I tried to purchase the PDF on Friday and it didn't work and there was a hold place on my account due to billing address issues.

I only knew that after I had to pester Sara Marie because it seems like the customer service email wasn't working. I was transferred back to customer service and got one email about verifying my address. I did so and waiting a few days and nothing back, no acknowledgement or anything and I'm honestly tired of trying. I tracked down a physical copy locally and don't need the PDF anymore.

I didn't know about the staff sickness/shortage, it was never mentioned in the 2 emails I received and only found out when I decided to check the message boards; An announcement on the front store page would've been great.

I know that customer service is a hellish job and I appreciate anyone that works it and tries all they can, but I honestly felt like they didn't want my money/business, and it really soured my first experience with the online store and I doubt will buy anything here again.

I'm sorry that people are sick and it short staff, it makes the job even crappier but there has to be a better solution then to wait and wonder if they even got your email.
