Hello there,

It is with a heavy heart that I must tender my resignation from this game.

I have had a death in the family recently, and I have to take some significant time to deal with the outcome of this both emotionally, and with its impact on my life.

Thank you all for such a great game, and I wish you all a great game.

Wart peeks over the railing as he moves along, trying to see if guests are returning to the feast table, or still milling about.

"Doors, eh?"

While Addy goes over to the door in the middle of the northern bank, Wart shrugs and follows, passing on to open the door on the right in the northern bank of doors. (A38)

As he steps up to the door, he begins to sway slightly as if drunk, and opens the door whilst hiccuping.

Seeing Valeron otherwise occupied, Wart sticks to the wall, moving quietly, and tries to slip behind the drunk woman.

As he moves, he keeps a lookout for anyone watching them, and tries to make sure no one is paying attention from below.

Hey Howdy!

No post tonight, I will be traveling today and tomorrow...and I should be able to post through my next 10 days worth of vacation to the Northwest of the USA.

Wart looks up, and whispers, "let me go scout..."

Wart, feeling bold, starts to stagger out the door, and staggers down the hallway, hiccupping at "appropriate" moments.

He staggers about, moving over towards the door at the bottom of the stairs. To A27 He stumbles against the wall, and seems to be trying to steady himself.

Attempting to notice any sounds through the door.

Wart handles the unidentified potion and wand, stowing them away within easy reach.

He pauses for a moment, listening.

He whispers, we should go further in, i think. the further away from the...the...party, the easier it should be for us to act unimpeded.

Actually, Valeron, I wasn't thinking negatively about his hesitancy...I was trying to participate, and offer an avenue for RP. ;)

Watching as Black Addie casts her spell, Wart's eyes light up. He raises his eyebrow when she studies the items further.

"Magic items, eh?"

He waits patiently for them to be done examining them, and then peeks in.

"Which ones did you not identify?"

Assuming they point out which ones they do identify, if not, disregard.

"May I?"

Wart picks up the unidentified vial of liquid, and holds it in his hand. He mutters to himself, inspecting the color and peering at certain qualities through the unopened vial.

He frowns, and mutters some more. He stops.

"Hmm, don't have a clue. I could tell you more, but I would have to smell and possibly taste it...unwise in this den of devil worshipers."

He clears his throat softly, and continues, Well, perhaps we just take what we identified? Though strictly against the law, I personally don't have a moral quandary with depriving these bastards of their worldly goods. Then again...technically, I am against the law as an escaped slave. What say you?

Wart, with the hairs on his feet standing up, shivers slightly at the sight of the alter.

"One of these days..."

He drops into a crouch as Kevorin does some amazing work with his lockpicks. He looks left and right, and pulls his adventurer's sash out from behind his cloak.

He stops, looking at the others.

"I had to leave a lot behind, but I have my extracts, bombs, and a dagger...lighter than I would like to travel, but it will have to do."

He sheepishly pulls out a piece of hardtack and gnaws on it.

"What? So I am a stress eater..."

As Kevorin moves up to the next door, Wart stands with him, quietly giving him pointers, attempting to assist in the picking attempt.

DM Talomyr: Not really. I was just going to meander a bit, trying to get my bearings. Morghrim's suggestion is a good one. What are the servants wearing?

Wart, after speaking with the others, begins to walk about. While doing his best to remain unnoticed, he surreptitiously looks for a door or passage that would seem to lead to a protected area, such as the vault.

I am going to assume, that we came in through A1 to A3, and that the door that the servants are moving through to get the food is towards A27?

At one point, after the first course, Wart gathers the others inconspicuously...

With a whisper, while looking about, Wart says "Hey, let's remember we are not here to party...lets find this vault thing, eh?"

After Addie's mention of the food being slightly...off, Wart surreptitiously sniffs and tastes his food to attempt to identify what is "wrong" with it.

    Not that I was looking for conversation, just looking to see if anything is out of the ordinary for the scene...a slip paying too much attention, that kind of thing. I am scouting a possible exit strategy here in case things turn crappy with this dinner.

    Taking small bites of everything to not be seen as rude, Wart smiles and nods at the conversation about the table. He tries to keep the conversation light about him, as he is more engaged in keeping his eyes open and attentive.

    Most of this would actually be orders put in, I understand that I will not have access to most of this at the start of this next part...and I was hoping to get the dog from the trainer, now that I have enough to pay for it.

    Craft(Alchemy) for Wart:

  • Find Item's price, convert to sp (1 gp = 10 sp)
  • Find the DC (from table 4-4, or DM)
  • Pay 1/3 cost in raw materials
  • Craft check: 1d20+12 represents one week's worth of work
  • If successful, multiply result by DC. if answer = item's price in sp, then complete
  • If result x DC = 2x or 3x the price in SP, then complete in 1/2 or 1/3 the time. other multiples reduce time as well.
  • If result x DC =/= price, represents progress for the week.
  • Progress by the Day: You can make checks by the day instead
    of by the week. In this case your progress (check result × DC)
    should be divided by the number of days in a week.
  • I would also like to get the materials to create a weapon blanch (silver). It would cost 1 gold 6 silver and 6 copper for it, and has a Craft DC of 20.

    If allowed, here is my craft roll: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29

    According to what I understand of craft rules, this would get me 20 (DC)* 29 (result) / 7 (days in a week in Golarion) an overall result of 82. I needed 50 to make it in one night.

    Who wants their weapon to count as silver for that first hit?

    If allowed, this would bring me down to 645 gp, 2 sp, 2 cp.

