A Happy New Year to you all! I need to offer a heartfelt apology to everyone for disappearing like I did. It was an amalgamation of things that led to it. A rough finals season, traveling, holidays, family drama, my older brother's wedding, and a shocking and much too young death of a family friend. These are just excuses, but ones I offer with a plea for forgiveness over my absence. I certainly want to keep playing in all of my games and plan to catch up as best I can now that I am back in my apartment.

I have finals Monday and Tuesday, so might not be posting until Tuesday night, early Wednesday. Bot me if needed please!

Ysabella steps out onto the ice to face their remaining foe head on. She attempts to cleave into it with her blade.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Sorry for the delay! Things have been more than a little hectic as of late.

Ysabella nearly falls back as the creature attacks her. She grips the sword gifted her by Lars in two hands and the cold rage of her arcane heritage and the deplorable experiments performed upon her overtakes her. More surprisingly her hands and the blade holding it burst into flames as she swings at the creature!

Bloodrage Elemental Assault Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (2) + (2) + 10 = 14

Free action to bloodrage, swift action to activate elemental assault (the 1d6 of fire damage), standard action to attack

Ysabella just stares at the now exploded snowman, "I went to realistic with the jackrabbit idea." She checks on Baxter to make sure he is okay and then says, "We're not going to turn back just because some magical exploding snowman told us to are we?" She then sidles up to Lars and the frozen stream and asks "Solid enough to cross?"

Ysabella just sighs sullenly, what a day this is turning out to be.

She thanks Lars and takes the weapon he proffers, "What's next? Flying jackrabbits with divine might?" She shakes her head as she stomps off down the path.

Ysabella reacts violently to her blade shrinking, twisting left and right, looking for the culprit, "We're not clear yet!" She holds her toothpick sized blade up to the others, "Some sort of magic has shrunk my blade, it must have been that damned stag!"

"I agree as well. Follow us if you must, but we have a job to do." Ysabella walks away purposefully.

"It's not so simple. This unnatural winter... I need to know why it is here and who brought it." Ysabella says, her eyes far away.

"Lars is right. I hope you the best Mr. Stag, but we have a job to do and a person to save." Ysabella starts to follow after Lars.

Ysabella reaches out a tenative hand toward the stag, "Do you want us to follow you?"

Ysabella nods at Bedwyr cautiously and turns her attention to the new comer, "One," she holds up a finger at each point, "That boy back in the village really may have seen a white stag. Two, it looks like it wants us to follow it. Three, do you think it really talks?" She steps slowly toward the stag as she speaks.

Ysabella smiles at Vernonia groggily as she awakens. She pushes herself into a sitting position and is startled by Bedwyr and his beastly companion. "Am I dreaming? Or is there really a Gnome and a lion over there?" She blinks disbelievingly.

I assume I am able to awaken now?

Curse you Color Spray! CURSE YOU! *shakes fist at imaginary color spray representative*

Ysabella widens her eyes in an attempt to spot the enemy properly herself. Come on, you know they are there, SO JUST SEE THEM!

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

I like him!

A Goliath Druid or a Saurian Shaman would be a lot of fun. Being those big creatures is a treat.

"We still have daylight left, we should gain as much ground as we can." She trudges away, head bowed in exhaustion and frustration.

"We didn't even know you but... We still feel your loss Voronwe." Ysabella bows her head and shuts her eyes momentarily. When she looks up again renewed determination is imprinted on her features, "Now more than ever we must find out what is happening here. We lost a companion following this trail, we cannot let him have died in vain."

The obvious solution is to build the tankiest character you can think of this time around!

Ysabelle swears viciously as she watches Voronwe fall, another life for you to answer to! An icy blue glow washes over her eyes and energy begins to leak from them. With a frightening stillness that belies the fury in her glowing eyes, Ysabella launches forward to attack the creature with an overhead chop of her great blade.

Activating bloodrage as a free action and swinging at the creature.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 2) + 7 = 12

You're doing well! I'm enjoying myself and I look forward to continuing.

I'm from southern BC and have spent some time in Vancouver but I am currently living in Ottawa. Quite a distance away.

