Yes, and it's kind of annoying. :-(

Yay! I'm excited to play in a PFS 1e game or two... or more. :-D

@Shadow Dragon: Yes!

I have a level 6 dwarven Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager), if you need a frontliner.

As a player in that game I would really like to continue.

I also tried to reach out to the vanished GM via their feedback form, but it seems it didn't help. :-/

Is there any GM here willing and able to try and finish this game (#9-05 Call of the Copper Gate) for us? It would be very much appreciated!

Edit: I did not see the revived game until now. Thank you, Grandmaster TOZ! :-D

I decided that I will be sending a brand new character, an Investigator, to cover the scouting needs of the party.

If I fail to create them until the game starts, I'll use the pregen iconic Investigator Quinn instead.

You'll have to step it up, I for one am pretty hard to get rid of.

So am I. ;-)

@roll4initiative: I can also send a level 1 (or 2) character to your Wounded Wisp game, if needed.

I'd also play (despite knowing better, as SD and grimdog are definitely going to unleash the die roller Curse of DOOM!) - haven't played many specials yet...

Thanks for offering this game - in general I am very interested! :-D

Unfortunately, I do not have a currently free CORE character (only one of them would be in the level 5+ anyway). Therefore, playing a pregen is also not an option as I do not intend to build another CORE character anytime soon...

I hope you'll get a party together!

Pyromaniac it is, then! ^_^

Signed up for the 5. spot!

I can bring a new level 1 pyromaniac sorcerer (0XP), a level 1 tanky fighter (2XP) or a level 2 switch-hitter ranger (guide) - depending on the party composition...

I would also love to play higher (and seeker) tier scenarios!

Unfortunately, my highest level PC is a cleric who just got to level 9 (my -1).
I hope to get him and some of my other PCs up to speed in the next few years...

So did I. (for Oathbreakers Die)

I have 3 characters that can play it - I'd like to decide which one depending on the composition of the party...

Question regarding the PFS1 special: Can I play a level 4 character in the Subtier 5-6 standard game?

According to page 11 of the PFS Roleplaying guild guide, for scenarios with more than two subtiers, characters must be in adjacent subtiers to play together.
Seems to me that this condition is met (provided all other characters at that table are between level 3 and 6), but I want to be sure.

(Unfortunately, there is no standard table for Subtier 3-4 of the special.)

Thank you very much for the player boon, Redelia!

The chronicle for Newt Lopo looks fine.

I will post my 2 cents during the next few days - when I have a little more time...

There seems to be a copy/paste error in the FAQ for GMs:

Quote:
What if I want to add a game as a GM after the August 12, 2024 Scenario Support Deadline?

Also, I think the theme Won’t You Take Me to Funky Town sounds great! Looking forward to play! I might even run a PBP game... well, maaaaybe...

Question regarding the scenario support: Is the module Heroes for Highdelve included? I do not know if it is in a hardback book, but I think it fits the theme perfectly - Highdelve is a town in western Brevoy in the Broken Lands.

Yes - I am one of them. I discovered PFS really late and didn't get to enjoy roughly 90% of the content of Season 1-10 before PFS2 was introduced. What can I say: I really like the system, the storylines and the challenges. ^_^

Watery Soup wrote:

As far as I know, the answer is Yes:

Inner Sea Gods p.228 wrote:
Many of the spells in this chapter originated with the faithful of a particular deity and are more common among the worshipers of that god. Such spells are denoted with the god's name in parentheses after the spell's name. Worshipers of the spell's associated deity always treat the spell as common, and need not research the spell in order to prepare or learn it. Despite this, all the spells in this chapter are available to members of other faiths, though some temples or religious organizations may proscribe the use of specific spells. Additionally, arcane spellcasters have unlocked the secrets of casting particular spells.

I'd like to report a small error in the GAMEDAY XIII Event Listing Spreadsheet:

In the PFS1 special tab the formulae in column J (Open seats?) do not include the sixth player info.
Therefore, all tables look like they have open seats although some of them are already full.

As the fields in this column are protected I cannot change the formulae (that's good!).
Please correct it. Thanks!

I think I found the "someone" you mentioned...

On the official Homepage of PaizoCon Online (https://paizo.com/paizocon), if you click on the Button "Get Your Tickets today!" it takes you to this site: https://tabletop.events/conventions/paizocon-online-2024. There, the 3rd sentence reads as follows:

"ALL PaizoCon Online games will be run on the Paizo Events Discord Server: Join the Paizo Events Discord Server!"

The Paizo Forums are not mentioned there, either. So maybe the online VOs should have a chat with the authors of this site?

Thanks for your answer, cmlobue!

