Paizo doesn't make HeroLabs. That is a wholly independent product that is not even officially supported by Paizo.
O RLY ?
I have a terrible memory, but that really isn't a main point.

The point of my OP remains valid, even if you disagree. I expect Paizo would want to support Hero Lab, albeit in a limited capacity, as it draws further attention to PFRPG. I do not feel the question posed in my OP to be out of line as inferred by your replies. If the official answer is no, then I suspect PFRPG/Hero Lab users will grumble, and begin sharing NPC portfolios on these forums and the supporting forums at Lone Wolf.

And if Paizo has no investment into the number of PFRGP players that use Hero Lab, why even bother to agree to license PFRPG content with Lone Wolf? Your statement is confusing to me...

I recently purchased Hero Lab to use for two PFRPG APs and as an aid when I GM PFS events in Grand Rapids. As I also have a current subscription to the PFRPG adventures and APs, I was wondering if the fine folks at Paizo had any plans of providing the HL portfolios for the major NPCs in either of these product lines as a download on their site? As HL is the official character generator tool for PFRPG, I would assume that at least one developer in-house is using this tool on some level.

Thanks.

Thanks for the candid replies. While I was aware of the +1 APL for larger parties, I had not seriously considered bumping the opponents to the next highest tier as a viable option. I was wrong. In the immediate, it might not be feasible as the characters are all new 1st level PCs, however, if I am unable to to split the group into a table of 4 and 3 (plus one GM-ran NPC) then I will immediately follow the +1 APL guideline.

Thanks again.

I will be running 'Mists of Mwangi' and 'Voice in the Void' as back-to-back sessions for our newly formed PFS group. While Mists is a bit straight-forward and obvious, I like that it is a shorter scenario and will allow me time to review the PC sheets for errors before we begin the first session.

With all the love 'Silent Tide' is getting in this thread, I will roll this scenario out after completing 'Voice in the Void'.

I will begin GMing PFS scenarios early next month and I expect to regularly have 5-7 players at the sessions. Before we actually begin play, I had a few questions that I would like to ask of the more experienced PFS GMs.

Can a PFS GM 'legally' assign max HP to all opponents during combat encounters for sessions in which there are 6-7 players?

How much 'wiggle room' does a GM have when running a scenario with regards to NPC/opponent stat blocks? Can I alter spell lists or skill point assignment or feat selection, so long as the changes do not excessively alter the 'flavor' of a NPC or encounter?

Just posting to let anyone who happens to be reading this know that I have posted the APG pregens to the Pathfinder RPG Yahoo group and submitted them to the Pathfidner Database as well. If anyone needs them this weekend, post here and I'll try to email them to you.

Shisumo, outstanding work! I'd love to get a copy of these pregens, if possible for my kids to use at Gen Con this week. I'll drop you a private message with my email address.

Thanks!

Has Paizo considered developing "official" rulesets for Pathfinder over Fantasy Grounds? I know many customers who would pay top dollar for a quality product from Paizo into Fantasy Grounds.

Any thoughts?

Yes, I would pay for this ruleset, as would my players. We've been eagerly awaiting the day when we can play Pathfinder via FGII.

Zizazat & Dark Wolf,

Thank you for the clarification. I have a better understanding now of what was published in the PFS Guide.

Twowlves, please continue to thread crap if it makes you feel better about yourself. I have read the PFS Guide and obviously struggled with the understanding of this guideline. I wish I knew why I failed to comprehend this bit of rules, despite reading the Guide twice, nevertheless, I owned up to my lack of understanding and asked you for assistance.

Ok, This has confused the hell out of me for the past 2 years and I'm no longer trying to play it cool as if I understand...

I have registered myself and my teenage kids for two PFS events at GenCon this year. The description for the events state materials will be provided. However, I also noted, as expected, that the two events are for levels 1-7 and 5-9 respectively.

Should I create and register PCs with PFS to bring to the events that are at various levels, such as 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th? I don't want to get to the event and be handed 1st level pre-gens when there are 2-3 other players with characters at 7th level.

