Backstory: Zorin is a graduate of the University of Lepidstadt in Ustalav. While at the university, he was nearly kicked out multiple times for his unorthodox and borderline unethical experiments. It was only through his intelligence that he was allowed to remain a student, even as his vivisections and bodily experiments drew the ire of more ethical professors. After graduating, he took a vacation to Magnimar, the city of monuments. It was this vacation that taught him more then all his years of studying. While out one night, he was kidnapped by a group of Derro and brought underneath their city to their layer. The creatures conducted all manner of experiments on Zorin, changing both his body and mind. Even the Derro found themselves surprised when they went to his holding cell, only to find he had started to develop notes about his own forced examinations.
He was able to fool the Derro with his medical training into allowing him to assist them with their experiments. While he was fascinated by the surgical techniques, he saw the Derro themselves were to mad to truly achieve any lasting medical discoveries. His distaste for the Deroo’s usage of kidnapped subjects drove him to finally escape along with a handful of captives he managed to free. Once back on the surface, he was a changed man. His body was covered in surgical scars and stitch marks, looking like a man who had been torn apart and then sewn back together. His hair had turned white from the horror of the situation, leaving the young man looking older than he really was. One of his eyes had been infected by cytillesh, the strange mold of the Derro. Now one eye remains the normal green, while the other is an almost neon blue with a soft glow to it.
Now free again, he has gone on a journey across the inner sea to study anatomy. From the shadowy surgeons of Nidal to the flesh pits of Nex, he is determined to expand his knowledge and be the front runner in the sciences in this industrial age.
