Have Trolls been made closer to mythology too (the old (and modern) norse word for Magic is named after Trolls), in stead of being one-note brutes with an ahistorical gimmick mechanic Gary stole from a 1961 novel?

What Item bonus? I'm not talking about using the weapon's total attack bonus. Just the proficiency. You'd still add your Int Mod and that's it.

I can't do a level-by-level comparison right now, but from the top of my head, you'd be like 2 spell attack/DC ahead at level 5 and 6. And 1 ahead at levels 13 and 14. And that's it, I think. For a class that's limited to using Cantrips for most of the day, that doesn't seem too bad.

Monk/Champion spell prof rate would be more consistent, then.

full casters don’t use attack roll spells (without true strike) because they are inaccurate and weak. Magus are much less accurate with them than full casters, have a significant chance of not even getting to roll in the first place because of striking spell, and can only try this ‘combo’ a few times a day with slotted spells because they only have a few slots. Giving weapon bonus resolves one of those issues.

Then make sure to ask for a caster "fix" in the same thing so you don't ask for Magus to outdo them.

As someone with low energy to prep for games, i'd love to be able to buy Age of Ashes and future 2e adventure paths on Roll20.
