About Zhoi the Angel
Zhoi was born to good and loving middle class parents who did their best with him and his brothers. He learned to use logic and his mind from his father and learned a fierce independence from his mother. He learned to care for others from both of them.
Zhoi spent much of his youth going to school, getting into and out of trouble, and running the streets looking for “adventures”. When he was 14 years old he found one, and not to his liking. He spent many nights sneaking out of the family home and one night he ran into a very bad man who mugged, beat, and raped Zhoi. The attacker was never caught and this colored Zhoi’s entire life from this point on.
He spent the next several years in healing from the physical, mental, and emotional wounds from this attack. From this point on he was never without a knife and sometimes stole them from others when he did not have one. He never had the same trust for men again and spent more time alone than with others. He vowed to never be harmed by another person again.
Towards that end he learned to fight. At first he learned unarmed fighting which taught him self-confidence and discipline. He then moved on to weapons starting with the staff and knife and moving on to sword fighting; one handed, two handed, and even two swords at once. Zhoi found a freedom in fighting that he has never found elsewhere. Not to hurt others, but to challenge himself in what he could and could not do.
Zhoi is an adventurer, wander, and a friend. He loves to help people, but he loves to discover and see new things. He has wandered many worlds and is very far from home. He finds great joy in making others happy. He values loyalty and tolerates no betrayals. He is a protector of people, places, and things that he sees as “his” and will defend them against anything at whatever cost. He is a natural leader although a reluctant one. He is accepting of others and a good listener. He is never judgmental of others even if he feels that most people are entitled to be wrong, it is their choice.
His personality is such that others feel safe around him and like to be around him. Rarely is he the center of attention and he does not enjoy being in the limelight. He tends to be a quiet man and enjoys reading when he can. If he has a fear it is of food, he does not like trying new foods.
