The forum software automagically changes any url into a non valid link unless you use proper url formatting. I don't remember the reason for that but I think it had to do with security or something.
This hurts, no gonna lie. This price change is definitely going to impact my decisions on whether to purchase a given pdf, especially as I have been losing interest in Paizo's output. At $10 I was willing to pick up the pdfs for every book in the Starfinder rulebook line. At $20 I will not.
Except Azlanti was printed in the World Guide (long prior to B3) as a regional language which, AFAIK, made it eligible to select by someone from that region. A quick stop at the Boon market to grab World Traveler and you should be able to take Azlanti. Archives of Nethys has it listed as Uncommon.
But if I do not get a chronicle sheet, how do I know how much gold, XP, and fame I got from the adventure?The same way you do today, did yesterday, and did years ago with your first home game: your GM tells you. I don't know about you, but I can probably fit gold, XP, fame, and reputation awards from at least 20 chronicles on 1 side of one sheet of paper and that is a conservative estimate accounting for my lousy handwriting. That right there is 39 fewer sheets of paper for every 40 chronicles I would have otherwise had. That seems like an improvement if I care about reducing paper waste. That assumes I don't note it down on my printed out character sheet, which is what I would likely do and thus 0 additional pages to bring with my character sheet. Also if I am using a character sheet on my tablet or phone, then I can note the information in a document on my tablet or phone.
This is not a sudden move to paperless, this is the first step towards a goal of paperless. They are taking time with this seeing what they can do away with and what they can't. Perhaps we/they will find that the problems of going completely paperless outweigh the gains and the process will be halted or even reversed some. Paizo has shown in playtests that they are not afraid to make major changes because something doesn't work, why would Org Play be any different.
So do we have a timeline for the Season 3 guide for Starfinder Society? I'm not meaning to complain, and I understand that life in our time of Covid has made everything harder. I just would like to know when I should check for it again because right now I have been checking the blog every day in anticipation of its announcement. The disappointment is starting to wear on me. I know its stupid but that is how I am feeling right now.
Maybe just check it every so often to see what has become available. Maybe when new options become available in the ACP you will be notified by email. Maybe there will be an instruction in the Scenario text that will tell the GM to inform the players that a boon will become available when the scenario is reported. Maybe they will mention it in a Blog post... Lots of ways this info could be delivered. And given Thursty's public announcement that the new version of the guide will include a bunch of new always available races, it seems like maybe that the Cantina feel is safe...
As a mid-40s midwestern cis-gendered white male who grew up in small-town Minnesota, I feel awkward every time I do these things and they often sound awkward to me hearing them. I screw it up all the time. So What? God forbid I feel awkward occasionally. Actually I feel awkward all the time, I am a socially awkward geek who struggles in social situations with people I don't know well. Its taken me 3+ days to work up the nerve to post this message, and I am still not sure I will hit submit when I am done typing it up. None of this changes the basic facts that we as people in a position of privilege have a basic human responsibility to do what we can to help out those with less privilege. And the least, simplest, most basic measure you can offer that takes no true effort on your part is to normalize the asking for pronouns. If someone is confused by the question you can simply say something like, "You know she/her, he/him, they/them, etc." Honestly, the only way this stops being awkward is if those of us with privilege normalize it.
