About Xodar Order of The Jet Star

Backgroup:
Xodar was the 4th son of his house and was going to be sacrificed to the abyssal lords as custom in the drow city. Lucky for Xodar his father one of the high priestess’s many consorts, was secretly a member of the Order of the Jet Star an order of Monks that were secret worshipers of the Asmodeus. When he was to be sacrificed his father secretly stole away his son and gave him as an orphan to the Order of the Jet Star.

Xodar grew up in the monastery with difficult training and always learning the ways of the order mixing their faith in Asmodeus and the training of one’s body to perfection. He was one of the few who had his prayers answered by Asomdeus and given divine guidance along with his formidable martial expertise, was placed in The Brotherhood
For years he has trained and learned how to hide his worship on Asmodeus all the while trying to help establish a foothold of worship with the Drow Society.

Now that Xodar he has ascended to the rank of First Brother and has shown great promise in his trainings and the ways of the Order he has been sent out to help claim an area for the order to be able to function in public.

Personality:

Xodar is a very quiet contemplative man using violence as a last ditch effort but when it comes to violence he won’t stop until either him or his enemy is defeated. He is very standoffish and aloof and usually people take it for him being rude in truth spending over a 100 years in the monastery, sometimes not talking to anyone for months at a time has taught him to be more introspective.

Appearance:

Xodar is six foot four close to six five 150 pounds huge for a male drow and very much has the muscle structure to go with it. With coal black skin his eyes a rarity among the drow a light purple similar to other drow's skin color.
Xodar always wears a hooded robe with the hood pulled up over his head and carries a Walking Stick, he keeps his head shaven clean if he were to let it grow it would be a silvery white

Order of the Jet Star:
The Order of the Jet Star has been within Drow society for centuries. It hides its self in the open giving lip service to the Demon Lords and other drow patrons, all the while serving its true master Asmodeus trying to subvert the drow to his control, and as always with the Drow things take centuries to make small changes but the Order has time.
The Order works in Taaryssia as arbiters, judges and mediators, and sometimes enforcers of law in a lawless chaotic drow city they are not always used liked or accepted, but they are listened to by many because of the power and clout they have among the different houses. The order understands the game of Drow politics all too well so it plays the game all while trying to convert and subvert the drow of Taaryssia to the will of Asmodeus.
The order is broken down into a very specific hierarchy with each group having its roles and power bases within. There is The Mace which is the orders military force of orphans and converts who are slowly as they raise in the hierarchy taught about the truth of the order and the worship of Asmodeus. The contract is the orders bureaucrats who deal with the setting and establishing the laws of the order and trying to set laws for Taaryssia.
For those who have a true connection with Asmodeus there is the Brotherhood. Within the Brotherhood there is a rigid hierarchy within two separate groups one side of the brotherhood is the Clergy of Asmodeus made up of clerics and mages set on running the order. The other half of the Brotherhood are The Sacred Fists/Monks they are the shining examples to the ideas and ways of the order. These monks are often associated with the Order in there black robes and black stars walking the streets showing the masses the way of the Order.
The Brotherhood recruits from the orphans and initiates at a young age usually they are taken before they turn 10 the rest of are placed in the Maces and Contracts depending on their aptitude. Each group has their own way of training and teaching their own all for the advancement of The Order of the Jet Star.
The Training of the Brotherhood is very harsh and strict for the first 10 years you are trained only to speak when spoken to by an authority if you speak at any other time you are subject to lashings
Many things can lead to these lashings all of them are listed and each member must memorize the list to memory if you fail to, this will also lead to lashings.
Each week there is ceremony within the Brotherhood for these lashings in the name of Asmodeus. The subject of the lashing is delivered by the person who is one step about the recipient in the hierarchy. Showing all that you must be subservient to the man above you and all in the order above you. Rarely are the beating bad enough to be fatal but many times its severe enough to be sure even after magic to leave scars on ones back.
In the Brotherhood there are titles that go along with your rank within the Sacred Fists
Initiate
Novice
Student
Brother (until this level you are not allowed outside the monastery)
Disciple
Master
Grandmaster
Within these ranking there are more ranking establishing an even more rigid hierarchy except for the Grandmaster the order only has one Grandmaster
