Zova turns to Ford, nodding at his ideas. "Ford here is a brilliant mind. I am sure between him, and the village herbalist who helped us with the previous plague, that we could possibly come up with a cure as well as stopping any new cases." Zova thinks for a second and then takes out the vial the herbalist gave her. "Laurel wanted a sample of the plague to examine it. Perhaps I could head back to Falcon's Hollow while you all head to the lumber camp. I could see about heading back this way once Laurel has a cure whipped up so that those who are currently sick could be cured."

We have recently heard of the blight that has stricken your people and came of our own accord in order to offer any assistance that we could in finding a cure.

"Now, I am aware that the Lumber Consortium which controls the town has made relations tense between your people and Falcon's Hollow... I wish to make it known that my comrades and I do not agree with their actions and do not represent THEM. In fact, we are no friends of the Consortium and we wish to help in hopes of starting to repair the ties between our peoples. So, I beg of you on behalf of those at Falcon's Hollow, to allow us to help you during this time."

Zova looks to the others, shrugs and gollows him, leaving her bow strapped to her back. "We would be honored.

Zova and peers curiously at the humanoid figures. Unfamiliar with them, but now aware they spoke Taldane, she calls out "Hello good fellows. We mean no harm, as we are merely travelers on the same road; perhaps you might be able to help us find our way?"

Aye. So for a brief recap for the new characters, Zova is a Hellknight transferred from Cheliax to this town in Andoran and has been working as a city guard here for about to years. She is notably not carrying a melee weapon, but does have a bow and quiver strapped to her. Furthermore, this "Diana" is a fox saved and healed by Zova on the road during the first plague... her alignment shifted from Lawful Neutral to Lawful Good in that moment.

As her allies ask their own questions, Zova bows to the gnome and begins to look around, seeing if anything catches her eye.

Zova looks to Diana and her eyes widen in surprise. She is about to ask why, but then understanding hits her. She nods with a small smile. "I understand. Might I ask, is there anything else you believe pertinent for us to know before speaking with this... Queen?"

Nova turns to the others in the group. "So it looks like we should be headed up to Droskar's Crag. Perhaps we should buy horses for the journey, as to make haste. And perhaps... holy symbols of a god of nature as well. Gozreh perhaps? Or Old Deadeye? Something to show that we are not an immediate threat. Hildrinsocks, would you know of any such symbol to show that we are friends at first glance?"

Heh. I ran into this little gem right here:

That's part of Abadar's paladin code. Something tells me as this goes on, that there will be no change until Kreed is put to the sword rather than brought to a court. More and more, I'm seeing that.

Zova smirks, remembering the few gnomes she had contact with in Cheliax. She always liked the poor blokes, shame half of them were slaves. She give a short bow and says, "My apologies. My name is Sir Zova Lex, and these are my associates. We gathered word that the fey were recently in need of assistance due to a disease that recently started to effect them. As you could understand, this is quite worrisome, so we thought we might aid in helping them find a cure."

She thinks for a second before continuing. "Truthfully, in doing this, we hope we could start to repair some of the relations between the fey and Falcon's Hollow. I do not believe it wise to say too much, but we want to start weaning the town off of its dependence on the Lum... I mean it's dependence on wood as a source of income. That way the forests will be preserved. Unfortunately, we do not know where the fey are located or how to get into contact with them. Do you think that you could help us, by any chance?"

Zova looks around, intrigued by the strange items on display. Upon seeing the human heads, she carefully examines them to see if they were real.

Regardless of what she finds out, she straightens up and strolls towards the front desk. "Hildrinsocks!" she calls out. "I need to speak with you about some common interests that we might have concerning the wellbeing of the fey."[/b]

Nova stands and gestures for the group to follow her to the gnome's residence, hoping to get on track as soon as possible.

With all this gaining allies from nature (fey, a worg, and maybe a dragon soon enough) it seems like I may have to retrain as a druid! Hm... a Lawful Neutral Druid Hellknight who worships the god of cities... that would be a new take on things. Perhaps an atypical approach where instead of focusing on the natural element of things, I could be a guardian who simply makes sure that cities and towns such as Falcon's Hollow do not encroach on the forests.

Zova returns to the party and sits down. "Well, I've heard quite a few stories abut the fey in my asking around and some of them seem to have merit. We should head to the Good'n'Gander to talk with their owner Brickasnurd. He's a gnome and apparently gets some of his supplies from the fey. If anyone would know where to find them, it would be him... and perhaps he can offer us some token to ensure safe passage through their territory."