"There's nothing of use to me, but we should definitely bring it back to Heldren if we get the chance." Ysabella will continue down the path if everyone else is ready to go.

Ysabella thanks Veronia and Baxter for their quick thinking and deft hands respectively. When Lars opens the chest she notices something odd sticking out from other the chest and reflexively grabs at it and attempts to pull it out, "What's this?"

Ysabella takes a moment to sort herself out, but she masks the pain of her wounds well, "Thank you Voronwe for gathering the firewood. Let us move on and make the best of the light we have left." She heads into the woods.

Ysabella gasps as she is knocked back, but recovers quickly. She brings her blade down in a high arc, cleaving into the undead creature in front of her.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 6) + 7 = 15

Ysabella nods at Baxter's reasoning "You're right." and then shrugs and removes the spear keeping the carriage shut and pulls the door open.

Hearing the commotion, Ysabella immediately makes her way over to the carriage with the others. She places her hand on the hilt of her blade as she waits for a reply to Lars's questioning.

Ysabella advances toward the site cautiously, "We should survey this place carefully before moving on, it would help to know what we are up against." After surveying the site briefly she will look to the others to see if they find anything.

Ysabella doesn't offer up any gold, when the others send her questioning looks she simply answers, "The cold doesn't bother me." Inwardly she feels a mix of panic and anticipation. She fears meeting the winter witches again, but wants nothing more than to damage them and their goals.

Unless you rule that cold resistance won't help against cold weather GM, in which case I suppose she would have to buy the gear too.

Ysabella sighs deeply, Fey of the north? It seems more and more likely the Winter Witches are involved. "Put a cold iron blade in my hand and I have no issue facing the fey, but even without it I won't just stand down." She leans toward Yuln and offers him a smile both vicious and empathetic, and whispered words of comradery, "It seems out enemies have aligned my friend. I would have taken on this task either way, but know that I will tackle this with my utmost ferocity."

Ysabella considers their options, "There are multiple cases to investigate it seems, but they may be connected. Perhaps if we find Lady Malassene we will find the root of these recent troubles."

Ysabella eyes the council woman up and down then offers a polite nod and a hand to shake, "It seems someone has been stealing his crops. We have all offered to lend a hand in protecting them and possibly catching the perpetrator."

Ysabella has overheard enough, if they plan to investigate I should tag along. I can help out and gather information. She walks up to the group with a swagger in her step. She wears a cloak that masks her slight frame and carries a greatsword almost as large as herself. Her features are soft, but very faint scars in all kinds of strange patterns cover every inch of visible skin. Her voice is even softer than her features when she speaks, "It sounds like you are all planning on investigating these odd occurances. You can count me in too." She crosses her arms and plants herself in the conversation as though her words alone confirm her place in the group.

Ysabella finds herself considering the nervous atmosphere of Heldren from atop The Silver Stoat. She felt safer at heights, away from the hustle and bustle of regular life. It does help when absentminded tavernkeepers leave ladders leaning against the side of their taverns. She yawns deeply and leans back to stare up at the clouds, outwardly she is calm, but inwardly the recent news has her worried, I can't just assume every flash snow and fall through the ice is the work of the Winter Witches. She sits up and shakes her head in frustration, so much for a relaxing day. She crosses the rooftop to the ladder and makes her way down to the unforgiving earth. Entering the building she sits down with her back to the wall and her eyes to the door. She orders a late breakfast and draws in the conversation of the locals, attempting to discern whether her worries were well founded.

Character sheet is almost finished for Ysabella the Suli Arcane Bloodrager.

She was kidnapped as a young child by an evil Winter Witch and experimented on. She managed to escape, but not without scars. She has been running for a while now and ended up in Heldren where she has tried to settle into a simple life. Unforunately for her, the past has a way of coming back to haunt you.

Haven't decided whether to used Warded Against Witchery or Failed Winter Witch Apprentice as her campaign trait. I could argue for either to work easily enough. The Bloodrager class skill list also isn't very conductive to background skills so I still have to pick those.
