No worries, Aron. Life can become busy for all of us at times. I'm sure when the time is right, you will be back at it. For me, I've been promoted to Venture Captain in the state of New Hampshire and Vermont and I have become very busy with Pathfinder. It is all very exciting! I just want to close up this loop. Thank you for welcoming me into your campaign. I had fun while it lasted. I wish you all the best!

Aron, I am glad to hear the news! A steady income always relieves stress! However, please don't worry about creating nasty Pathfinder beasts. There are plenty of those out there already. :-)

I will clearly not spend my time calculating four digits only to find out that they were not the last four digits after all! May I suggest you make your way to the kitchens, bake an apple pie, measure its circumference, measure its longest chord, divide the two numbers and at least find an approximation for the first four digits of pi!"

Round 2 Zorestar moves to O17 to get a good view and then he quickly moves his hands is somatic gestures and casts magic missile at the white wolf.
"Did you all hear that sound? Do you see that bear sized white creature charging at us with snarling teeth? That is what I believe to be lupus et hiems, a winter wolf. From what I understand, It was first discussed as a relative of the worg due to it's wolf form and human-like intelligent. However this was corrected when a controversial researcher actually spoke with one and found that these creatures view worgs the same way as we view non-intelligent apes. Close genetically, sure, but no where on the same level. Consequently, I think we are dealing with something very clever. Hehe. I wonder if I took out one of my mathematics books if it would slow the creature down."
"Burn you stupid dogs." "Technically speaking, your grace, your spell does not actually burn the luporum magna. Kindly permit me to show you how to burn them." Round 1 The wizard moves his hands in somatic gestures as he quickly draws forth tallow, brimstone, and powdered iron from his spell component pouch. A moment later he declares, "Yangin Kure!" to complete the casting of Flaming Sphere. Suddenly a burst of fire appears next to the worgs and leaps at one of them.
"Not bad, but I must really work to optimize the effects of this spell!"
I was simply waiting for my turn to come up in the initiative. If you think I should post my actions now, I will.
Zorestar moves his hands in somatic gestures and casts Haste upon his companions. "You should be able to get those wolves with some speed this time. Go get them lady and gentlemen." Once they get close to the wolves, he will casts Flaming Sphere and directed the scorching ball of fire directly at one of the creatures.
"We are down-wind from them. They woun't be able to get a good sniff of us, 'till we are in charging distance." "Then I think we should give it a try. The longer we stand around and blether about it, the more likely we are to give our position away. Now let me cast this invisibility spell and give one of you a chance to sneak up on them and land at least one good blow. Who is it to be? Are there any more spells to cast before we advance?"
"Does it mask the smell of my husband? I believe that most wolves track by scent. If this spell of yours does not mask smell, then it does not sound like it will be of great effect." "Well, m'lday, naturally I am not guaranteeing complete stealthiness. I'm just aiding through the use of illusion in the area of one of the senses, mainly that of sight. I do not mean to ask such personal questions, but may I ask how long it has been since your husband has bathed?"
"Very well, Sir Bronwyn. If stealth is what you want, I have two spells of invisibility that I would gladly offer. It will provide a great enhancement to one's ability to approach undetected. Mind you it is not fool proof. It actually does not mask sound that you make, but for those who rely upon the visual senses, it would certainly register as a marvelous illusion. Once I cast it upon those individuals, they are free to approach, but once they make the act of striking the foe, then the arcane powers will decease and the recipient will be fully exposed to sight once again. So who are the two lucky ones who wish to receive the benefits of my magic?"
"I've been thinking, my friends. Do you not think it a bit odd that even though these worgs have thick fur that they would choose to stay outside of Telias' house. I mean I know that it would be cramped, but, would they still not prefer to be inside?"
"There's only two of them I say we try to get closer, hill-to-hill and then strike when close enough." "I'm willing to try the sneaky approach, and furthermore, I am happy to offer an arcane spell that makes one invisibility if you think it would offer someone a relative maximum of sneakiness. Without it, I fear I would not be able to do much actual sneaking. However, if you want me to distract the creature, that is something I could do with very little effort."
"The magnum malum lupum! I think we are here my friends. I am prepared to cast a spell I call "Haste" upon you, but I don't want to be too hasty. Well what I mean is at this distance its duration will likely run out before you even get to those worgs. Let's advance a bit closer and see if we still have the element of surprise. If we can get close enough, I will then execute my spell for all of our benefit."
"So what does that mean? They'll be ready for us?" "I would not put it past them. They are far more intelligent than ordinary wolves. To be honest, they are quite clever. Their favorite tactic is to bite onto their prey and pull them down to the ground where their victims will naturally be helpless. However, they could even coordinate their efforts with goblins and try to catch us in some sort of sick chase game, where they hunt us down and feast upon us like we are dinner." "I said they were Worgs about a dozen tahms." "Yes, yes, I've heard you mention that they were worgs, but did you know that their proper scientific name is magnum malum lupum?!"