    Wart pants for but a moment, before the illusion wears off, and he shrinks from a medium sized bastard of Asmodeus, down to his usual pint sized self.

    "Perhaps, you could assist us? I am not used to these kind of affairs...is a certain level of dress or attire expected? I doubt that my leather armor infused with a delicate sweat essence will be appreciated at this party. I also, would not care to tarnish or infringe upon your good reputation."

    Wart knocks back another concoction, flexing his fingers as new vigor rejuvenates his hurting body.

    He spends the next few spare moments, kneeling in earnest prayer to Milani.

    "Everbloom...things aren't looking too good for me. I do not fear death, but please do what you can for my companions. If I should die here, please help me to do so honorably, and to take my enemies with me."

    Running forward, Wart-as-Larazod, palms another vial. He moves closer to the end of the stage, looming over the orchestra like a half-blood devil bastard.

    Shrieking in rage, he turns quickly facing both the hulking skeleton, and the Magistrate.

    "By the great power of the dark Lord, Magistrate, I have called...he has answered. We have survived thus far in your tests. How many times must I call for his blessing? Pick a number. Any number. Perhaps...thrice. Am I thrice-blessed Magistrate?"

    Wart raises his arms again, and again a huge boom and a flash detonates between the Magistrate and the skeleton. This one coming closer to the Magistrate, and taking a chunk out of the thone he sits upon.

    "Tsk. Tsk. Magistrate...apparently our Dark Lord has some commentary upon your position...shall we see what his thrice blessing will do? Will you survive?"

    Staring down at the wound created by the massive teeth of the skeleton creature, Wart's eyebrows crease.

    He raises his voice, steping toward the crowd, and turning to face them, pointing at Magistrate Haanderthan.

    "Magistrate, my patience for your continued fallacy wears thin. You aren't worthy of the uniform of your station!"

    Wart palms a bomb vial, and spins, raising his hands again above his head, releasing the vial at a pair of the skeletons as he shouts to the crowd,

    "In the name of the Dark Lord, I call upon the fires below to cleanse this world of you abyssal taint...summoned as your were by this...most unworthy...magistrate! And heal these wounds oh dark patron of this most grevious insult to your servant!"

    Looking up at Haaderthan bellowing, Wart matches his yell, with a defiant laugh at the end, not realizing the subtext of the situation.

    Panting and hold his hands up to the crowd as the curtain falls, he stands triumphant until the curtains close, then collapses to a knee.

    "Sorry about the smoke..." Wart pants breathlessly, "I will warn you guys next time. I was getting in there to help Ke...Drovalid, then all of a sudden, I am surrounded by those damned things, and they just kept landing the hits...I will work on a way to disperse the fog in the future."

    "Oh Mighty Dark One! If it is in fact time for me to pay heed to your inevitable call, then so be it! But I shall not go quietly into the night! I call upon my dark and terr-r-ible ancestry! I call forth a window into your dark realm! If only but for the briefest of moments!"

    Wart, as Larazod, reaches out towards the audience, and shouts at them, palming a smoke bomb from his gear:

    "ASMODEUS!"

    He brings his arms down, and thunder rings out inside the theater. The thunder covers the noise of the glass vial breaking at his feet. Hopefully

    *CRACK* *BOOM*

    Instantly, the stage is covered in a thick gray smoke.

    Thinking quickly, Wart weaves and dodges to the left, trying to get away from the attackers. Admittedly, he can no longer see, but as he does moves, he grabs a potion out of his hand.

    Put smoke effect on map. Sorry about this guys, not the soundest tactical decision, but Wart is trying to cover up some mojo. If I am reading the spell fog cloud right, I get at a minimum a 20% mischance from our children.

    Wart moves to support Kevorin, wiping vomit off his face with one hand, and flicking out his new alchemical silver dagger with the other.

    "Indeed. Let us see if our children would like to play?"

    Wart move to O5, dry-heaving between lines.

    Stopping for a moment, he looks out to the crowd, raises his hand to say something or pronounce some dramatic line...and doubles over hurling again.

    Larazod chokes down the egg, which he keeps down for just a moment, before falling to his knees and vomiting forth a wave of green goo. He continues to vomit as he tries to crawl away from the others.

    1 move action to K5, 1 more turn of nauseated!

    If Wart lives:
    Wart studies the great Beast before the group with disdain.

    What is it with these people and their obsession with ACID! The Master always wanted me to make this stuff! I swear this damn alchemical mixture will be the death of me some day.

    He slips in after Black Addie, mindful of not splashing acid on the others when he is inside. He turns pale immediately from the fumes, and as Calseinica moves into the Beast, he dry heaves, and slips to fall into the acid. He quickly regains his composure, but smoke can be seen coming off his burnt skin.

    Wart begins vomiting again as Kevorin climbs in, and slips in it as Kevorin tries to climb out. His fall though pushes Calseinica forward, knocking her into Kevorin and pushing him along his way out just a bit more. He barely regains his footing before he slips again as Calseinica attempts to climb out. His attempt to assist her out lost as he dunks into the acid again.

    Finally, it being his turn, Wart attempts to climb out, slipping into the acid a final time, dry heaving again before he is able to gain purchase and move out of the Beast by strength alone. He grunts with single minded purpose...survival his only thought.

    Once outside, he loses himself for a moment, burned and burning from the acid. He shakes his head to clear his mind, and gets back to assisting the others out.

    He assists in pulling Addie out, but his strength fails when helping Valeron. He rallies and sucessfully assists in helping pull Morghrim out.

    At the end of it all, he drops to a knee on stage, wounded but defiantly scowling at the Magistrate Haanderthan.
