That bit had never quite made sense to Viola. Why would a water goddess that hated undead require their remains to be buried in the ground? It had nothing to do with her domains, really, and just left the remains vulnerable to necromancers. It made even less sense when applied to Sarenrae, a goddess of fire. But she didn't say that. Only thought it. Instead, she set to work. She didn't really bother with helping to dig - she lacked the muscle to do much more than get in the way of a large group. What she did have, however, was experience. She'd spent time in her indiscretion-filled youth writing terrible poetry in graveyards and taken the time to make friends with the local gravedigger. As such, while she didn't quite have any overly useful tips to deliver in this muddy waterchoked environment, she could at least make sure they were doing it right, if not well.

Several runes begin to glow as she reaches for Alexis's weapon and crosses the intervening space. As soon as a finger lands on it, a wispy silver light arcs across it, blanketing it in pale copies of the glowing glyphs. Spending 1 Transmutation Focus to add Merciful to Alexis's Gandasa via Legacy Weapon. All damage it deals is nonlethal, but damage is increased by 1d6.

The first two things that Viola did when she was sent to 'deal with' the peasants was roll her eyes, though her rose-tinted goggles covered the childish action, the light huff that accompanied it wasn't quite so well-covered. As they made their way there, she took the time to think back to what she knew about the immediate area; while geography wasn't her forte, people most assuredly were. The reasoning for setting up a toll here likely had something to do with the situations within the area... desperation was far more likely than simple depredation. Especially with someone as formidable looking as Alexis. Regardless, she left a small amount of space between herself and them, while occasionally glancing back to the people that they were escorting to ensure nothing was inherently wrong back with the pilgrimage. Still, she watched the folks in front of them, fully expecting nervousness from the lot.

I also still have a lot of profile work to do, ugh! Viola specializes in knowing. She's a sort of poor-man's bard in that regard. She'll generally at least have a name for what we're dealing with unless she's way out of her league. :) As a Relic Hunter, Viola draws magic from her attachment to objects. I haven't fully settled on the story, but the gist of her current items is that they belonged to people who were important to her: The Deathwatch Eyes (Goggles) that she uses for Divination belonged to one parent, while her Wayfinder (Compass) that she uses for Conjuration belonged to the other. I haven't settled on where her crossbow came from. :)

My job picks up when school is out. I'm going to be a bit more busy for a while. This won't really affect whether or not I -do- post in threads, just the speed at which I do. Some days, I won't be able to really get posts in at work, other days it won't be very bad. Today is likely to be one of those days where I'll either post around noon, or not at all until I'm home. I should still be highly responsive, just not nearly as responsive as you may be used to. :)

As Dambreth spoke, Viola began to grin. Slowly at first then it grew wider. After he finished, she responded in common, "Don't really like speaking in languages other folks don't understand unless I hafta. It makes it seem like there are secrets. I'm Viola... and you are very obviously from another time. I mean... where's your rebreather? No one comes out here without..." she looked to each person in turn. "If you start growing tentacle things, I'm out." She held up the communicator thing, which meant she was no longer tossing it up and catching it, holding it out so that someone could snatch it if they wanted it. "Still trying to determine if I should press the button or let someone who knows what's going on press the button. But... it's a button so it's meant to be pressed, yeah?" she shrugs. "Also... I did not know that Drakes could turn into elves. That's pretty cool. Don't suppose you'd mind giving me a ride later?" she said, looking over to Sinathel with a wink. Then she returned her attention back to Dambreth, "That was pretty fun, so I may stick around. Depends on what's next, really. Plus there's that whole treasure thing. I'm really -really- hoping to get a shiny that doesn't need blowing up. Speaking of which... if you spot any drake eggs, I'm supposed to get one of those for a client." And wiggled an arrow at some orcs. I think I'd like to see what he does with a real weapon. <---- Resolved... kind of. He took down a plane (mostly) with a single arrow. Epic loots? Only if my own stuff counts... there's also this McGuffin I think I'm carrying. Defeated a notable enemy? Mighty and proud dwarven cage was a noble foe, but indeed, I did bop it. Also, that Temellen guy. And I helped out with the orc guy. Speaking of helping out, I'm pretty sure she succeeded in playing that funky music to help folks out. Learning more about the world? Kinda. People won't answer her questions, though. Probably because they get stuck on one of the seven. Like when everyone wouldn't let her touch/keep the shiny thing. That wasn't fair. A new bond is necessary... but I'll have to think on that! So +5 XP, leaving me at 6. If I haven't forgotten anything.