Your example carries an interesting corollary in my real life experience that runs counter to your logic. You see, going through the Pathfinder Playtest to eventually get to Pathfinder 2E is more like upgrading your car not fixing it. If this was about fixing 1E then all we would get is more errata until the end of time. So this is ultimately about more than fixing. This is about bringing the game forward into a new era applying the lessons learned over 10 years of gameplay and making a newer, hopefully better, game. With that in mind I swing back to my real life example using yours as a base. The first car I ever owned was a Chevy Citation, at this point I can't remember what year but it was a used car that had been through a number of owners before me, including a couple of my dad's coworkers. The owner two stages before me was a guy who like upgrading his cars but he was also as it turned out not good about following through on the job. Its been a while but some of the details are hazy and frankly I suck with car details so bear with me. With this car, IIRC, he had upgraded a component in the engine/motor with a sport equivalent, I want to say Cam but honestly can't say for certain. Thing is he had done nothing else just this one part and the minimum of additional replacement parts to make it "function" again. The end result was an engine block that vibrated at a strength well out of the tolerances of the engine mounts and once the car had been in my possession for a short while began breaking said engine mounts. Point being some times, often even, you need to change more than the one thing you want to change to get a truly functioning whole. On the chance that you, or others, wish to hold to the idea that 2E is ultimately just a "fix" for 1E I will continue the example. When those Engine mounts broke I, and my father, did not know what was causing the problem, we were unaware of the root cause so we patch the mounts with various means that should have, and likely would have, been sufficient for the engine as designed obviously this did not work out as again the problem was not the mounts, but something deeper. In the same way many of those things that "don't work" in 1E are products of deep seated parts of the system and the only way to "fix" them is to completely overhaul the system.

Take that, Dying! And you too, “subject to gravity”! Thank you for this. I think a lot of the confusion that came up in 1E came from using terms inconsistently.
I've gone back and forth on this issue but I need to conserve my money and get a more rounded use of it. Consequently I would like to cancel my Starfinder RPG subscription. I am keeping certain other subscriptions on for a limited time to show support for the direction you are taking the lines and I will definitely be picking up PDFs here and there in the future. This is not to say that I do not wish to support where you are going with the Starfinder RPG line, quite the opposite. I just have to start somewhere.
For some reason, my ability to set a campaign default alias is not showing up at all, when it had been working in the past. I recently added the lastpass extension, but even when I disabled that extension and the problem persists. I am not sure exactly when this change happened I went several weeks without an online campaign. EDIT: edited for clarity and additional info
I want to add my name to the list of people thanking you for the adjustments made to the Scarab Sages. I only play a couple of times a year and this change means that my Scarab Sage character will have the opportunity to gain the full experience of the faction's "retirement" arc as a member of the faction.
I'm serious; every monarch in the Inner Sea is single and has no known children, except for Stavian, which is kind of immersion breaking for me because of how dangerous that is for such a type of government.This is a very interesting point, I hadn't thought about it before. I can't off-hand recall the other monarchs, but I believe Abrogail of Cheliax and Ruby Prince of Osirion are indeed single with no known children. I'll have to pay more attention to this in the future. I am quite certain that the Ruby Prince has children...
Audiobooks are almost certainly not going to happen until they have a new publishing partner. Paizo does not have the resources to do them, as I understand things. Audiobooks only started when Paizo made their deal with Tor, so it only makes sense that when the deal ended audiobooks ended. Whether they will start again will depend on their new partner. Also one other point, saying a company has dropped something carries a strong implication of permanence and whether you meant it that way or not, a lot of people are going to read it that way. So don't be surprised when people believe you are saying the line is cancelled when you say it was dropped. Lastly, I also preferred the format of the books when Paizo was publishing them. I am not a fan of the other format.
I'm beginning to feel like a broken record. Pathfinder Tales has not been dropped or cancelled. The deal Paizo had with Tor came to an end and one or both parties chose to not continue it. Paizo is shopping around for a new partner for the Tales line. They even have books written ready for publishing once they have a deal ironed out IIRC.
As for the "pay to play" complaints, the fact is that already happens. People who can pay to go to conventions get things that aren't available to those who can't pay to go. Letting people buy gift certs to trade for boons may balance that out a little in favor of the poorer people who can't afford to go to cons. I remember a post from Mike, or someone else on the OP team, stating that trades using Gift Certs and/or product was acceptable. I could be wrong and don't care enough to go looking for it, but I swear I remember seeing a post like that.

probably a long shot, but any chance you can find something for a Kitsune Mechanic or Technomancer? I've been thinking of asking my DM if i can import them from PF. I think the Starfarer's Companion from Rogue Genius Games has stats for Kitsune. If your GM balks you can remind them that Rogue Genius is run by Owen KC Stephens , one of the design team for Starfinder...
