Zissaren moves carefully away from the circle, dumps his gear onto one of the vacant cots and sits with his back to the wall.

"I can take the ssecond watch, my sscaless protected me from the monsster and I have no sspellss to memorise or pray for."

Sorry, I keep getting crazy amounts of work. Lab report after assignment after lab report ad infinitum.

Having fazed out for the last few minutes Zissaren missed most of the conversation about all the magical hoohah. He wanders over to the crystal in the centre of the room and gives it a poke with the tip of a claw.

"Bugger it all, I'd sswear thiss place waited til I wass down here before it openned that damn door."

Zissaren levers himself back into the chamber and picks up the unconcious girl again.

"Sshall we be off then?"

"Hopefully we'll be able to ffind a way out, these tunnelss sseem to open and closse at will."

Zissaren moves over to the hole and carefully swings Lureene off his shoulder and down onto the ground before jumping back down into the tunnel. He calls back up through the hole for someone to pass down the sleeping girl.

"By the lookss of it, what would have happened to the memberss of our little group if we hadn't found them."

Zissaren removes the sword and leather cord from the skeleton and tucks them into his pack.

"Maybe we can find ssomeone who'll recognisse the ssword or the necklacce, who can possibly sshed ssome light on how thiss guy got down here."

Zissaren moves around the mass of dangling tentacles and stoops to lift the snoring woman onto his shoulder, careful to avoid skewering her on a horn as he does so. Happy that Lureene is securely in place he walks through one of the gathering puddles of acid and pulls the on the hilt of the sword which appears to be jammed into the vile flesh.

Sorry for disappearing, its exam season and I haven't been online much for the last few weeks. Last exam is next week so I'll be fine then.

Zissaren pulls his last spear from his pack and sends it flying after the first two, hoping to end the fight before anyone else falls to the tentacled mass.

Attack 1d20+4 [14,4] = (18) damage 1d6+8 [3,8] = (11)

Zissaren sidesteps the flailing tentacles and grimaces as more of his allies are knocked down.

Taking the reaction to the first spear to mean the central lump is important he grabs another spear from his pack and launches it after the first.

Attack 1d20+4=24 Damage 1d6+8=12

Zissaren spits out the vile tasting tentacle and pulls out one of his recently cleaned spears. With an angry hissing roar he lanches the spear at the now pulsing mass in the centre of the room.

Attack 1d20+4=20, damage 1d6+8=9

"Doessn't get a hint doess it?"
Zissaren smashes flail first into the nearest tentacle, following through on the attack and biting down hard on the slimy appendage.
Zissaren's voice is muffled by his full mouth but the disgust on his face makes it clear to anyone glancing in his direction that biting the tentacle was a decision he regretted quite a bit.

As the cords unfurl and begin to swing menacingly at the group Zissaren pulls his battered flail from his belt and spins the heavy chain into a blurred disc of metal with no apparent effort.

"I am tiring of thiss creaturess attemptss to kill uss."

Iniative 1d20+5 = 19

Zissaren moves over to the fourth full sac and slits it open, replying to Trutik's questions as he does so.

"My name iss Zissaren and you find yoursself ssomewhere in the ssewerss of the ccity of Kaledun. We are ssearching for a losst child, posssibly taken by the same being which wass attempting to digesst you."

Zissaren moves quickly over to the other sac, slitting the fleshy material with a claw to free the creature trapped inside, careful to not cut too deeply to avoid slicing whoever it is.

Zissaren lies belly down on the floor of the chamber and reaches down to hoist Al through the hole.
Once Al and Rodrigo are safely into the chamber Zissaren stands and walks over to the same sac Luff is examining.

"If thesse are sstomachss I hope they are not digessting the misssing children."

He gives one of the sacs an experimental jab with a clawed finger.

Zissaren attempts to remove his spears from the gelatinous mess the creature has become and clean them off on the wall of the tunnel, removing as much of the acidic slime as possible.

"I am uninjured, my sscaless sseem to be unaffected by thiss burning sslime. Arathalia, I am beginning to believe that the entire ssewer ssystem is one colossal creature."

Zissaren backs away from the now open tunnel in the ceiling and makes a running jump to grab the edge and pull himself up.

Invisible castle is down so I rolled it.

Zissaren dodges the flailing pseudopods with ease and pulls another spear from his pack, levelling it and letting fly at the blob.

