mundane Prime Material perceptual framework, despite intersections such as yours! This is why I personally prefer a mathematical relation - in truth, the planes to which I refer would be best described as the 'G set,' as connoted by various planar trait similarities and relatively symptotic interplanar travel requirements. I believe that, with some relatively straightforward work, I could..."
"AHEM."
"What? Oh, ah, yes. Thank you, Jobe. Yes. Ah, we are pleased to make your acquaintance, Mr. Badru."
Badru smiles slightly,"Just Badru is fine. And it is equally pleasant to make your aquaintance as well."

Anything for or against either? Well, if Kevin B is building a barbarian/cleric the barbarian/witch may be a little redundant. Also if you build a human paladin you could play Vladoff, which would give some continuity. You are free to develop him as you please (including the name). That's my SEK 0.02 at least. Do as you please. Touche.
How about an Aasimar Paladin from Qadira or the local equevilant?
Actually that was supposed to Half-Orc Barb/Witch

I have several ideas but the one I'm leaning towards right now is some kind of half-orc.
edit: unless BT will let us use monster PC races :)

Ah ha indeed! Looks like I was too greedy without even realizing it :). Thanks for clearing that up for me. I will go ahead and keep the GM screen, I'm sure I can find a good home for it! And for the record Paizo rocks!

That's curious because it looks like I was alrady charged for that in order #1294137. Can you please verify that I wasn't charged twice? Thanks!

HI! Can you please explain to me why I was just charged $21.02? I checked my order history and found nothing there that fits that charge.

Hp 1d8+1 (for favored class)=4.
Gained Evasion as a new ability
Gained Scorpion Strike as Bonus Feat
All Saves went up by 1
BAB went up by 1
All skills gained 1 rank each
I think that was about it. Next level I plan on taking Agile Maneuvers, which will bring my CMB from 0 to 5! Congratulations, Thalyn! You've certainly had to be patient to get to this point, haven't you? I also like the idea of the diminutive monk giving the giantess barbarian a what-for, by the way. Thanks! I might even make third level if I don't piss off the barbarian too much :P

BT were we supposed to pick character traits? I only ask because I keep seeing references to them in pathfinder products.
Doesn't bother me at all. In fact I think it's quite inventive. Props to you Tom!
Well I survived yet another Con. I braved hoards of rampaging mutants and survived the insidiousness of Chaos. And I even managed to do some gaming... :P
Thanks Tom. I have Con this weekend (woot!) but I'll try to post as often as i can once i get into the game.
Shisumo wrote: thalyn wrote: Sandros is an awesome character so do what you feel like. Where do you see the arcane ability coming from? His elven heritage? That would be cool. One of the ideas that's been floating through the back of my head, but has never quite been important enough to make a big deal out of, is that he studied magic in theoretical terms during his training among his elven family. It's why he already has Spellcraft, for instance. But it doesn't seem too great a stretch to have him go ahead and start casting some spells. That's what I was thinking. Seems like your leaning that direction anyways. It would tie in your family background a little more and give you more flexability. Of course WorsT has a good point. You trade off AC for spell power. As for me I'm all about the roleplay damn the consequences!

Shisumo wrote: Since I assume we're going to be leveling once we finish this fight, I've been trying to make a final decision on which way I want to take Sandros. To help me decide, I've sketched out three versions of him as of 9th level (which admittedly skips a lot of the important stuff in the meantime), to sort of see where I might end up. I'd like some input from the group on these: which of the following characters would you prefer to have fighting on your side in a few levels? Sandros is an awesome character so do what you feel like. Where do you see the arcane ability coming from? His elven heritage? That would be cool. If anything I see him as a very dextrous fighter so a duelist works very well for him. The fighter has a lot of feats by ninth level which is a huge plus but I don't see him going that route. So either the Eldricth Knight or the Duelist I guess.
I'm definitely leaning toward either the monk or the barb/sor. Proteus would like the monk because he would finally have an advocate for less violence. The monk is modeled on Uncle Iro from The Avatar cartoon (cartoon not anime because it's not from Japan). The barb/sor is a lot of fun to play but might end up like the others :(. Of course I could play a paladin with all their righteous smitey goodness. Serious buttkicking and healing yay!
Does anyine know if you can use Weapon Finesse with unarmed attacks? It says you can use it with Natural Weapons but I'm uncertain if that carries over to unarmed. If I can then the monk will probably be the one I pick.
So a half-orc barbarian/sorcerer, a human monk and half-orc ranger walk into a tavern...BT didn't go for my first choice of new characters and I would like to see what you guys think. The three guys listed above are all candidates. The barb/sorc is a character I've played for years in my table top games, the monk is already an alias (goes by the name of Jiro) and the ranger is just something I was kicking around.

