Foxglove Manor
The Festivel seems to be slowing down as people are either digesting too much food or drank too much ale; a few hours pass as wood for the evening bonfire starts being piled and a few more activities happen. Everyone seems ready for more partying as the sun begins to set and father Zantus once again takes the central podium to deliver a speech. A sharp retort, like the crack of distant thunder, slices through the excited crowd as the sun’s setting rays paint the western sky. A stray dog that has crawled under a nearby wagon to sleep starts awake, and the buzz of two dozen conversations quickly hushes as all heads turn toward the central podium, where a beaming Father Zantus has taken the stage. He clears his throat, takes a breath to speak, and suddenly a woman’s scream slices through the air. A few moments later, another scream rises, then another. Beyond them, a sudden surge of strange new voices rises—high-pitched, tittering shrieks that sound not quite human. The crowd parts and something low to the ground races by, giggling with disturbing glee as the stray dog gives a pained yelp and then collapses with a gurgle, its throat cut open from ear to ear. As blood pools around its head, the raucous sound of a strange song begins, chanted from shrill, scratchy voices. "Goblins chew and goblins bite.", starts the chant,
A group of goblins bursts out from inside a wagon and runs in all directions, shrieking, leaping and cackling with joy as the townsfolk start to panic. Some of them light torches, ready to burn tents; while others pick children or pets to run after. Perceptions:
Garbund: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 Squeeze: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Viridi: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Kalais: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 Ansgar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 Sable: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 While Squeeze is maybie a little distracted by other goblins suddenly invading the festival under a bloodthirsty song, the other quickly notice that the goblin who sliced the dog's throat is hiding behind a wagon, licking the blood from its dogslicer and looking around in search of a new target. Other four goblin circle the group and the five seem to the decide their next targets are Viridi and her new friends. They seem a little too confident and excited for cowardly goblins, maybie they think Squeeze is on their side? Initiative:
Garbund: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Squeeze: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Viridi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 Kalais: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Ansgar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Sable: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 Goblin 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Goblin 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 Goblin 3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Goblin 4: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 Goblin 5: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 Turn Order:
# Round 1 Two goblins walk up to Kalais and Sable and attack with their dogslicers. "Eheheh, goblins cut longshanks! Yes! Ehehe!" Goblin4: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 The first goblin tries to hit Kalais but does a very predictable swing that is easily dodged. Goblin2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Sable is not as lucky; fortunately dogslicers aren't very good at cutting, but the blade is sharp enough to leave a superficial but painful bleeding at the upper leg. Ansgar and Kalais are up

"Keys? What keys? Oh! Got it! I guess you left them in another room? You know, to avoid them being stealed by one of those sick patients?" More Bluff? =x: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Like the title says, this is an Interest Check for PbPing the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition adventure path. This adventure path has some strong investigation/mistery elements so i think it would be more fun if the players haven't read/played the AP before (although that might prove difficult since its the oldest AP released). Im aiming for 3 to 5 players, adjusting encounters for balance if needed. |