She then turns to Ford. "It seems that they absolutely loathe the Lumber Consortium's work in the area. It would not be too far of a stretch to say that if we can help them see that the forge will help slow or even stop the town's dependence on wood, they might be more willing to work with us to repair the forge."

Not a wolf per se... a worg. And To be honest, Zova's not mentioning it because it has the exact opposite alignment as she does, even if we managed to make an alliance of sorts with it.

Nova thinks for a second. "Aye, they do tend to chafe at concepts such as law and order... but I believe that some, especially their ruling powers, would have some sense of honor and would provide assistance to those who help them... assuming we complete the job in time. As for their location... I am sure that we could ask around..."

With that, Zova stands up and wanders around the tavern, looking for someone who might know where the fey are.

Nova turns to whoever is left and frowns. "So, I believe the most pressing matter at this time is..." she nods to Ford and Kiezel as they stroll inside. "The most pressing matter is getting in contact with the fey. We must make it to them before their disease kills off too many of them and then subsides. After that, I suppose we could ask for their assistance in rejuvenating Torag's forge. That would seem like an appropriate enough payment for helping them in their time of need, wouldn't you say?"

Then again, the most PRESSING issue is with the fey. All things considered, they need a cure before we need a dragon ally. I think we should do that before anything else. Afterwards? Zova will certainly help with the forge.

Perchance you two have met at one point in your pasts. From his reaction, perhaps one of you made quite an impression on the other."

Zova cocks her head, curious as to what this Verigan had to say.

Turning back to Alleran, "From what I could gather, this fellow here is named Verigan. Don't know much more about him though. And this is Kiezel, a devotee of Torag just as Ford is. He wishes to restore the forge to its former glory. Now as to your proposition... It certainly seems like we should aid the fey first. Perhaps their illness is the one Greypelt warned us about. If he by any chance has the corpse of any creature affected by it, Laurel may be able to look into it. The fey could make a great ally... Alternatively we could head directly to them and see if they have the... Corpse of any if their own effected by the disease to examine... They might even know more about it than us."

Zova gladly pulls up a chair and makes a gesture offering some of the panckes if Alleran wishes. "What I know is that it has something to do with guarding shipments from werewolves, correct? I've heard of attacks recently."

Zova looks up at Alleran, nodding contentedly. "Alleran, by Abadar's scales, here you are!" She turns to the others. "Everyone, this is Alleran. Ford and I traveled with him in search of ingredients for the plague's cure. As of right now though..." She looks back to the ranger/ "The Sheriff informed me that I would be assisting you in whatever matters the Regiment may need extra bodies for in the area. So it looks like we will be working together for some time longer. I unfortunately, do not have many details as to what the assignment is, perhaps you can fill me in?"

We all have personal goals here I think ^_^ Looks like a few of us want to start up the forge again to help the town against The Lumber Consortium while Zova personally want to personally execute Kreed in the middle of town (She's a Hellknight. Even in Andoran, some habits die hard).

I'm sure there would be a way for us to come together.

Zova chuckles for a second. "Ford Benett... Doorslayer. Tell you what Kiezal, I already promised Ford here help in restoring the forge to its former glory. I am a devotee of Abadar myself, but I am quite supportive of other beneficial religions taking hold in the area such as that of Torag and Iomedae. All three are strong and their combined strong minded will could improve this city greatly." She shakes her head. "I would even prefer Asmodeans like back home in Cheliax to Kreed. Speaking of which, I do know for a fact that Payday is still his enforcer. I've been trying to help the Sheriff nail the bastard to a wall, but he is a slippery one for sure."

She takes a bite of one of her pancakes before washing it down with a sip of milk. "Truth be told, you're much better off avoiding Kreed. There was once a time where those who annoyed him were found dead in the streets. Nowadays... things are more discreet, but equally as tragic.

"That being said, Alleran was supposed to meet me at Laurel's, though I told her to send him here. I'm supposed to be working with him to defend shipments of wood against werewolf attacks or something of the sort."

Zova lowers her arm when she hears mention of Kreed, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. She leans forward, speaking in a voice raised barely above a whisper. "Now what could a good and upstanding individual want with a man like Thuldrin Kreed? Zova's first reaction is one of shock but then intrigue. She steps over to the counter and asks Jak for a drink of milk, and while she waits, scans this newcomer for traces of chaos or evil (though at his HD, none should pop up even if he Chaotic Evil). Upon seeing nothing, she grab her milk, thanks Jak, and returns to the table.

What business could be possibly have with Kreed... Does he want to work for the man, arrest him... Or does he want to see Kreed dead?

