Thats cool so how do I learn this if its not part of my trained skills. I'm a wizard wanting to buy a cure lt wounds but I'm guessing I can't use it.
Well I'm defiantly noob to PFS but I used to play DND many many many years ago "first edition" so I kinda get it, (well as much as a long hair hippie type can get it LOL) I also have a great PFS network where I play, this is actually my forth PC since I started at the beginning of the year. But I don't get to play as much as I would like, so my other PC's are all lvl 2 and under. Sooooo I guess what I'm getting at is I'm creating this PC for a game on the 29th and just gathering as much info between here and my local folks so when game day comes I can be the most effective. Anyway thanks again for the help this boards are so awesome, everyone is so helpfull Have a great weekend
Not sure I understand the universal wizard vs the specialized... If I'm universal I can choose from any school without having an opposed school, is this the only benefit?? I ask this because It looks like if I specialize in a school I get bonus stuff for that school and negative stuff for the opposition school. Err I think anyway can someone explain for me or do I have it right.. Thanks

Why do you need higher AC for ray attacks??
The Elusive Jackalope wrote: As a 1st level wizard you should have 1 1st-level spell per day. Plus an additional 1 1st-level spell if you are a specialized in a school, and another if you have a high enough Intelligence (12 to 19) or another 2 if your Intelligence is 20 or more. You should have 2 to 4 1st level spells per day, along with 3 cantrips. Your cantrips are spells that are never expended when you cast them and you can exchange them for any other cantrip anytime you prepare spells. So what does it mean in the core when it says your 1 spell a day along with your int modifier. my int is 18 which is a modifier of +4 so shouldn't that mean I have 5 per day? Soooo many rules to look thru LOL also does it also mean thats how many spells I can memorize per day or how many I can use? thanks again
So again a noob question I'm sure. I made a wizard with high int and cha but pretty low strength and dex basically no bonus for either 10 and 11. I really wanted all the int bonus for spells and cha for skills. Sooooooooooooo in doing that my AC is 10, does that seem right? I'm fine with it if it is I wanted to make a true squishy with as much spells as possible, but if I made a mistake and get better AC then of course I'll take it LOL Anyway thanks for the help Dug
Hmm this looks fun I'm going to say 10 would be average since thats what the core starts at right??? Strength I don't look it but I do a lot of work on the mini ranch we have so I think I would be a little above average for my age. Dex, again my age puts me back a bit but I use to be very fast years ago when I was active in my martial arts. Con, again Im 43, but I havent' had any major health issues and I don't tend to get sick much Int, I'm a cadd drafter hmm some days lots of smarts others none at all Wis, again 43 so my life experience gives me a bit Cha, well I really dig being around folks my friends and fam are most important to me, and I can make friends with just about anyone. S 12
So in my younger years Monk for sure, right now prolly just a commoner with interest in sales, politics, maybe even management LOL Hee hee thanks for this thread it was fun reading and participating Dug
Also are style feats for monks different then regular feats? Are these taken in addition to regular feats or instead of regular feats. The one I was looking at is snake and it doesn't do anything until I have 3 ranks in sense motive which I'm guessing means 3rd level since you can only put 1 rank equal to your level in any skill (is that right or did I misunderstand) Anyway thanks again for everyone's responses..

Great thanks again for the info, When I get home I'll have to look in the core again because I found the feat rules for creating a PC but not what happens after lvl 1. Hmmm my wife says I have man eyes and can't see whats right in front of me, thats prolly what the problem is LOL Thanks again

Ha ha sorry I use "toon" instead of character I'm lazy and toon is easier to type, Old gaming days I guess.. Thanks for the info it helps a lot..
Hey all I'm a noob and was wondering about feats. I see you get at least one feat at creation of a toon and depending on your class race etc. you get bonus feats at different levels and such. My question is if your toon starts out with say the basic 1 feat, do you get a new feat every level after that along with the bonus feats at the different levels or do you just get the one feat to start and thats it except for the bonus ones.. Just a noob trying to get it right Have a great day Doug |