"So you said they were big and black. Do you have any other information to share with us? It sounds like you are describing worgs to me."
"If we take horses, we should be there and back in a couple days, right?" "When considering the distance, I do not believe it will take us long. However, you will further need to anticipate how long it will take us to gather wolfsbane and deal with the worgs that are causing such difficulty near the home of Telias."
"So, it seems we are now to clear out the wargs?" "Well, unless you think we can find a way to tame them. However, I find the likelihood of that happening to be rather small. Perhaps if we could supply a great deal of meat, they would at least stop bothering the locals."
"Ye ain't gonna find it in any shop round here. Got it growin 'round mah land though. Handy stuff." "Perhaps we could make a trip to your land and pick some wolfsbane. But do I understand correctly that you are having difficulty with worgs? It certainly does not sound as if your wolfsbane is any particular bane to your worgs."
"I wonder if Wolfsbane would be able to cure the poor fellow. Lets see if I can try and find an herbalist before we depart." Zorestar tries to find out about any source of wolfsbane.
Zorestar listens carefully, trying to piece the information together. "Did this enormous wolf want to see you killed, or was he wounding you just to make it clear who the leader of the pack is? I mean, I presume werewolves must have a bit of pack mentality when you put them together much like an ordinary pack of wolves."
"If there is no other way, I will gladly give my life for the crimes and to stop the curse from endangering your people." he says solomnly." "We would really much prefer to find a cure for your lycanthropy than putting you to death. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to learn the deep magic that will allow me to remove that curse from you. However, give me time and I have no doubt that I will find and master the arcane words that will unlock the spell. We just need to find a way to keep you safe while preventing any further contamination of the population. So in the meantime, we will need to construct a cell that is both strong, but also built with silver bars and silver manacles. It is the one material that will restrict you while in the form of Lupis Lunae." "I know my friend, Telias, here would much rather kill you, but keep in mind that he has some issues with population growth and the fact that exponential growth will result in too many people in the wilderness. I would not take it personally if I were you. If you took the time to know him, you would discover that he rather enjoys his sour disposition and he shares it with all of us equally."
"I wonder how safe it would be to give him a curfew and require that he come here to this cell every evening until his lycanthropy is cured. It is a little risky, but if you were willing to cooperate with us, we may be able to make an arrangement. However, obviously, we must do what is safe for the people of this town. We cannot afford to stop a pack of hungry werewolves!"
Zorestar also asks for help with healing. "Does anybody have the skill, the divine magic, or a potion that would aid me in the restoration of my health? I am still not feeling up to my normal self."
"I suspect that once morning comes, he won't remember a thing. It is important to show mercy upon him, but we must ensure that he does not harm himself or others."
Zorestar has a kind heart, but little in the way of healing spells.
"Does anybody have any means to remove the curse of Lycanthropy from our friend here, and perhaps try and save his life?"
"Well, my friends, it appears that Lupas Lunæ has just bit the dust. This will be good news for everyone. Did any of you get bit? We certainly do not want any of you catching lycanthropy!"
Round 2 Without even thinking, Zorestar directs his flaming sphere back at the lycanthrope and attempts to engulf the creature in fire.
Then he proceeds to cast Shocking Grasp on the Werewolf. Round 3 Zorestar continues to aid the battle with the destruction of his flaming sphere.
Meanwhile, we fires off a magic missile to be sure the werewolf is hit.
Hi guys, I am going on vacation to a remote cabin in Maine on the week of August 5 - 9th. There will be no electricity and certainly no internet. The following week I leave for Gencon on August 14th and will not be back until August 19th. Please DMPC Zorestar as needed.
Round 1 Zorestar moves his hands in somatic gestures and casts Flaming Sphere with the arcane phrase, "Yangin Kure!" He then rolls the flaming ball into the werewolf.
"Did you all hear that? It is so interesting that Lupas Lunæ is such a deeper pitched growl than Canis Lupas. I suppose this should not be a surprise when considering the overall mass of the werewolf, but you could really hear it in that last howl. I think we are getting much closer. Let's hurry right along and see how close we can get to it. If it wasn't quite so dangerous, I would find this experience rather thrilling!"
"Run away?! I'm not about to let you fend for yourselves against a lupus lunæ all by yourselves! What if something terrible should happen and you catch lycanthropy yourself? I would never forgive myself. Let's proceed as we need to, but do try to avoid going through mud or prickers!"
"Oh dear Nethys! He didn't go into the woods off of the path did he?! Now what are we suppose to do? How are we ever going to find this werewolf?"
"Where has Telias gone off to? I thought we were suppose to be in this together. How are we going to find our enemy if we cannot even find our friends?! Let's see if we can find him and then find our little werewolf."