Attack 1d20+4 = 17
Damage 1d6+9 = 14

Zissaren backs away from the waving pseudopods and unslings a spear, with a grunt he flings it at the amorphous lump on the ceiling.

The viscous slime splatters across Zissaren's scales then begins to drip down to the sewer floor, leaving him entirely unharmed, if a little disgusted.

"We follow the black veinss then. And quickly, before Kaledun tries to digesst uss."

"We sseem to have no choicess really, we follow one of the tunnelss up ahead and hope we find our way back to the ssurface."

Perception 1d20+6 = 13

Zissaren glances around at the now rapidly shrinking tunnel and proceeds to sprint after the fleeing cat with all possible speed.

I'm still here. Keep getting snowed under with work but I am still here.

Seeing that his attack merely splashed some water about Zissaren pulls back against the wall of the tunnel and swings his flail, attempting to fend off the watery jaws.

Total defense until I can work out what else to do. AC 29 for the rest of the round.
Perception check 1d20+6 = 20

Zissaren activates his power aura, giving allies within 30ft +1 on damage rolls. Also, it might help if we have some kind of battle map.

As Leaf fires at the monster Zissaren draws his flail and takes a swing at the nearest part of the watery beast.

Attack 1d20+9=20
Damage 1d10+13=16

Iniative 1d20+5=25

Zissaren flattens himself against the tunnel wall and reaches for the handle of his flail, a surprised hiss escaping from his mouth at the surprise appearance of the strange monsters.

Zissaren follows quietly behind his companions and the strange talking cat as they enter the tunnel and takes the righthand path, one hand on the wall to keep himself balanced on the narrow ledge.

Zissaren followed the others up the tunnel, glad that whoever had built them had seen fit to build on such a scale that even he could walk comfortably. When he arrived at the chamber he looked around at the many tunnel mouths and an idea occurred.

"It is a sshame you did not bring your acquaintance with you Jack. They may have been able to have caught the sscent of the girl, or the ssugar. Now we will either have to part wayss or sspend a very long time ssearching thesse tunnelss."

Sorry, moved house and it took a few days to sort out the internet. Back to regular posting agin now though.

After assisting Alderthane up the cliff zissaren clambers easily into the tunnel, shaking himself much like rodrigo to remove the worst of the moisture. At Al's words he looks down at his own wounds and notes the few ripped scales and dark blood oozing out of a nasty looking cut on his leg.

"Thank you Al, I would be glad to be rid of the pain and I'll be better able to aid the rest of you uninjured."

Zissaren lay on the muddy riverbed, the heavy iron grating having come to rest across his legs. He reaches down and lifts the metal away with ease, dropping it back into the thick silt beside him. A few seconds thrashing his way free of the clinging mud and Zissaren swims over to the dock he so recently dived off, remaining underwater to make sure as much of the mud washes away as possible. He breaks the surface a few feet from where the group is gathered and sucks in a huge lung full of fresh air before leaning back and letting the cool water soothe the gouges left by the grating as it had smacked him into the riverbed.

I'll stop raging at this point too. Reflex Save 1d20+3 = 6 Damn..

Zissaren was not expecting his attempt to have quite the effect it did and in his surprise makes no real effort to get out of the way of the grating as he tumbles with it into the river.

Zissaren takes a firm grip on the iron bars blocking the entrance to the sewer and braces his feet against the edge of the tunnel. Hanging onto the bars he forms an image of the iron door that kept him imprisoned for so long and the red mist drops over his vision. With a bestial grunt he attempts to bend the rusted metal out of his way

Strength Check 1d20+10 = 29(raging) Apparently Invisible castle loves me at the moment

This could be a hopeless venture, but no harm in trying.

Zissaren swims leisurely over to the cliff face and studies the wet rock wall for a few seconds, noting any likely looking foot and hand holds on the slippery surface. Apparently satisfied that there is a remote chance he could scale the cliff, Zissaren reaches up for his first handhold and attempts to reach the tunnel mouth.

Climb check 1d20+11 = 29 Woo! It might actually work.

Zissaren nods thanks to the lizardman and dives off the dock into the cool river water. He surfaces and begins swimming south, trying to spot the sewer outlet as he enjoys the feel of the water on his scales.

Zissaren approaches the nearest lizardman who isn't in the process of loading or unloading a barge and calls out to him in the lizardman tongue.
"Is the river alright for swimming here cousin? Any dirt pipes nearby?"

