Appearance:

Standing at 6'1, Wild Poe of the Shackles is neither one to stand over someone, nor under. He is, however, one to attempt to set fire to his beard to intimidate his enemies.

Poe has deep and dark sunken brown eyes hidden behind blonde eyebrows and long, dreadlocke blonde hair with a locked beard to match. Both hang to just around his mid-chest, which is at all times fully exposed.

Poe got the "Wild" in his name as, first, a test when he joined a crew of the Shackles at 15. The Captain laughed at him and said that if he could beat any one of his men bare chested he'd gladly let the poor gypsy on board as a part of the crew. Wild Poe instead decided to simply start outright attacking random members until they subdued him- leading to a grand series of scars across his back and front.

Wild Poe is nearly 200 pounds, and there is a rare time where you won't find him attempting to do one physical activity or another if there is no action around- resulting in his pale hands and feet having callouses.

Background:

At 15 Poe attempted to join a crew as a Fortune Teller for the Shackles, seeking to establish himself a career as a Monk of Chance and Fighter of Fortune. This was the exact line he told the Captain, and the Captain nearly laughed him off the ship with a challenge.

After gaining the title of Wild Poe moments after, the Captain put the "fortune teller" to work in the bilges, and Poe used their nighttime activities of brawling to prove he was worth much more than being a bilge worker.

Wild Poe soon led the charges of raids against other ships, hosted the brawling nights as a champion himself, and often, due to the discipline of which he slaughtered the captains enemies and destroyed their ships, was on his way to becoming Master Gunner before the campaign had happened.

How is Wild Poe a Monk?:

Wild Poe is not the traditional monk of wisdom who realizes that wisdom means meditating on the meaning of life- in fact, his fortune telling told him that true wisdom was attained by realizing life has no meaning and, by this definition, neither did morality, laws, or anything other than what Poe decided mattered to himself.

On this end, Poe realized that destroying life with a merry band of people was the best way to get through the day, and whether it was a grindylow, sailor, or even a government military ship, Poe executed his wisdom to them all by preaching of the fickleness of life with the tip of his Temple Sword.

Poe will often exaggerate the meaninglessness of life at length if ever asked why he became one, or why he took the Vow of Truth with a nature like his.

A Funny Desire and Motive:

Wild Poe has managed siege weapons as part of a crew, worked in the bilges, mid-deck and main deck, led raid charges against sailing ships, and in his time in the Shackles even ridden plenty of horses and carriages.

But one thing always eluded Wild Poe, and that was a Dragon. Wild Poe greatly desired to ride a Dragon, and decided that among all the meaninglessness of life, he would create his own circumstancial meaning by training to ride one or handle one anytime he had free time to do so.

It is a gaurantee that if there is a dragon in sight, Wild Poe's first course of action will be to attempt to handle it, and then ride it- even if it takes some physical coercion for it to allow him to do so first.
