spoiler:

So the current party consists of a fairly lawful and good group, who have gained a reputation is Sandpoint to pretty much try to not kill anything and instead capture and send them up to Hemlock to deal with.

Tsuto was captured, Lyrie was captured, Orik has joined up with Hemlock as second in command. Unfortunately RipNugget and Nualia had to go(more by accident, barbarian falchion PA, crit yadda yadda). The most surprising prisoner is actually Koruvus. I ended up running him as a Chaotic Evil character but with a toddler or puppy dog mentality( Think Kog'Maw for any League of Legends players out there). After Thistletop, Hemlock arranged for the party to escort the prisoners to Magnimar for trial where they are to hand the prisoners over to Ironbriar(HUEHUEHUE).

Obviously the party unknowingly allowed for these baddies to be let loose once more! While I have figured out how to reintegrate Lyrie and Tsuto back into the plot, Koruvus is a little bit tougher. My plan is to have him basically become a Bandit of the Loast Coast road, Ambushing caravans and eating horses. This will lead to Hemlock requesting the party to check out whats going on and stop it if possible.

This is going to be after book 2 and before book 3. I plan to have Koruvus be a CR 8 encounter, but I need some advice on how to progress him. Its a bit harder for me because of his "uniqueness".

I was thinking progressing further in fighter, maybe dipping into ranger or barbarian. Give him a greataxe and a handaxe and maybe some hide armor.
-Should I be upping his Fast Healing to 2 or 3?
-Should the potency of his breath go up? maybe Ability Focus?
-The party, through donations & Parlays & the destruction of all evil aura items, has missed out on 15,096 gold in stuff. Should I give Korovus some fun toys?
-Has anyone ever had Koruvus make a come back before?

Howdy all so heres the quick rundown.
My party of 5 that I am Gming for consists of
Human gunslinger pally
Human alchemist very quiet
Half orc barbarian low int but is very over awed by everything and is rather respectful for it
Elf magus asks most the questions
Halfling oracle who is super good

So the party is nearing the end of book 1 and has missed out on about 7000 gold. They made a deal with Gogmurt so he woukd kill them with entagle. They failed the perception check for the chest. They avoided confrontation and offered Orik the chance to help them instead and give him 50 gold for it too, he kept all his gear too. The party consistently subdues the enemies. The paladin is planning to take as many prisoners as possible and have them after nx shipped to Magnimar to be put on trial. So far they have:
A goblin from the festival
Koruvus
Tsuto
Lyrie
A goblin from birdcruncher tribe
I wouldnt be suprised if they got Nualia too next session.

So in lieu of the group missing out on gold and i still have them leveling up when the book says so I nthink i need to put in another encounter. I think the best thing isto ask the party to escort the prisoners to Magnimar but im not sure what I should do in terms of the encounter itself. I was thinking of creating a small mercenary rival group who would be paid by X to get Lyrie and Tsuto. Im uncertain about the difficulty of this type of encounter and dont want the party to get tooo much gold.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

Hey all,
So I just picked up the ROTRAE about a week ago and I have read through to just about the end of the Hook Mountain Massacre. I'm going to be GM'ing for 4 of my friends and I was hoping to get some pointers on running this thing well.
The party comp is a little weird but I think it'll be okay. We are running 20 point buy system.

-Male Half-elf Bard, high Cha and a Decent Str: He's taking Grease and CLW, which looks like 2 pretty good choices.

-Male Aasimir Magus most likely Str Based with Shocking Grasp for High damage. Personally not a fan of Evocation but on the Magus it works.

-Female Sylph Inquisitor, Good Wis and Str, took Growth Domain and runs around with a Trident, Took CLW as well and Break Bonds.

-Female Drow Urban Ranger, High Dex Crossbow style. The rest of the group doesnt know the race and she plans to wear scarf, goggles, hood and such to hide her race.

So my questions are this:

1)Do you think this group can survive past Foxglove Manor, I have a feeling someone is going to kill themselves. My worry is that without a cleric or paladin all the group can do is try to make saves.

2)How can I use the Magus to hint at Nualia, maybe a few comments thrown in about how he reminds them of this poor girl who "died" a while back.

3)What do I do about this Drow thing? I mean if the NPC's find out about her during the Goblin Raid or not long after how would they react? Im thinking they should be hostile towards her until she hits level 3 at which point she can take Sandpoint as her Favored Community.

4)I think Aldern will become obssesed with the Sylph while the bard will be asked to go check out some rats..cough..cough. Seems good right?

5) Apparantly Im supposed to keep track of the PC's sin an Virtue and there are some good examples in the book, but does anyone else have any advice on how they did with this/ did anyone bait their PC's at all?

6) The last haunt in the manor causes the PC to want to eat some nummy nummy mushrooms, do these mushrooms cause the PC to have to make a save vs the nasty disease running around?

And Finally, does this party need a 5th? Ideally another friend but if I cant find one, a DMPC adventurer or the archer elf(blanking on name)set her to same level as the party and have her help at Thistle top, then have a cleric/pally join for the Foxglove Manor and to deal with X(I heard she's a TPK monster) and then have the elf return as per book 3. The other option would be to run 4 man until the bard hits 6 and then he can take leadership.

Sorry for the long post :)

*Edit: Also are there any suggestions for secondary material? I have Beginner Box map and figs as well as ROTR face cards.