Zissaren heads off in the general direction of the river, looking around for any other lizardmen. If there is a sewer outlet nearby they'll know about it.

Damn, forgot the little drop down thingy.

"Well I guess I am going to have to find a different way into the ssewerss then. Anyone know if they drain into a river anywhere near here? I could jump in and then sswim back up the pipe, but finding my way back to thiss sspot could be a bit challenging"

Zissaren stands carefully as the burning in his gut fades rapidly away.
"I think I may know why ssomeone would wish to end my life but I'll explain later, right now we sshould find the child"

He lifts his bag and heads for the door, pausing in front of Valentine and turning to face him.
"By the lookss of it you ssaved me from a painful death today, and for that I owe you a debt. I will endeavour to repay it in any way you ssee fit. If ever you need help, come find me and I will assist you to the besst of my ability."

I'm still in. Sorry about dropping out for the last few days. Had to go into hospital and have my leg pinned. Now I have 4 screws and a centimetre thick titanium rod holding my tibia together, also lots of staples. But I am back home now so am able to post again.

Zissaren groans and rolls onto his back before sitting up and looking around at his companions.
"Eurgh my gut iss on fire, what wass in that damn ssoup?"
He levers himself carefully up off the ground and back onto the stool he'd been sitting on, not feeling quite strong enough to stand quite yet.

Invisible castle is finally back up. Fortitude Save 1d20+8 = 22

So am I still under?

Woo! Unconcious and loving it.

Yeah, sorry about that, leg is fine. I just spent yesterday travelling home. Broke it in Israel and needed to get back to the UK.
Invisible castle seems to be down so I rolled it.
Fort save 12+8 = 20 Oop, 29 failed so I guess I do too.

Zissaren hunches over as the sickness and pain in his gut increase. "Eurgh, Al I think you may be right. The sstew sseemss to want to return to itss place in the bowl."
Through the increasing stomach cramps Zissaren looks around at the rest of the inn, trying to see if anyone else is affected like their group.

Perception 13+6-2 = 17 Guessing we're sickened so added the -2

Haven't posted in a few days because I kinda snapped two bones in my leg. The pain haas faded a bit now though so I am back.

"I sslept well indeed. I have not had much chance to ssleep in a bed for the lasst few monthss."

Zissaren had come down the stairs behind Jack and had been quietly eating breakfast and listening to the conversation going on around him. He uses his long pointed tongue to clean his mouth and sets down his spoon.

"Good morning Al, help iss alwayss welcome. It appearss we may be sspending ssome time in a ssewer today, will the damp, dirty conditions affect your jointss?

Zissaren eats a hearty meal and then spends the rest of his evening cleaning, oiling and maintaining his belongings. He passes the rest of the night in comfortable sleep, not used to the reasonably soft bed.
He awakes an hour before sunrise and leaves the inn to have an early morning swim. He returns just as the sun rises, going back to his room and dressing ready for the day to come.

Sorry for not replying for a few days, I was away from computers.

Zissaren grunted in appreciation of the archon's words

"You have a way with wordss sstrange ball of light"

He sat up slightly from where he had slouched during the conversation and cleared his throat.

"Thiss ssituation would not have occured in my old village. A childss life iss ssacred, and if a child iss kidnapped the whole village would turn out to ssearch for them. Here nobody liftss a finger, consstabless actively deter the ssearch and only a group of sstrangerss are willing to help. What turns a city againsst itss inhabitantss sso? Maybe Yanko will explain if we gain hiss trusst."

Zissaren listens to the conversation for a few seconds and then interupts.
"Could ssomeboy tell me who thesse knightss are? I saw a man in black watching us from a doorway, but he vanisshed before my eyess and then the halfling dissapeared too."

"I don't ssee the woman, but perhapss those otherss know her?" Zissaren makes his way carefully through the crowd and takes one of the spare spaces on the bench, trying not to squash or crowd anyone in the process.

"Thank you for the sseat, my name is Zissaren." He sticks a clawed hand out across the table to shake with the man from the crowd earlier.

"Good day Jack, my name is Zissaren. Is that ssarcassm I detect or are you truly consideration perssonified?"

Zissaren steps through the door into the crowded inn, using his above average height to scan the room and try to spot the lost child's mother in the bustle.
