GenCon 2013 - Pathfinder Society Events

I am brand new to the Pathfinder Society and I have not found any local games to join in on.

However, I am going to GenCon this year. Would it be possible to plan on simply playing a brand new character at the start of GenCon and take him as far as I can over those four wonderful days?
