Fate of the Norns is a rune-based RPG set in the Viking dark age of Ragnarok!

Launched: Aug 9, 2012

Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok is designed and written by Andrew Valkauskas (FOTN, FOTN:R, Maize, Infinitum, Somnambulist) and illustrated by Helena Rosova (Mlada Fronta books for children, "Peace with seals" animation CZ/IT co-production) and also illustrated by Richard Kane Ferguson (Magic the Gathering, White Wolf, Marvel).

What is the Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok 20th Anniversary Edition?

The Fate of the Norns line of role playing games are deeply set in Viking history and mythology. FOTN will be turning 20 years old in 2013! To commemorate the occasion, we plan on releasing a special anniversary edition of the latest and greatest offering called "Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok". This version of the role-playing game utilizes Viking runes as the core mechanic to resolve actions and conflicts. We have collected six years of feedback on the runic game system (RGS) and are ready to release a very well balanced and thoroughly thought out core game book.

What is the game about?

Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok is set in the end times of Viking mythology. It guides the players to explore the four ages of Ragnarok and fulfil destiny to the final battle that is prophesied to occur on the plains of Vigrid. At the start of Ragnarok the sun and the moon are devoured by the celestial wolves Skoll and Hati. This plunges Midgard into darkness, and sets in motion three years of continuous winter called Fimbulvinter. As humanity fights to survive, morality breaks down, creating a very dangerous world.

A Viking's most glorious moment is to die with valour in the heat of battle. For if one does, the Valkyries will take the slain champion to the heavens so that they could fight by the sides of the gods and jotuns in the final battle before Surt baptizes the world tree in fire.

...go and read the whole story!! AND you have to see the ART!! OMG!!! So beautiful! ^^