Any enlightenment you wish to share with me on this issue would be greatly appreciated (by me and the kids).

I like the GameMastery Combat Pad. I'm shocked to see Paizo doesn't have anymore, I'd check your local gaming stores for it.

Thanks for the reply SirUrza.

I have a Combat Pad however I'm looking for an equivalent to the 4e tool, DnD4e Combat Tracker that uses the PRD as the underlying data source. I am attempting to consolidate all of my DMing resources onto my laptop.

Howdy,

I'm looking for a decent combat tracker that I can use for Pathfinder sessions. I am not concerned if the software/workbook costs money or is free, rather, I am interested in a rich feature set. If you know of such a tool, please share any info you have with me.

Thanks.

Hi all,

I will be running our first PFRPG campaign beginning next month and I can't decide which adventure path to use. I have the first book of both adventure paths but I was hoping to get advice from people that have played Rise of the Runelords and the beginning of Council of Thieves.

Any insight you can provide to support your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

My group is comprised of 8 adult players who all have extensive experience playing 3.5. Half the group first played PFRPG at Gen Con 09 and have since purchased the core book and begun to integrate the PFRPG ruleset into our current 3.5 Ptolus campaign.

Rom,

Sorry to steal your PC idea. If you are strongly tied to it, I could switch to Paladin, which I considered as well. it is completely up to you. I had just thought from your initial post that you were going to be a straight cleric cuz of the undead slayer title. There I go assuming again. Really, whatever you want to do is fine by me. I do, however, need to have quite a strong divine streak for player concept.

Has everyone seen the background on the other thread Shamgar started called "Crimson Conquest Discussion"? Shamgar put a link to it in an avove post. i think thats where he wants all this conversation occuring from now on.

Cheers!

No problem my friend! I'm going to go with an old but true friend...the dwarf cleric! Isnor will be looking to become a Warpriest in the new future (should he live that long).

Magnus Magnusson wrote:

Hello all and welcome newcomer Rom. While Shamgar was running us through the Red Hand of Doom last night, he and I discussed a little of his intentions for our PbP. He gave me NO spoilers, just talked about the setting and the general tone and I am very excited. I will let Shamgar fill you in because he is the DM and is, as such, all knowing, but I will say that the town/ city that we will be starting in for one thing is universally evil and, sorry Dreamweaver, hates elves.

Also, before Rom joined, I was thinking of changing from a tank to a melee/ caster mix cuz of our low magic party. Shamgar and I talked avbout this as well and thought that a nice fit would be a favored soul. I have since fleshed out the character a bit and am going to stick with it. He will be a Hellbred Favored Soul with mostly martial focus(the hellbred race is from Fiendish Codex II). Now with Rom as what I assume will be a cleric type, we should be fine with healing and with a monk, 2 cleric types, a scout, and an arcane caster, we should be fairly potent offensively. I will try to post a history later today or tomorrow. My email is michaelkonas@hotmail.com, use that to send out PC histories, questionaires, etc. Shamgar, are we, the PCs, sharing character sheets, histories, bios or have we never met?

yikes...glad I went back and reread this thread...I was prepping a favored soul as well. I will review Complete Divine again and look for something else. If all else fails, I'll be a straight cleric.

I concur with Charlie's assessment. I will have a char posted by Friday as well. Thanks!

Hi guys. Charlie said there might be room for a 5th wheel in the party and I agreed to take on the role of the undead-bane healer. I'll post my char to the board tomorrow, k?

It is indeed the one that's currently for sale. We're hoping to get the PDF version of it up online as a free downlowd pretty soon here.

Thanks for the update.

howdy guys & gals..

one question. While reading the 'Savage Tidings' article it states that there is a Players Guide to Savage Tides that is available to subscribers of either Dungeon or Dragon. I can assume this is the Savage Tides Players Guide that is for sale, but I was wondering if this product was available as a free supplement to those that had subscriptions, as indicated by the article.

Thanks.