Well, now you know why there was low attendance at your Paizo forum tables: I - and probably many others - never got the info they existed!

(And I even asked here a few days before the games started - never got an official answer in this thread.)

Also, I do not have any Seeker-Tier character (yet), so I did not check out the game (PFS1 10-09: The Rasping Rebirth) you announced here in Recruitment...

Question: Did I miss the announcement of PaizoCon PbP 2024?

Or was it never posted in this Lodge?
I wasn't able to find it...

I got an answer to this question via PM (on the same day I posted it) - I was informed that PaizoCon 2024 PbP was held exclusively on Discord.

So I did not attend PaizoCon 2024 PbP as I do not like Discord for pbp games. However, I would have happily joined a few tables if some games had been offered on the paizo forums.

Today I learned that there are/were several tables on the paizo forums - some Starfinder tables, a couple PFS2 tables, a Seeker PFS1 table, and one table for PFS1 #9-09: Beyond the Halflight Path.
This seems to contradict the information about the "Discord exclusivity".

Can someone with knowledge and authority tell me why the existence of these tables on the paizo forums (at least the PFS1) were a secret not mentioned in this lodge?

I thought the Convention organizers would want as many people as possible to attend, so I have no idea why this is/was happening.
Maybe some miscommunication?

I really hope there will still be some tables on the paizo forums at Gameday XIII...

If it's ok with the group, I'd like to seize the opportunity and try my hand at running The Confirmation for you - it would be my first pbp game as a GM.

GM school is going very extremely slow: We started in March and will (hopefully) complete the second(!) of six quests in the next few days.
So I thought that - as a new GM - I might as well grab the opportunity to run a scenario in pbp that I played and also ran as GM(!) in person because there aren't many of these...

Just give me a couple of days to prepare the slides.

Would that be ok for you?

If someone happens to have a Confirmation slide I could copy from and is willing to let me do so, it would speed up the preparation phase considerably.
However, I don't know if copying whole maps (or slides) from someone else is considered bad form/behaviour or even cheating(!) around here - or maybe just efficient. (I am a computer programmer, we copy and then adapt code all the time, so it might be second nature to me...*shrugs*)
Just let me know, please.

And it's possible my 5th level Core PC may be starting on the same Destiny of the Sands trilogy as Nightkit's other PC in a few months.

I added my games. Updated the red highlighted scenarios that indicate at least one of us has played it.
I did not GM any CORE game, so I did not add a 'G' anywhere.

I have only 5 (five) replays, so we should definitely try to do ones we haven't played first.
But I will use them if necessary, of course.
_______________

I am fine with just starting at the top and working our way down.
However, I already played 0-33: Assault on the Kingdom of the Impossible... but I could certainly run it, if you want to play this one.

However, as I am still in GM school I do not want to GM our first game.
Maybe we can skip this scenario for now and I run it as the 2nd/3rd/4th/5th/6th/7th game?

I have no idea how much longer GM school will take.
The table I sit at has stalled horribly, we are still wrapping up the first of the six(!) quests of The Silverhex Chronicles - which we started on Feb 28th! :-O
Hopefully, the other quests will be done much quicker...

The next few on the list that noone played yet are:

0-37: The Beggar's Pearl (1-2, 3-4, 6-7)
0-39: The Citadel of Flame (1-2, 4-5)
0-43: The Pallid Plague (1-2, 3-4, 6-7)

Character creation is going well, I will soon have a correct and complete profile of Cortina Hagen. :-D

Yes, there is:

Trap Finder
Source: Mummy's Mask Player's Guide pg. 10, People of the Sands pg. 31
Category: Campaign
Forgotten dungeons and ancient tombs have always held an appeal for you, and you’ve never been able to resist the urge to delve into these lost sites in search of knowledge, treasure, or both. You may not have received any formal training in the roguish arts, but you’ve nonetheless become skilled at spotting and disabling hidden traps. The tombs of Wati’s necropolis, just opened for exploration, seem like the perfect place to put your skills to the test. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Disable Device checks, and that skill is always a class skill for you. In addition, you can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps, like a rogue.

Unfortunately, it is not CORE and therefore not allowed.

aka GM Kaervek, male human Buerocrat 1

An idea for all the (full or part time) wizards in our group:

As we are a steady group I think it would make sense to keep the cost of more spells down by coordinating which spells you start with and which ones you learn at each level up - and then scribe from each other as much as possible.

I don't know if any of you consider this as cheesy metagaming. However, a steady group means no free copying from other pathfinders' spellbooks because you simply do not meet other Pathfinder wizards (PCs).

