This thread is about an old run of Carrion Hill. I have read the module and I am in the process of assembling the maps and painting the minies. I am getting information that this module is too long to fit in three 4-5 hour slots. I was wanting clarification from folks that have ran it if this is the actual case. ![]()
There are 5 chronicle sheets published for this book. Initially I was under the impression that 'Module' meant all day event (3 exp/4pp). Then there is WbG which is a 'short Module' which only gives 1 exp and 2 pp. What is the official ruling for the 5 'Modules' in this book? Three bits of information needed: Suggested Run time (1-x 4-5 hour slots), Exp, and PP. The Accursed Halls

I know this is an old post. I cannot find the simple answer I am looking for anywhere. The title mentions 3 slots. How long did it actually take to complete? When I mentioned I would like to run this at a Convention I was informed that it takes two days to get through (Conventions here have 3 4-5 hour slots a day), thus would not be a good fit for that environment. I know the book is 32 pages. I am in the process of producing the maps using a combination of the very low resolution maps in the pdf and Fat Dragon Games Dungeon tiles/3d terrain. To do this correctly without rushing past the important role play portions... how long does this module take in real time? Thanks,

Thanks for the information. This looks like an ad to buy more books. I dropped D&D because I could not carry the books I needed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c0FEZuJ1II&feature=relmfu was very explicit that the core book was all that was needed. My backpack is getting full and I do not even have all the basic stuff. My characters are very limited until I buy more books. I know this is the business model. I was under the impression that P was different. ![]()
Once I learn how to be a GM I plan on using a projector and d20pro for maps (beating dead horse;would save time if I could buy the maps from paizo*). What I would be interested in is cut-scenes. I backed the Pathfinder online Kickstarter so this should not be a pipe dream. The cut-scenes could be module specific or just set the mood. A dark and stormy night kind of thing or fog rolls in blanketing the city... Maybe spell effects or creatures approaching/attacking. *manually creating the maps helps me understand the module more completely. It is a time sink. I think the extra time will help me make the experience richer for my players. GMing is not the same as reading a canned story during story hour at the library. Bob |
