Gah, radioactive waste! Burns! Stinks! Who do you suppose left all that radioactive waste down there? And why? Why? Now I'm radioactive! That can't be good! Why can't we find a way to safely dispose of radioactive waste and protect the environment? Even if I personally stop this alien invasion, what kind of planet will we be leaving to our children? And our children's children, and... oh the humanity! My big gun is out of bullets!

No more costs for mundane ammo. Have it be like component pouches, if you have the quiver, you have the arrows. Martials having to pay for every single arrow is part of one of the biggest problems they have in a DnD bean counting economy, namely that they get easily bogged down in cost and logistics while spellcasters only ever have to worry about a select few spells that are usually utilitarian enough that they can justify having the whole party pitch in. And while we're on the subject...

Anyone remember Weapons of Legacy from 3.5? Hell, anyone remember the Oriental Adventures version of the Samurai? Remember how they let you create your own Excalibur, Durandal, or Gram? Of course not, because both DnD and Pathfinder assume you'll be upgrading swords (of for Monks and Brawlers, their Amulets of Mighty Fists) like you were playing Final Fantasy and those alternatives assumed that you'll need to cough up the equivalent cash as if your we're so there was little point in jumping through WoL's hoops or digging up old 3.0 books. It has been said time and time again, but if a class is predicated on having a certain piece of equipment (i. e. the Wizard's spellbook or the Fighter's weapon) give them that piece of equipment! What's more, each item need not be special nor unique as you could have players who wanted their sword to matter could have their Joyeuse like Charlemange and people who didn't could have their parade of lost lightsabers like Anakin, but both would functionally be "You always have a weapon of X value, you can change its qualities and remove the Broken status between adventures" and fluff it different ways. Currently, the only examples of this I can think of that are both Pathfinder and 1st Party are the Wizard's spellbook and the Bladebound Magus's Black Blade, both of which are for classes that are distinctly capable of spellcasting.

Been meaning to get that off of my chest for a while and I didn't feel I had enough talking points for a whole thread.

The Level Filter on the Spell Index does nothing, both on desktop and mobile versions. It just straight up has zero effect.

Salvete! I started playing Endless Space 2 recently and I was struck by inspiration. I had always wanted to play and Endless Legend on tabletop but could never quite get it right, but with Endless Space and Starfinder I think that this could work. I've made some of the Endless Space 2 races. I left out those that I felt either weren't important enough to make in my first draft (i.e. most Minor Factions) or weren't suited to being PCs (i.e. the Riftborn or Unfallen). For those who are curious about the Endless games, here are some links

Cultural Feat and Skill choices for Humans

Humans have a rich variety of cultures that have spread across the galaxy, each with their own preferred vocations and ideologies. The following are suggestions for what to choose as your Human Feat and Skill based on your culture.

Suggested Feats Skill Focus, Toughness

Sheredyn are the militant faction within the Empire that seeks to either convince Emperor Maximilien Zelevas to take a more militant and authoritarian approach to governing (which is saying a lot) or simply replace him with a stronger Emperor.
Suggested Feats Diehard, Weapon Focus
Suggested Skills Athletics, Intimidate, Piloting

Mezari are people who are eager to return to the old peaceful and technologically minded ways of humanity before their civilization crashed on Auriga and were forced to claw their way back to the stars over countless generations.

Pilgrims are pacifists and spiritualists who gave up on ever seeing a free thinking Empire and fled to the stars to find hints of the Endless.
Suggested Feats Iron Will, Mystic Strike
Suggested Skills Life Science, Mysticism, Survival

As a final note, I would like to say that I currently do not plan to make the Riftborn (they're too Vorlon-ish) or the Unfallen (they're too big and unmoving) from 2 nor do I plan on making any of the races unique to 1 (the lore is just too threadbare) but that if anyone has a good arguement for why I should I'll at least hear them out. Remember, if you have questions, suggestions, or requests just say so.

This isn't really about adapting the Mass Effect races to Starfinder but would Solarians, Mystics, and Technomancers work in the Mass Effect universe? I suppose calling them biotics would be a simple way of doing it.
Personally, I like to think of Technomancers being a bit like biotics. So I think that could work. Same with Mystics as well. You might need to re-flavour, replace or remove some spells though, as some of them just don't fit. Solarians probably have the most biotic-like abilities out of the three classes, so you'd likely be able to leave that class the way it is and just change the fluff behind it.

Yeah, I think if you're willing to do some reskinning you could match the ME and Starfinder classes passably. I'd say;

Adept=Mystic
Soldier=Soldier
Engineer=Mechanic
Vanguard=Solarian
Sentinel=Technomancer
Infiltrator=Operative/Envoy

Why not -2 Wis? After all, their lack of wisdom led directly to them screwing themselves over.

Yeah, +2 Con and Int, -2 Wis might be a good route. Story-wise it would paint them as enduring and technically minded but with a tendency towards impulsiveness and recklessness (which they most certainly are if Mass Effect 2 and 3 are anything to go by). Gameplay-wise it would make them a good option for combat focused Mechanics but poor Mystics (which would also fit them since they tend to be Engineer class but can't take any biotics classes)

I like these so far. The turians look especially good, but I'm wary of the quarians having low Con. They have pretty useless immune systems, but they're extremely physically hardy. Wrex notes that of they're relatively close to krogan durability compared to other species and the Widow Anti-Material rifle, which is infamous for shattering arms with recoil, is built for quarian usage. Just my 2 cents

We are the Borg. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.

I know that Starfinder has The Swarm that is supposed to be the "mindless horde" force in the setting, but I have always found the Borg to be the scariest version in Science Fiction. There must be BORG!

If VampByDay is just reskinning when he can, I'd say use the Android, but swap Dex for Con

Personally, I'd say that Cardassians should have their -2 in Dex, not Wis. The official Star Trek RPG penalizes their Agility due to their reptilian physiology making them sluggish and most Cardassians are given intense mental training at a young age to resist telepathy so reducing the stat tied to Will saves seems odd.

I do like how Vulcans were given a +2 to Str since it's so easy for people forget that they're not just smart, but strong as well.

For the next race, I'll request Romulan since my favorites (the Cardassians) have already been done and Romulans are my next favorite. I'll also ask for Bajorans since I'm not sure if they'd just be variant Humans or not (the official ST RPG has them as pretty close to Human).

Lastly, what guidelines are you using for this? Is there a Starfinder Race Builder like with Pathfinder or are you just winging it?
