Grit Pool [4]
Deeds: Gun Tank's Resolve: When the gun tank is wearing medium or heavy armor and is subject to a critical hit or sneak attack, she can spend 1 grit point as an immediate action to attempt to negate the critical hit or sneak attack damage. At 1st level, she has a 25% chance of doing so.
Covet Charge (Ex): At 1st level, a techslinger can spend 1 grit point to use 1 charge fewer than normal when firing a technological weapon (minimum 0), as long as the weapon has enough charges remaining to be fired at least once. This deed replaces deadeye.
Reliable (Ex) At 1st level, a techslinger can spend 1 grit point as a free action to prevent a timeworn firearm from glitching. This deed replaces quick clear.
Unstoppable (Ex): At 1st level, when a titan succeeds at a Fortitude saving throw against an effect that deals damage on a successful save, she can spend 1 grit point as an immediate action to instead take no damage for that effect.
Craftsman: Dwarves are known for their superior craftsmanship when it comes to metallurgy and stonework. Dwarves with this racial trait receive a +2 racial bonus on all Craft or Profession checks related to metal or stone. This racial trait replaces greed.
Iron Within: Dwarves with this racial trait gain 1 ki point. If the dwarf gains ki points from a different source, this ki point is added to that pool. In addition to any other ways in which the dwarf can use ki, the dwarf can expend the ki point as a swift action to either gain a +2 dodge bonus to AC for 1 round or increase her base speed by 20 feet for 1 round. The bonus ki point does not allow the dwarf to make a ki strike unless she has another ability that allows her to do so, such as the ki pool from the monk class. Like other ki points, this ki point is replenished each morning after 8 hours of rest or meditation. This replaces defensive training and hatred.
Stonecunning: Dwarves gain a +2 bonus on Perception checks to notice unusual stonework, such as traps and hidden doors located in stone walls or floors. They receive a check to notice such features whenever they pass within 10 feet of them, whether or not they are actively looking.
Stability: Dwarves gain a +4 racial bonus to their Combat Maneuver Defense when resisting a bull rush or trip attempt while standing on the ground.
Hardy: Dwarves gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities.
Slow and Steady: Dwarves have a base speed of 20 feet, but their speed is never modified by armor or encumbrance.

Background & Personality:
The Stormforge clan was once among the wealthiest and most prestigious clanholds in the Five Kings Mountains, their status owing almost entirely to the potent lightning-powered forgeworks for which the clan was named. During the rise of Droskar’s Kingdom the clan was riven by civil war; the ascendant Droskarri shattered the Storm Forges and successfully ran down every source of knowledge about their operation; it is not believed that a single forgekeeper or lore-tome survived. When the Kingdom of Droskar toppled the clan was left in ruins, and has been struggling to rebuild ever since.
Many of the clan’s youths form war-companies that hire themselves out (both in the Five Kings Mountains and abroad) to earn coin for the clan’s ongoing efforts to repair their magical forges. Xaerai joined one of these companies (the “Thunder Strikers”) who served as muscle for several minor struggles between rival bandit-lords in the River Kingdoms. It was there that Xaerai’s life changed—during a siege of some no-account town the opposing lord fielded Numerian mercenaries, boasting strange and powerful weapons that even included strange golems. Though the fighting was fierce these otherworldly machines were bested, and the Thunder Strikers examined their remains with fascination…these metals were like nothing the dwarves had seen, and Xaerai new immediately that the secrets of these weapons were her clans ticket back out of poverty and shame. Unfortunately, such secrets are rarely unguarded; a detachment of Technic League wizards and their robotic servitors descended upon the Thunder Striker’s camp but a few nights later, wreaking havoc and destruction as the League reclaimed the scraps of technology recovered from the battlefield. The Thunder Strikers limped home with nothing to show for their efforts.
The tales of dangerous and powerful machines—apparently all hailing from a barbaric land to the north—did not intrigue her clan elders the way Xaerai expected, but she refused to be chastened or dissuaded. Finally, her frustrated elders gave the young warrior leave to travel north and see what she can discover about these so-called ‘robots’ and the dread mages who command them.
