What exactly do I identify when I’m using Spellcraft to identify a spell? Is it the components, since spell-like abilities, for instance, don’t have any? If I can only identify components, would that mean that I can’t take an attack of opportunity against someone using a spell-like ability (or spell with no verbal, somatic, or material components) or ready an action to shoot an arrow to disrupt a spell-like ability? If there’s something else, how do I know what it is?

Although this isn’t directly stated in the Core Rulebook, many elements of the game system work assuming that all spells have their own manifestations, regardless of whether or not they also produce an obvious visual effect, like fireball. You can see some examples to give you ideas of how to describe a spell’s manifestation in various pieces of art from Pathfinder products, but ultimately, the choice is up to your group, or perhaps even to the aesthetics of an individual spellcaster, to decide the exact details. Whatever the case, these manifestations are obviously magic of some kind, even to the uninitiated; this prevents spellcasters that use spell-like abilities, psychic magic, and the like from running completely amok against non-spellcasters in a non-combat situation. Special abilities exist (and more are likely to appear in Ultimate Intrigue) that specifically facilitate a spellcaster using chicanery to misdirect people from those manifestations and allow them to go unnoticed, but they will always provide an onlooker some sort of chance to detect the ruse.

Notice that psychic casters are specifically cited.

Thanks , perfect explanation.

the cast is full mental , so there aren't movements or nothing .
how the png could understand who is casting or when a pg is casting?
i readed my attack in case of spell, but i can't know when it starts.
So i can't use readed action?
i can't understand who is the caster?

Never mind me, I understand the question now...

Yes, I think the wizard in your scenario would indeed face both attacks.

Not.... quite. If the readied action prevents the wizard from casting the spell (by disrupting it), this rule applies: "If the triggered action is part of another character's activities, you interrupt the other character. Assuming he is still capable of doing so, he continues his actions once you complete your readied action."

So the barbarian gets his readied action, which may disrupt the spell. If the spell is disrupted, the wizard is not capable of casting it and therefore does not trigger an AoO for casting it. If the wizard managed to make the DC 6.023E+23 concentration check, he will continue trying to cast, and thereby triggers the AoO, eating a second attack.

Oddly enough, this is one situation where you are better off missing a check than succeeding.

good explanation,thanks .

hello , i'm having a problem about this situation :
the barbarian is threatening the wizard ,who could not escape.
the wizard decides to cast.
the barbarian had readied an attack action in case of spell.
Now, the wizard will take the readied attack and the attack of opportunity for not having used the defensive casting?