Smelling the sweet scent of cinnamon, Zova looks down as her stomach begins rumbling. By Abadar's clean-shaven face, she missed Jak's food. She peers inside Laurel's shop and says, "If Alleran stops by, tell him to go to Jak's, I'll be there." She walks those few steps to Crimmy's place and opens the door wide.

Zova nods to Laurel and waits to meet up with Alleran, standing just outside her shop as if standing post. No need to let anyone know that she would be working with the Diamond Regiment just yet.

Zova nods at Laurel's comments, quietly slipping the gold into her pouch. "Believe me, I know the feeling of wanting to help people. Speaking of which, I made a promise not too long ago to find an answer to this one dilemma and thought your knowledge with medicine and diseases might be able to help..." She describes the disease that Greypelt told her about. "Do you know anything about it? Where it is originated from, or perhaps how to cure it? It is present in the woods as of now, and I fear it might spread, causing another malady."

She frowns, thinking for a moment. "And perhaps... you would not mind sharing your thoughts on the town's... relationship with The Lumber Consortium." She peers outside to make sure there is no one possibly eavesdropping. "If you are comfortable sharing, that is."

Zova gives a small chuckle. "Lucky for me then. He was one of my companions In the search for the plague's cure. I will find a way to help him, and report back whenever I can."

She heads outside and looks around for a courier boy. Once she finds one, she slips him a gold piece and gives a description of Alleran. Find this man, and bring him to Laurel's shop. Tell him my name is Zova Lex, and I am meant to help him in his next assignment." With that, Zova heads to Laurel's, hoping to pick up her pay as well as gain information about the sickness that Graypelt told her about. A promise was a promise after all, even if it was made to a vile creature like a worg. And who knows. It might be good to have such an ally should odd circumstances arise.

Once she arrives, she greets Laurel, quickly asks about how the distribution of the cure was going and then asks about the disease.

Zova brushes the hair out of her eyes and nods vigilantly. "Aye sir. I will be sure to look into the matter immediately." She looks down at Diana, pulling a few dried fruit from her pocket and letting the fox lick them from her hands. "I am sure that we could find something to stick on Kreed while helping the soldier. Still, it is a bit disheartening that whatever we find may not matter in the end, what with the judges being in his pocket." Her mouth twists into a wry smile. "If only we could expedite him to a Hellknight prison. I guarantee you that there would be a fair trial."

She bows and starts to head towards the door. "I am going to pick up my payment from Laurel and then head right to... actually, where should I head after that? I am a bit unsure where the soldier is stationed."

After the services, which Zova dutifully attends, she pulls on her armor and gathers her belongings. She thinks for a second before leaving a stack of 5 gold pieces on the counter as a show of thanks for the room and board.

Upon the last goodbyes, she too makes her way to Falcon's Hollow, and reports the timely success to the Sheriff, letting him know of everything that transpired in the last few days.

Zova's lips curl downwards into a frown. "And here I thought the misfortunes were over." Her mind snapping back into harsh reality, she quickly examines Elara in spite of herself, just in case her actions betrayed anything other than sadness, her eyes snapping to the groundskeeper afterwards. I have not seen this much suffering since I left Cheliax. It is a shame my Hellknight training has me examining these. Poor folk but... I have to know of this was truly another unfortunate accident.

Of she does not suspect anything, Zova will eventually make her way back to the rooms in hopes that she can rest, hopefully being able to deal with the funeral rites in the morning.

Zova looks at the scene, justly horrified at what just transpired. Stepping forward, she quickly scans the room for lingering auras of magic, and failing that, switches to scanning for traces of evil or chaos. If there was no mundane explanation for what transpired, perhaps there was a magical one.

Unsaddling from the horse, Zova attempts to take a step forward but finds her legs wobbling. "Well then, serves me right for riding hours on end," she remarks while allowing Alleran to take the horse, taking a few steps to test and see if she regains any strength. When she is satisfied with being able to walk in a straight line again, she looks up to Ford and nods her head. "Thankfully the ingrediants arrived on time to save a few victims of the plague today... but in our time outside of Falcon's Hollow, it has taken lives of several others."

*Her eyes flicker downwards for a second before looking back up at Ford. "Well then, let us see if we can't spend the night here. Laurel and Cirthana are to distribute the cure to all who are affected by the blight so we can make our way back to Falcon's Hollow at our leisure in the morning."

It is clear Zova's eyes betray some form of sadness despite her normally stoney gaze. You realize that as a Hellknight, she is not used to failure of any sort, so even losing a single life must be a catostrophe for her.