Just my 2 cents...

aka GM Kaervek, male human Buerocrat 1

I'm very sure the melees/martials appreciate the Inspire Courage performance of a Bard. ;-)

However, at higher levels, the Trapfinding class ability of a Rogue will be very helpful. Fortunately, he gets it at level 1, so a one level dip could be an option (you'd get Sneak Attack, too). A two level dip would also grant you Evasion and a Rogue talent.

Trapfinding wrote:

Where exactly do they offer that class? I observed good GM's and read Doomed Hero's guide, but beyond that I fear I'm self-taught. And like they say, I was most likely a poor teacher and a worse student, lol!

It was announced in Flaxseed Recruiting in November 2023. Before that, I didn't even know about it. (To be fair, I joined the pbp community only in September 2020.)

You can stalk us check it out here.

Character ideas/concepts so far:

GM TOP: Elf Eldritch Knight, Fighter/Wizard frontliner/arcane self-buffer

bluedove: Druid, frontliner(/divine caster/scout?)

phaeton_nz: fighter, frontliner; maybe wizard(arcane caster?)

Luke_Parry: gish - probably a Ranger/Diviner/Eldritch Knight, frontliner/arcane self-buffer

Ispen Ironblood: bard, support/arcane caster(/disabler? maybe +archery?)

John Woodford: half-elf finesse fighter with maybe a couple of levels in rogue, frontliner/scout/disabler(?)

kaervek78: dwarven cleric of Dena (with the Luck and Travel domains), divine caster/support
(We have more than enough frontliners, so I decided to play the cleric.)

Looks like we have a pretty good mix! I have one question, though:

How are we going to handle traps when it's John Woodford's turn to GM?
Will Ispen's bard skill DD? (and maybe somewhen take 1 level of rogue, too?)

Your opinions will be appreciated. ;-)

aka GM Kaervek, male human Buerocrat 1

Hello everyone! :-)

My name is Chris, I am nearly 46 years old and I have been playing PFS1 scenarios since 2018 at my local RPG club.
I have also played several other systems: AD&D, D&D 3.5e, DSA, DSK, D&D 5e, Shadowrun, Call of Cthullu, etc.
I did not make the transition to Pathfinder 2e yet - there are so many PFS1 scenarios that I did not get to play yet...

In my free time I am a musician. (No, that's not my day job - that one is way more like Dilbert's...) As of yet I play the drums or percussion in three bands; each band plays a few concerts per year.

Currently, I have 12 PFS characters, the PC with the most experience is level 8 (who survived Bonekeep 1).

I have GM'ed 5 (five) PFS games at my local RPG club in total (all standard, none pbp), so I am way behind on experience compared to everyone else here. Currently, I am attending GM school to learn the ropes of being a PBP GM.

------------

Two of my PC are CORE, a human ranged fighter and a halfling bard (face/support caster/backup healer), so I want to make a different build for this group - currently considering a human ranger (switch-hitter, maybe with one level of rogue thrown in along the way) or a dwarven cleric (deity and domains tbd)...

------------

Timezone
I live in Austria, Europe - my timezone is UTC +01:00 during Standard Time from ~Nov-Mar, and UTC +02:00 during Daylight Savings Time from ~Mar-Nov.
Usually, I will not post between 12:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. local time - Friday and Saturday nights may be exceptions...

------------

I am really looking forward to playing with you! :-D

'butter toast waffles' :-P ^_^

I am currently in GM school, so I'm just learning the ropes of GMing for pbp.
However, I am only interested in PFS 1e (discovered it way too late) and therefore would like to play it some more - there are so many scenarios I have not played yet...

I strongly prefer CORE (because of the exact reasons you mentioned) and I would make a new CORE character.

Thank you for this opportunity! :-D

PS: I missed out on your dwarf campaign because of real life stuff, so I really hope I get lucky with the d100 rolls... *prays to Desna in dwarven*

Why should she be different from her brother? :-P

I will create a new L1 character for this adventure. I have never played an alchemist before, so I thought I'll try something new - at least new for me. ;-)

I came across the mindchemist archetype and found it very interesting. So this will be a ranged alchemist that uses a cognatogen to enhance his already high Int, hands out extracts (e.g. shield for the melees), throws many bombs (and other dangerous stuff) and is generally a smug (and therefore annoying) Know-it-all with essentially no social skills, but should be able to cover all the Knowledges.

So far it looks like we do not have an Int-based class yet, so she should fit in quite well.

Thank you, posthuman! :-)

It just made no sense - to me - to have a pbp event and not announce it in the respective pbp lodges if you want as many people as possible to GM/play...

@all: I apologize if my previous post sounded demanding/entitled, that wasn't my intention at all. I was just surprised because last Gameday there were way more PFS1 (and also some CORE) tables...

DoubleGold wrote:

I've noticed the same thing. You can also GM and change that.