Of course, that may be a little optomistic of me considering our current situation. I've been talking to BT about it and waiting to see if he'll bless it or not.
...and I finally got a chance to get ahead in a game...

For the record my previous post was purely in jest. I'm just naturally sarcastic that way :) I've played enough Paranoia that losing a character just isn't as traumatic as it used to be. I appreciate the effort in trying to save Rana but I would feel completely awful if we got a TPK here.

My order has been pending for about two or more weeks now and I was wondering if it was gong to be shipping anytime soon? Thanks!
Don't like seeing your favorite character killed off?
Then hire a character from Thalyn's Emporium of Characters! At T.E.C.(tm) we pride ourselves on coming up with inovative ways for our hired characters to die so yours don't have to!
Undead ogre's? Wily goblins? No problem!
T.E.C.(tm) has the perfect solution. Just throw one of our ready made characters at the face of adversity so your own characters can make a clean get away!
T.E.C.(tm) Creating characters to die for you, so yours don't have to.
really guys, I'm not bitter at all :P
I have a character I'd like you to take a look to see if he is right for the game. I'll send you his character history tonite when I get home.
Black Tom wrote: For the record, I'm not out to get thalyn. :o) But the last time I ran this battle, two PCs were killed, so tread carefully No sweat BT. I'm certainly not taking it personal. It's been a hell of game so far :) ...now if I can just get a character past 1st level!

Just north of San Francisco, it's happening over Pres. Day weekend. I remember that BT is out of the country but I couldn't remember what other peoples geoloc was.
Just out of curiousity...anyone happen to be going to the DunDraCon gaming convention in Cali next month?
AinvarG wrote: Wow. I'm so glad to hear it sounds like she's well on the road to recovery. And welcome back - you can have my goblins! ;-)
And it's my pleasure to step in when necessary, so if you need downtime for your mom, just let us know. We understand.
Thanks and I'm more than willing take any goblins you might have =)
WorsT wrote: That's pretty serious. Glad to hear your mom is doing better. I'm sure it was scary. Thanks...and it was. I'm an AF medic so I've been around a lot of bad things but when it's family all that training goes right out the window.
Shisumo wrote: Wow. I am very happy to hear that things are going well for her now, and step this way for all the goblins you might care to squash! I might almost feel sorry for the next goblin to get in my way...might!
Just so you know what happened, my mom was diagnosed with Fungal Pneumonia and had part of her left lung removed last Friday because of it. The surgery went well but she needed to stay in the ICU longer than anticipated. She is finally doing better and breathing on her own again. I think the worst is over and she will be going home in the next few days.
...so if anybody can point me in the right direction to the nearest goblin I have a lot tension and stress I need to work off :)
And a personal thanks to AinvarG for keeping Rana in the game for me. I love the way you handled Ka'kara and the fighting so far! Thank you!
I'm sorry I'm behind but my mom is in the hospital right now. So if Royl (who did an outstanding job last time) can run me for the next couple of days I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Sorry for not posting more regularly the last couple of days. Been running around and drinking my butt off!
I did want to chime in about the healing potion discussion. I think AinvarG is right. Any items that benefits the party as a whole or in part should come from party funds. That being said I don't have any problem giving up some of my share of the money. I'll give up to 300gp to the cause.

AinvarG wrote: Dark Arioch wrote: As to what to do next. Hmmmmmm, By the "crypt" what are we talking about? The crypt actually refers to an encounter from before Ka'kara's joining the group. First night, actually, in game time, that we were together. A random encounter at night led to us chasing a ghoul through the darkness and finding a crypt full of undead. If memory serves, there were at least three ogre zombies and a veritable horde of others. The dead ogres took Sandros to zero and he used a CLW to survive. Thalyn's first character, however, was not to lucky. Several members of the party swore to return and clean it out when we were powerful enough. I'm not sure we are there yet, but it's still a goal for us. Thanks for the recap AinvarG. I hate to say it but I'd forgotten where the crypt was and had assumed it was something that happened while I was out of the game. I have to agree that the crypt is something better left alone for the moment. Lets finish finding Fenton and figuring out the other mysteries in the dungeon before going back there.
We have a lot loose ends but it seems that a good deal of them can be accomplished in the dungeon. I'm for heading back down as soon as possible. We can find Fenton, clear the crypt, confront goblin kings and dragons and all kinds of goodness.
If nobody minds I'd like to avail myself to 1 everburning torch, 1 winter cloak and 1 pair of winter boots from the pile of loot.
