Why the price increase?

This is stupid.

Am I the only one who is being forced to cut back on what they can buy because of the speed everything is coming out at?

I have a really good job, and I have no financial worries, so that is not the concern. It is literally the speed everything is coming out at.

I have been forced to cut back on my subscriptions (I was subrscribed to everything Pathfinde related) because I cannot grab up everything at once, now I feel like I am missing out on products as they come out. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

I'm not angry or anything, more like frustrated. I have plenty of disposable gaming money. I just cannot fathom how much money would be needed to get everything with the pathfinder stamp on it.

I know, I know. "You do not need to get everything just cause..."
I feel like I might be missing out on something if I do not. Look at the new Devils guide is going to have the diabolist prestige class for one. Can I get that anywhere else? What other products are going to have new spells, prestiges and the like that I cannot ge unless I buy THAT product?

Anyone agree? Disagree? Not care?

You don't have to get everything right away. Patience and all that.

You haven't said why you have to cut back though, it's not like there is a time limit on books when they get to your house.

For us poor Aussies, a copy of the core rule book comes in at about $110USD once you add in postage. Ridiculous.

The only option we really have IS to get it printed at wherever.

In exchange for a case of Vegemite, I might be able to work something out. <looks around> What? So I'm an Yank who actually likes it. Doesn't everyone? :-P

Oh, and it took me 5 hours to print the GM preview for Gen Con.

To ship a case of Vegiemite it'd probably be about $80

Unless you can think of other means!

I generally DM online games, though I'd love a chance to actually play! But I can probably DM if need be, especially if you'd want to play one of the Paizo Adventure Paths. Mostly I play Pathfinder nowadays but I used to play 3.5e and I've played 4e before (not really my thing), though I'm open to just about any system. My friend would also probably be interested in playing.

There's some kind of gamer club type thing called the Every Gamer's Guild (or something similar) in Newcastle, you might want to look into that too.

Hey you should add me to facebook if you have one.

I'm not sure if that will work but it's worth giving it a try. It's a shame that paizo's messageboards don't have private messaging.

I'm interested! I have a highly flexible lifestyle. Hailing from Newcastle.

I'm DM-ing a group at the moment so I'd rather be a player. I've switched 99% of my gaming efforts to Pathfinder but am open to anything else.

...put a picture of Karzoug in the Beta players book?

My players were more than intrigued when they noticed him after finding a familiar seven pointed star on the spell book he is holding!

Anyway, What other "Who's smart idea was it?" things have you noticed lately?

Name of PC: Xandrak
Class/Level: Human Sorc 4
Adventure: Burnt Offerings, Thistletop
Catalyst: Shadows, Mr. M
Story: The party was doing quite well in Thistletop but after being reduced to STR 1 by the shadows then later cornered by Mr. M he really ran out of options except to die. It was a bite critical followed by a claw critical and a normal claw.

It was an honorable death, he brought Mr. M down to 1HP almost by himself.

I would buy it because it would probably not have any major printing/paging errors like my disappointing purchase of the English core book that I'm stuck with.

Hey guys.

I bought the PRPG from Amazon.com and have noticed that about 15 or so pages are missing and there are about 15 repeats of pages from furthur on in the book in it's place.

This is quite disheartening because it was my first major purchase in a while due to my financial situation. (Early birthday present as it were.)

I was wondering what you guys could do to help?

I recently ran Life'z Bazaar and found it hard to get my characters interested in it, even though the adventure turned out well in the end, they really don't know the fundementals of investigating and dungeoncrawling, so fast tracking through that adventure became somewhat of a nescessity.

I've decided to put in a few changes to Drakthars Way, just thought you guys might be interested in hearing about it. (Minor the changes may be though)

The adveturers elected to stay in the Tavern where the Last Laugh thieves guild runs (though of course they don't know this), which makes it easier for me. On the 3rdish night of the goblin raids Trogdor (Fighter) should be meeting with the Captain of the Guard. While that is happening Cannox (Cleric of Nerull) will be awoken with Jill on top of him with a dagger at his neck, and a thieves guild wizard pointing a wand at his temple. This helps with the tension I set with her and Cannox in the first meeting. She will ask him to find out what happened to a shipment of poisons through the underground passages, she suspects it might have something to do with the goblins coming up from one of the possible entrances of the passage. She also suspects someone has been influencing Drakthar to take a hold of the passageway in some way or another. (I'm assuming Drakthar has been there for a while and has been known to the Thieves Guild)

I was also thinking of giving the 3rd player, Switch the Rogue a Dream about a swarm of rats crawling all over him, biting his face, stomach, well everywhere. If he goes to attack them in the dream his Rapier is silver and the Rats scurry off, but if he doesn't act the Rats drain his blood. At the end of an action he will wake up sweaty and fatigued.

So yeah..and i've also gotten rid of a lot of the rooms in the Dungeondelve. The empty ones, some of the stores, etc etc - because it needs to run a lot smoother.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

We'll see how it goes, first session on Sunday.

The answer about the dreams helped a lot because I still wasn't sure after re-reading throught it a few times, but that's cleared up. I was thinking, so I could keep "The Test of the smoking eye" that you still need it to kill Adi, or free him from his cage, his Demon Side anyway. I think i might have it as a draw for one of the evil characters in my campaign.

I was thinking of giving it to one of the stormblades as well, to get them more involved in the plot.

Also I was thinking I would foreshadow the Necrocants in chapter 3, changing it so that Sarcem sent a letter to Jenya about the wands being completed, but the Necrocants intercepted the note carrying party and destroyed them. (except for one that got away). I'm also considering of putting in the spiritual priest in chapter 3 in the form of Sarcem, disguised, so he can gain the favour of the PC's and help out at the Church of St. Cuthburt, and manipulating things from outside but near the system. (He has nowhere to go since his shrine has been destroyed.)

I'm sure i'll have questions in the future, thank you ^_^ what do you think of my work so far?

How do you integrate this into the HC? What villans do you take out and what do you replace them with? How do you integrate the dreams in the game?

do you just describe the dream to one of the PC's?

It's confusing

I downloaded a way to forshadow the cagewrights and adimarchus better from RPG genius, i just don't know what to take out and what to put in it's place! it's so confusing >.< Has anyone else used this alternative?

Snape will do just as a chaotically neutral based character should do.

Get hammered.

I bought a deck a while ago but haven't had a chance to play with my gaming group just yet, so we'll see if they are interested or not.

we usually just play Smash Bros Melee during breaks so it's gonna be hard to steal em' away from it, haha.

I have a PDF of the entire path from the Dungeons. I don't know how I would get it to you...

Distributing that is most certainly a violation of copyright law. Please do not.

PDFs of the entire run of Shackled City issues should become available in the coming months.

Fair enough, i thought it would have been legal to have a PDF backup of just the adventure path. My mistake.

It's only one half of an "illegial" plot. Kind of like backing up a video game. I would gladly pay for it if it was available.

and yes, Dungeons came out as Dragon because I just woke up.

Does anyone know where I can get a PDF for this issue? My Shackled City HC hasn't arrived yet and I don't want to let my players down (yes, silly me put a date down on the first session without the book.)

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm just starting, and the characters are probably going to be.

- Human, Favored Sould of Nerull
- Human Fighter, Shield focus. (As a weapon...)
- Rogue of some descritption.
- Fiendblooded Sorc.
