I'm running RotRL and I was pretty green to tabletop RPGs before I started DMing pathfinder. I decided to let the party go with 4d6 drop the lowest instead of point buy because a player that had more RPG experience than me at the time insisted on it. I'm kind of now regretting it because the players steam-roll through all the encounters. It's almost as if they're operating on 40 point buys, their stats are so high.

So far I'm thinking of switching all monsters in all encounters to the "advanced" template. It's quick to do with Combat Manager.

Can anybody think of ways to scale the game for players who have rolled ability scores? Or can anybody think of some diplomatic ways to convince the players to switch to point buy?

And for those thinking of rolling their scores and running an adventure path, I warn you not to do the same unless you're an experienced DM and can deal with the decreased difficulty easily.

I thought I should share my printable battle map for Boroi Manor from the module The Midnight Mirror.

It's 29x22 inches, 150 dpi, downloadable as a big jpeg.

I created 40x32 inch battle maps for Sandpoint Glassworks and Catacombs of Wrath. It's my first time creating battle maps but I thought I'd share them for those that want to speed up their own dming.

You can download them at my new Pathfinder blog.
