Dotting for interest, thinking about either paladin or cavalier. I'm new to PbP, and will post my character later this evening.

Ridiculously high CON to counteract excessive drinking, low WIS, probably high CHA

I might actually look at building him around the Buccaneer archetype for Human Gunslingers.

Haha, nice!

"What, Lana?! I clearly called skipper. And I clearly said ‘seatbelts’ so you only have yourselves to blame."

The only other 3e/3.5e type games that I can even think of right now would be the BG: Dark Alliance series...though they're much more hack 'n slash and rules light, but I had a darn good time.

If I remember correctly, Torgo was supposed to be some kind of satyr, but the prosthetics were put on backwards...

Maybe Merlin as a crappy wizard? Or Arch Hall Jr. as, well, Arch Hall Jr.?

Agreed with Patrick on the sword part. Saif al-Jin bin Nar, or Sword of the Jinn, son of fire/flame.

Pronunciation would be pretty much Saif al-jean (like pants), bin Nar. And if you're interested, it would be written سيف الجين بن نار.

If you prefer, other words you could substitute for Nar are "niran," (neeran) which is flames, or "hariq," (hareeq) which is more like a massive fire like a forest fire.

Hope this helps!

Perhaps this is just me, but 5000 gp plus 2000 for the restorations is a small price to pay for something that just isn't easily done. If a character dies, you only have a few options: Raise them with an expensive spell, make a new character, or plane shift and hope you can find them in time. Plane shift puts you 5d% miles away from your intended destination. Where's your destination? Where's the PC's soul? It could be anywhere on a plane that you assume he/she went to after death. There's no way of knowing, and you could be there forever. And again, raising the dead is soul-wrenching, hence the negative levels/Con drain when the person (if they want to) comes back.
