Why were the alchemy discoveries chosen for the investigator? Like why were mummification and preserve organs not on the list? A friend of mine really wants to know.

Hello, this is my first post and I'm looking for some recommendations for beginner modules since I've never really ran one before. I've run adventures of my own design, but have no clue where to start for modules. If anyone has any recommendations(especially free/homebrew ones) it would help me a lot. Also I'm curious if anyone has done up the rules for the non ten core dragons for things like bloodlines and the like in Pathfinder?
