Urban Barbarian Abilities:

Crowd Control (Ex): At 1st level, an urban barbarian
gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to
AC when adjacent to two or more enemies. In addition,
her movement is not impeded by crowds, and she gains
a bonus equal to 1/2 her barbarian level on Intimidate
checks to influence crowds (Core Rulebook 436). This ability
replaces fast movement.

Controlled Rage (Ex): When an urban barbarian rages,
instead of making a normal rage she may apply a +4 morale
bonus to her Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution. This
bonus increases to +6 when she gains greater rage and +8
when she gains mighty rage. She may apply the full bonus
to one ability score or may split the bonus between several
scores in increments of +2. When using a controlled rage,
an urban barbarian gains no bonus on Will saves, takes no
penalties to AC, and can still use Intelligence-, Dexterity-,
and Charisma-based skills. This ability otherwise follows
the normal rules for rage.

Traits:
Buccaneer’s Blood: One of your ancestors was an
infamous Free Captain of the Shackles, whose very name
struck fear in the hearts of those who sailed the seas in
search of an honest living. Piracy is in your blood, and
you’ve always longed to follow in your forebear’s footsteps
and plunder the shipping lanes. You gain a +1 trait bonus
on Intimidate and Profession (sailor) checks. In addition,
you gain a one-time +1 trait bonus to your Disrepute and
Infamy scores (see “The Life of a Pirate” in Pathfinder
Adventure Path #55 for details on the Infamy system).
You went to a tavern called the Formidably Maid, a
notorious pirate hangout in Port Peril, eager to start your
career as a buccaneer. While you were there, however, a dashing
and flirtatious corsair caught your eye, and
after a whirlwind night of booze and romance, you found
yourself beaten senseless and stuffed in a sack, carried
off to who knows where.

Vagabond Child(urban): You grew up among the outcasts and outlaws of your society, learning to forage and survive in an urban environment. Select one of the following skills: Disable Device, Escape Artist, or Sleight of Hand. You gain a +1 trait bonus on that skill, and it is always a class skill for you.

History:
The rumored son of none other than the Blood Moon's captain Avimar Sorrinash, Xul has lead a life of both savagery and civilization. His mother was marooned on Raptor Island pregnant with child with only jug of rum. This is what Avinash considered "mercy". Luckily she stumbled across other local exiles before encountering the local fauna. Growing up on the island Xul witnessed more violence and death than he cares to remember, including that of his mother to a swarm of the deinonychuses. Only his quickness and speed allowed him to dive into the surrounding foliage and avoid a similar fate. A before to now unfelt fury boiled from the depths of his soul at having the only thing he cared about taken so suddenly from him. Waking from his haze with half a dozen of the little dinosaur carcasses lying scattered about rotting in the noon sun, and an equal number of bleeding wounds, he realized he must escape this place or perish. His mother had however imparted upon him the story of his father and how she ended up in this gods forsaken place.

Waiting for one of the ships occasionally seen anchoring off-shore, Xul waited for the pirate shore party to take their victims onto the beach before clambering into the rowboat from the sea. The curses of the stranded men followed him across the waves as he took the small boat around to a secret little cove and loaded it with food and water. Heading out to sea again he let the winds take him where they will as he had no idea where he was going. While rowing was easy enough to figure out from watching the men use the rowboat, sailing was an entirely different matter.

A tempest arose and tossed and turned his little boat until it filled with water and literally broke apart under him. Using the biggest piece of the hull to stay afloat he drifted for days before the ship The Ravenous Wraith came across and pulled him from the water. The ship had recently suffered serious losses in a battle with another pirate and Xul was immediately and ruthlessly pressed into service. As harsh as the treatment was, he actually remembers the days aboard the ship fondly. He took to sailing and seemed to have a bit of a natural knack for it. He learned his favorite pastime of mumblety-peg and won more than a few wagers and the first-mates rapier with his dexterous knife skills. He also spent some time fashioning a makeshift shield out of the piece of driftwood left over from his adventure in the rowboat. The white-hot rage of his former life was cooled and forged anew by the days at sea into a cold fury with a single purpose....revenge.

Having earned his sea-legs and the respect of the crew over the past year, he was trusted to leave the ship in Port Peril as a full member of the crew. That's when a fiery haired lass at The Formidably Maid caught his eye...
